My Once and Future Strength Part II: LG Sciences' Updated T-911

I never had dry joints with the original T-911 either. The new AI?

I have briefs that are older than both of you kids!!

I had some moderately dry joints on the original T-911 (3 tabs/day), but I've found I work best off of 2 tabs/day, so I haven't had issues since.

I stuck with 2 ed only because 3 did not provide more benefits. Formex on the otherhand had my joints screaming.

Alright, I'll drop back to 2 ed and see if that rectifies the problem.
Still feeling under the weather, but I'm good enough to lift tomorrow. Lookin' forward to it!

For some reason, less is more for me with T-911. I get better effects off of it at 2 ed. Probably one of the only supplements I've found that I do better with less. That's a good thing as far as I know.

Well, it'll make the bottle last longer, and that's always a good thing. The stiffness has subsided in the couple of days that I've taken off, presumably because I haven't had 3 on any given day.

BW prolly won't be able to lift with me tomorrow - she's got to work all day. So, I'll probably lift at the med center's gym. Not quite as well equipped, but it's always practically empty and if she's not going, it'll save me some driving time too. Have to sub in split or front squats, but my front squat needs some attention anyway.

Oi! I'm LOVING my Front Squats as of late. I think I'll be hitting 315lbs in no time. Most definitely on my next run of PRIME. I hit 280x3 last week. I'll hop in the cage next time I do them so I will feel safer pushing myself. I normally put the BB Hooks on the outside and step out of the Squat area. I feel more powerful when I'm in the open for some reason. All psychological, which tends to be very important in lifting.

Bastard...

Ok, j/k it awesome your front squats are improving so much man. There's no way my abs could handle 315 up front right now, though there was a time when I could do that.

Alright, that decides it, I'm tossing ego to the wind and doing front squats until the sissy amount of weight I'm moving there becomes more respectable!

Keep in mind I'm wearing a belt past 225lbs due to my back.

Well, not a whole lot you can do about that at this point. It'll suck once your back heels and you try squatting without it, but as long as your back gives you trouble, I'd keep using the belt. You've got a legit reason to wear it, not like 95% of the people I see wearing them.

you guys are lucky..I blew out L4/L5 years back...when I squat its on the smith machine now and I have no choice to go light...

I had a rockin' workout yesterday! Had to improvise without a squat rack at the med center, but it ended up being beneficial, having to think outside the box.

T-911: Still a bit of knee stiffness, but no other joint issues anymore, which is a step in the right direction. What little stiffness I still have could also be due to my cold, which is still hanging on for dear life. Strength is up on almost all lifts - my DB press had to be altered a bit as there weren't any 105 dbs and 110 was too heavy as you'll see.

Front Squats: With no rack, I had to clean the bb up to my shoulders for each set. This actually seemed to help solidify my stance - like the bar was placed better by being flung up than when I approach the bar from a racked position. Anyways, I warmed-up for a couple of sets and topped out at 205x6 which, as lame as it is, is a 20lb increase over the my last attempt at Front Squats. Of course, these don't compare to my pre-injury numbers at all, but it shows I'm progressing. I stripped back the bar a bit and hit a widowmaker with 135. More than anything I just wanted this to reinforce form, which it seemed to do nicely.

DB Bench: As I said, no 105s, so I warmed up, grabbed the 110s and banged AMAP, which without BW's encouraging presence, turned out to be 7. I grabbed the 100s and finished my set, with 6 and 2 reps. If BW had been there, I'm sure I could have gotten a full 10 reps with the 110s, it's just psychosomatic - knowing she's there to help if I start to buckle makes a big difference.

DB Rows: 110 again for 10 +5 +3. I'm thinking this could be increased in weight again, but I'd like to see some more improvement in my chest first, just to keep things semi-balanced.

Those were the major lifts - hammer curls increased to 65s, and I did some leg exts to work my legs a bit more considering my abs are the limiting factor with front squats. Flies, I don't even remember what I lifted.

BW couldnn't lift with me, so I took her to the gym later last night so she could get her workout in. I spotted her and messed around a bit: did a unilateral farmer's walk with 100lbs, made a full lap on the track only changing hands once! It made me somehow very happy, pacing by all the people on the treadmills while I carried a huge db, puffing and panting like crazy. I also did some ab wheel rolls and a bit of triceps work, just for the hell of it. Nothing intense, just fun.

The original was awesome - and the new stuff is just as good. 2 ed has done the trick, joint pain is gone and performance doesn't seem to have been affected in the least.

Thanks for the compliment and thanks for stopping by! :wave2:

T-911: As mentioned above, no more joint issues, not even in my knees, where the majority of the problem was. I'm dosing 1 before lifting and one in late afternoon on workout days; 1 in AM, 1 in PM on recovery days. Yesterday's workout had incredible intensity - I was ferocious with the bb. So much so, that by the time I got home, my CNS felt entirely fried. But a long, hot shower, a nap and my second T-911 solved that problem.

I'm far enough into using the new stuff that I can say without hesitation that the recovery, which is one of the original's primary strengths, is equal if not superior. My strength gains have not been as overwhelming, but this could easily be due to my cold, my newness to DC, or quite simply the fact that I'm not eating 5000cals a day, like I did with my first T-911 log.

Libido isn't as powerful - more along the lines of Formex. Horny, but still discerning - unlike the original T-911, where I was like a drunk gorilla.

Anyways, what I lifted yesterday:

Deadlifts: Still getting used to the olympic form again. I'm having trouble activating my abs - it used to be I could feel it in my belly more than my lower back as I pulled up from the floor. Now, there's more stress in my lower back - BW says it's not rounding, and I don't feel like it's rounding, but there's still a definite lack of abdominal support. For next time, I'm going to focus on nothing but belly breathing and flexing my guy - if I have to reduce weight, so be it. Made some improved though: 365x9 +3 +1 +1 +1 Less reps total, but two more reps before pausing, which I'd consider a good thing.

Weighted Dips: BW +55 x11 +6 +2 Easy as pie. Upping these next time. Doing them before shoulder press is definitely the way to go - dips work more muscles, so being fresher for such a compound movement helped a lot. Felt like a monster cranking these out so easy!

Weighted Wide-Grip Pull-ups: BW+50 x10 +4 +1.5 Say what?! Yes, Resolve did just shatter ever pull-up PR he's ever set. +50 for 10 reps? Holy crap, I've never done more than 6 reps with 50lbs. My heaviest ever for WG Pull-ups was +75 for 6, and 6 is usually where my reps are for this movement, so busting out so many with 50 was awesome. Form began to deteriorate around rep 8, and I was so shot after my second rest-pause that I pretty much gave out half-way up. Sheer awesomeness.

Seated Shoulder Press: 85s x10 +5 +2 These were performed with nothing but tenacity - I was beat, but I was determined. "Hollaback Girl" was playing, I don't know much care for that song, and I used it to drive the set through. It felt great, working so hard while the guys to the left and right of me weren't even breaking a sweat with their candy-ass workouts.

Truth be told, I totally forgot about curls. After the above lifts, I was exhausted. I called it, thinking I was finished, and didn't realize I'd forgotten anything until I was back in my lab, doing sciencey stuff. It's ok, my arms got plenty of work anyways.

Nice review and great workout R. I think the biceps got their share of work in that routine.

Settin' a pull-ups PR was plenty of attention for them, I think. Thanks man.

Thank God it's the weekend - I can sleep in tomorrow. Then, FRONT SQUATS :head:

Ya, nice lifts! How is DC working for you? Enjoying it? I just wasn't feeling the low volume. Had to kick it up some, hence, IC-DC. :D

Yeah, volume is too low for any real DOMS, weight/reps are too light/high for me to move any real amount of weight. It's hard as hell on the nervous system, though. And I've been getting nauseous regularly, which is something that rarely happens to me anymore.

I'm looking forward to my high volume next month. It's a routine I affectionately call "M=DV", because I'm a nerd and Mass = Density & Volume :D With lot's of cals, I typically see lots of sarcoplasmic hypertrophy.

After a while on that, I'm thinking I may try 5/3/1 or just return to my old 8x3 routine - something more strength oriented...

Some front squat motivation....this guy is a freak!!

I love the way he just lifts the bar up like it's nothing. I really would like to know what he cycles to have that kind of raw strength.

I have his CD and his strength in every lift is off the charts.

...but considering the knee wraps, I'm certain I could hit at least 325lbs right now with them. I haven't been wrapping them recently. Haven't really had any joint issues, but I can always crank out more weight with them.

A 325 front squat is darn good man. I've never wrapped my knees - never had access to wraps or had the inclination to pick up a pair.

My workout was awesome today. I'm finally feeling better, though I still have a cough. I have some studying to do, but I'll get up a full update later. Tore up front squats! Really nailing down form on them.

subbed...very informative log so far

I love the weekends. Especially on T-911... The world beyond the bedroom fades away... ;)

<cough> Anyways, I did in fact rock some awesome front squats yesterday -

Front Squats: Warmed up well, then worked my way up with 4x6, reaching 215 for 5+1. I lost my balance "in the hole" and had to rest the bar momentarily on the safety pins before the concentric, hence the "+1." That's a 10lb increase since TUESDAY, and if I hadn't had a widowmaker staring me in the face, I know could've hit 225 for 6. I'm really perfecting form here - no undue tension in my abs, arms or shoulder now, even though I am using an Olympic stance. Widowmaker, I hit 155. I was determined to keep Olympic stance as long as possible, but BW says I only made it to rep 8 before crossing my arms. I remember it being more than that, but she was the one counting reps, not me. :(

DB Bench: 110 x9 +4 +1 I pushed beyond failure on each part of that set. I wanted 10 reps in the first part so bad, I fought hard, but couldn't quite get to lockout; same for the +4 and +1. I wanted more reps, but my body just said "nope." This is an improvement over Tuesday as - 2 more reps before resting, and I didn't drop the weight down to 100 for the subsequent parts of the set.

DB Row: 110 x12 +5 +3 Before I started this routine for this log, I hadn't done DB rows in a long time, because I simply like bb and cable rows more. But I am loving these right now - focusing on control and smoothly moving the weight, it's obliterating my traps and mid back.

Hammer Curls: 65s x10 +5 +3 I feel close to being ready to increasing the weight here, but not quite. I'd like to see a couple more reps first, then I'll bump it up. I was amused while doing these curls, as the guy sitting next to me was supersetting "concentration curls" with "overhead tri extensions" with a 65 db himself. I put them in quotation marks because he was simply making a fool of himself. Propping his elbow against his leg, he would whip his leg in push his arm up - that was a curl. And for the extrensions, the db remained firmly over his head, never more than 1-2" ROM. I've given up correcting people like him - I just openly chuckle.

Cable Flies Subbed these in. Just 90 per arm for 10 +8 +6. Nothing special.

Unilateral Calf Jumps: 60lb for 3x10 Leg press was being used, so I did these instead of my regular calf raises, basically hopping as high as you can on one foot. Works my calves like crazy. I liked these a lot, may continue to incorporate them.

Now, I'm enjoying a nice recovery day before another hectic week begins. :woohoo:

I really wanna try out some front squats. Maybe on my cruise

I've incorporated them as part of my routines for a while now, typically alternating between them and back squats. However, I'm really beginning to prefer them to back squats - if things keep going the way they've been going this last week at least.

I recall reading somewhere about you planning on taking a cruise, but don't remember exactly why... Is this a special occasion for you and the lady-friend?

:toofunny:

Resolve, I don't know if you're being facetious or are totally clueless to what type of "cruise" he's referring to.

:twak: <--me

...wow. Never even occurred to me that he could be talking about a DC "cruise." Probably still wouldn't have occurred to me if you hadn't of said something.

 I'ma chalk that one up studying too much. As my dad would say "God's just keeping me humble"

Pop sounds like he has a great way of thinking R.

hahaha bro this cracked me up :toofunny:

Yeah I have a DC cruise coming up and I'm going to try some new things out during that week and if I like them, use them in my next blast (DC).. So far on my list I have front squats and behind head rack chins. If you have any other recommendations let me know. I'm all ears :13:
