LG Sciences in trouble???

Woody Harrelson allegedely did the whole placenta-munching deal. More coagulated blood, please!

I wish you, LG Sciences, a lot of strength, wisdom, and perseverance to get through all of this unscathed :thumbsup:

Agreed.

I'm tempted to go on the FDA's "MedWatch" site and use their form for reporting serious drug/supplement effects...and tell them how 6-OXO and ATD helped me look better, feel better, and left me with nothing but improved health and made me more hopeful about a future of living with a frustrating set of genes. I really hope these substances don't get stolen from us by this omni-incompetent bunch. These are the same people who wanted us to eat trans-fat instead of milkfat...and who still say that high doses of Vitamin C are pointless.

It makes me so angry to think that this stuff that helps me so much could end up as a "back alley" purchase due to extreme bureaucratic ignorance. It's my body. Why should I be content with the body chemistry I was dealt? I am an adult, and don't require anyone's approval for trying to improve my health and sense of well-being. I choose to live by the best knowledge available to me, not according to the thrice-digested, backward-looking, money-slanted science of the FDA. I will only live once, and they've been dead wrong a lot more times than that.

Im not sure whats going on with the whole patent thing. I beleive this whole thing still has to do with that Shippley lady or whatever her name was. Were taking action to see what we can do about this. Thanks guys for all the kind words, means a lot to have your support!

MMM could you pass the placenta? I saw a special on HBO that showed placenta-eaters. Wonder if there are any elephant piss-drinkers. The feds are really being anal if they are going after something like 6oxo. Come On. Makes you wanna say screw trying to stay legal, might as well just get the real stuff.

I don't know where you came from, bro, but very good post. Well-stated. Reps for you.

...and the FDAholes can suck my 6oxo-engorged ballz. Twice.
(Then maybe go eat placenta with Cruise and Harrelson. Why the hell isn't that illegal?)

One quarter of dietary supplements purchased in a recent sampling contained traces of steroids and 11.5 percent had banned stimulants, according to a study to determine whether supplements sold across the United States are really clean.

The study was overseen by Informed-Choice, a nonprofit coalition of dietary supplements, and conducted by a British company, HFL.

HFL bought best-selling brands of a variety of supplements made by companies that were not believed to screen for banned substances as part of their routine quality control process. The study does not reveal the names of the brands or their manufacturers.

Of the 52 supplements that could be analyzed for steroids, 13 showed up with steroid contamination. The result surprised Travis Tygart, the CEO of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, who said no American athlete has tested positive because of supplement contamination since 2004.

"I think it's surprising, and hopefully they'll provide names so this illegal activity can be shut down," Tygart said.

These results come about five years after an International Olympic Committee study that sampled 240 supplements purchased in America and found 18.8 percent of them contained steroids.

"The presence of steroids and stimulants in supplement products is still very much an issue," the conclusion of the report read. "It is clear that not all supplement manufacturers follow good manufacturing practices and the necessary controls are not always implemented to ensure the safety of athletes and the general public who use the supplement products."

Kelly Hoffman, executive director of Informed-Choice, told USA Today, which first reported on the study, that banned substances can find their way into products accidentally, such as when manufacturers fail to properly clean equipment.

In all, 10 categories of supplements were tested. Those known as testosterone boosters were most susceptible to having banned substances in them; six of nine boosters contained androstenedione, which was declared illegal about three years ago.

Though amateur athletes are considered most susceptible to buying tainted products at health stores, the issue is also relative to professional sports.

It has long been default mode for players who test positive to say they used a tainted product.

Three years ago, the NFL and the players union began working with the nonprofit company, NSF International, that put supplements through a purity test and labels substances that are safe to take.

Lori Bestervelt, senior vice president and chief technical officer for NSF, said she also wasn't surprised at the results of the HFL test.

"I think there are two categories, one where people are intentionally putting them in, and another where they aren't but they don't have a good rein on the supply chain or manufacturing practices, so things can slip in," she said. "If you don't have good control of the supply chain, and you're not testing and auditing, things like this can happen."

Bestervelt said the NSF Web site provides a list of supplements that have carry the "Certified for Sport" seal, meaning they've passed that organization's rigorous testing process and are at low risk to contain banned substances.

I find it ironic that they are making some of the safest hormonals out and having this happen. Sad to hear this happen LG, best of luck with this, have nothing but good things to say with the way i've been treated in terms of the log I am running

So what exactly did they find in each product? Their press release was VERY vague...

----------------

The dietary supplements seized were marketed and distributed on-line and in retail stores under the names "Methyl 1-D," "Methyl 1-D XL," and "Formadrol Extreme XL."

The seized products previously were tested and found to contain one or more unapproved food additives and/or new dietary ingredients for which there is inadequate information to provide reasonable assurance that the ingredients do not present a significant or unreasonable risk of illness or injury.
...
FDA has not received scientific information on the safety of the seized products and cannot determine, at this time, whether they represent a hazard to consumers.

---------------

Hmm, bolded, what a surprise that is!

the bb.com version of this thread was much more entertaining ;)

hmmmmmmmm katie holmes placentaaaaaaaa / homer voice

But to get back on point here: LG, will this latest FDA witchhunt have any effect on your upcoming sublingual PCT product? I'm really looking forward to it.

Also I forgot to ask, what was in the formadrol extreme that caused them to pull it? Not that it will stop me from taking it, just curious.

I think they should ban weights at the gym. How many people have been hurt lifting those silly things?

Or how you can blow up after lifting those heavy ass things. He has been getting so strong, he must be on the DB's!

That post on bb.com was horrific. Pat Arnold is such a foul horrible human being. It's sad to see someone with so much potential be so bitter and petty.

Anyway, we are working feverishly to get things resolved.

Oh, and for all you conspiracy theorists. M1T and the rest had ZERO to do with this. Our M1P fiasco was spawned out of Balco. Balco is why the Anabolic Control Act of 2004 was passed and Balco is why Amy Shippley wrote that completely false article about us trying to cheat the Olympics. Look at my email and phone records...I don't even know ONE person in the Olympics. We were young and inexperienced at the time though... This whole thing is because we got an investigator that wanted to make a name for herself...nothing more. She didn't even ask us for compliance information which we could have provided. If you want to help, let me know! We need to keep our supplements free. However, if we want to use a new ingredient that is in question, I am forced to now go to the FDA for clearance to avoid these issues going forward.

The Media supplying false information, I've never heard of such a thing! It was written in an article so it must be true.You dirty bastards you've been feeding us horse steroids the whole time without our knowledge haven't you? Well that's what you get for poisoning us and the integrity of the Olympics. Now I hope you realize I was being very sarcastic and I don't get banned for this.

Anyone have a recap? The thread is gone and PA was banned over there.

Well, they took it down just as I was getting to the end, but it was something like this ...

-LG at first said it would all be cleared up soon, then said it would be nice if other companies could help out or at least present a united front;
-a rep for ******* suggested that PA had something to do with the seizure, without calling him by name;
-PA denied it and argued with the rep for about 30 posts, and said that the guy's shirt was gay;
-PA thought that LG Sciences was infringing his trademark on 6-OXO for a few minutes and threatened to sic a lawyer, but it was cleared up;
-PA said he wouldn't help LG: 1) because they didn't buy direct from him and 2) because with their advertising they "brought it on themselves";
-people posted their Sunday evening recipes for salmon and some baby pictures (not making this up);
-Bruce K****** was raked over the coals a few times, although he apparently had nothing to do with this;
-someone suggested that PA was angling for Bruce's job...although it was pointed out that PA has his own company to run;
-one guy jumped into the discussion, got hot and threatened to beat up a couple of other guys;
-the picture of a T-Rex flying an F-15 was posted a couple of times.

In other words, it was an informative, purposeful discussion among mature adults.

Or something.

Guess I'd better stock up on the 6OXO becuz nothing brings my woody back after a cycle better. I'd hate to see it disappear.

What does 6-OXO have to do with this ? I thought that the active AI in LG's stuff was ATD ?

nevermind. I actually took time to go back and read the article.

Damn I always wondered what a T-rex would look like flying an F-15. Now I'll never know, F*ck!

Helluva re-cap, reps to ya !

Speaking of PA .. he does seem like the gov's little ***** now .. here (Invalid Link Removed) the dude goes on and on about how he'll never 'stoop to the level' (implied) of testing the Methoxy TST because it's a BS chemical, and it's nothing but a placebo effect, and althoughh people jumped in and said their P.O.V. he kept bashing the product with no intenion of finding out what chemical it actually contains .. ..... fast forward to page 9, and he's saying, 'man, someone send me a bottle and I'll get it tested!' .. Probably just hooking up the gov with another unfulfilled search and seizure ..

Some advice for all supplement companies here. Since the FDA has shown itself to use Gestapo tactics to oppress the pursuit of better living through science, please keep this in mind.
If, one of you ever stumbles across the true Ambrosia, Food of the Gods, or Fountain of Youth, please for the sake of the free world, do NOT publicly advertise its existence. Advise your reps, your choice boards, release the product to your true market, and allow the dissemination to happen out of the publice eye.
If you play into their hands, you will be locked up in a dark hole, and only the political fatcats and their jack-booted minions will be the beneficiaries of your discovery. Fore-warned is fore-armed.

has anyone talked to their local congressman about these 'injustices' or taken any actual steps towards dietary supplement freedoms ?

Or are most ppl just venting without a cause ?

No, however now that you mention it I an going to do that. I just need to figure out how to word it right. So I bring the subject to light without bringing to much heat on the subject then next thing you know they'll want to ban the rest of the supplements just so that it's equal.

You're right. We should figure out some way to let people hear our side. It's just that the ignorance runs so deep: the assumption that creatine is a dangerous androgenic steroid, for example.

Life Extension Foundation, whatever you think of them, does a pretty good job of raising a stink about health freedom. They have a "write your Congressman" link on the site.

By the way, I saw this quote on LEF from the April 2008 Reader's Digest:

“Recent headlines have uncovered one shocking lapse after another at the Food and Drug Administration...Many of the nation’s leading doctors, scientists and lawmakers now agree that the FDA is in crisis...Lurching from one disaster to another, the 102-year-old agency learns of dangers too late and then moves too slow to remedy them...Instead of depending on the FDA, Americans are doubting it and for good reason.”

A speech given before the US House of Representatives, November 10, 2005

Mr. Speaker, I rise to introduce the Health Freedom Protection Act. This bill restores the First Amendment rights of consumers to receive truthful information regarding the benefits of foods and dietary supplements by codifying the First Amendment standards used by federal courts to strike down the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) efforts to censor truthful health claims. The Health Freedom Protection Act also stops the Federal Trade Commissions (FTC) from censoring truthful health care claims.

The American people have made it clear they do not want the federal government to interfere with their access to dietary supplements, yet the FDA and the FTC continue to engage in heavy-handed attempts to restrict such access. The FDA continues to frustrate consumers’ efforts to learn how they can improve their health even after Congress, responding to a record number of constituents’ comments, passed the Dietary Supplement and Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA). FDA bureaucrats are so determined to frustrate consumer access to truthful information that they are even evading their duty to comply with four federal court decisions vindicating consumers’ First Amendment rights to discover the health benefits of foods and dietary supplements.

FDA bureaucrats have even refused to abide by the DSHEA section allowing the public to have access to scientific articles and publications regarding the role of nutrients in protecting against diseases by claiming that every article concerning this topic is evidence of intent to sell a drug.

Because of the FDA’s censorship of truthful health claims, millions of Americans may suffer with diseases and other health care problems they may have avoided by using dietary supplements. For example, the FDA prohibited consumers from learning how folic acid reduces the risk of neural tube defects for four years after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended every woman of childbearing age take folic acid supplements to reduce neural tube defects. This FDA action contributed to an estimated 10,000 cases of preventable neural tube defects!

The FDA also continues to prohibit consumers from learning about the scientific evidence that glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate are effective in the treatment of osteoarthritis; that omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of sudden death heart attack; and that calcium may reduce the risk of bone fractures.

The Health Freedom Protection Act will force the FDA to at last comply with the commands of Congress, the First Amendment, and the American people by codifying the First Amendment standards adopted by the federal courts. Specifically, the Health Freedom Protection Act stops the FDA from censoring truthful claims about the curative, mitigative, or preventative effects of dietary supplements, and adopts the federal court’s suggested use of disclaimers as an alternative to censorship. The Health Freedom Protection Act also stops the FDA from prohibiting the distribution of scientific articles and publications regarding the role of nutrients in protecting against disease.

This legislation also addresses the FTC’s violations of the First Amendment. Under traditional First Amendment jurisprudence, the federal government bears the burden of proving an advertising statement false before censoring that statement. However, the FTC has reversed the standard in the case of dietary supplements by requiring supplement manufactures to satisfy an unobtainable standard of proof that their statement is true. The FTC’s standards are blocking innovation in the marketplace.

The Health Freedom Protection Act requires the government to bear the burden of proving that speech could be censored. This is how it should be in a free, dynamic society. The bill also requires that the FTC warn parties that their advertising is false and give them a chance to correct their mistakes.

Mr. Speaker, if we are serious about putting people in charge of their health care, then shouldn’t we stop federal bureaucrats from preventing Americans from learning about simple ways to improve their health? I therefore call on my colleagues to stand up for good health care and the First Amendment by cosponsoring the Health Freedom Protection Act.

- Ron Paul

I think what his statements were leaning towards is to the fact he would not test it unless the company that made it gave him permission because if he did and found something "uneasy" about the product, he would post it and that was a potential for him to get sued....or something of those sorts.

Another guy asked if he could test it and just tell them if he would take it or not...lol

he replied that
If it was what it claimed to be, he would not take it cuz it was bunk anyways
OR
If it wasnt what it claimed to be he would not take it cuz it was NOT what it claimed to be anyway...

So either way, he wouldnt take it so it made no sense to do the test, thereafter or whatever....haha!

That quote is true, but the FDA are just like everybody else...I tried putting myself in the spot of the FDA...wow! Now i understand the pressure of working for the FDA...Not saying that what they do is right or wrong, but you have to look at the fact that there are a gazillion different things they have to regulate...some people can barely manage a job and kids + wife...lol

The problem here is that certain "causes" gain a certain populist appeal and then people join in without educating themselves. I think of the anti-AAS crowd much the same as the anti-"assault weapons" crowd. Did you know that in CA one of the elements in deciding whether something is an assault rifle is it's appearance? Think on that for a moment.

This may be old news but this is being advertised at another site.

Last Chance to Get Methyl 1-D

(Name) received this from the FDA "At the request of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, on WednesdayU.S. Marshals seized more than $1,301,712 of dietary supplements from LG Sciences, LLC, of Brighton, Mich., because the products contain unapproved food additives and/or new dietary ingredients that cause the products to violate the law. Labeled as dietary supplements, the products are marketed for use by body builders."

The FDA later states that the product doesn't have any know issues and that the seizure was based on a couple ingredients that haven't been approved.

(NAME) has a limited supply of Methyl 1-D which has been one of the most successful bodybuilding products we carry. Once the supply of Methyl 1-D is gone, (NAME) will not be able to get any more.

With this being said will M-1D still be in the market.

We are taking the atd out of M1D and you will still be able to get it. This also goes for the formadrol.
