I like your "QUICK" shoulder workout. I know guys that couldn't get through that one.

Check out the guns! and yes I hate going to the Dr. I have white coat syndrome. my Blood pressure always goes up. I think it's because my Dad was sick for so long and remembering him getting poked and prodded all the time.

Oh man that stinks! Mine isn’t so traumatic just so many years of going to appt after appt to be basically be told “I don’t know” and the few answers I did get where “there’s nothing we can do”

The dr said I have calcium on the front of my pelvic bone right near the socket and labrum area as well as extra bone growing on my upper femur. He said there’s almost always a tear if he sees calcium buildup but I need an MRI to see that. I will get an MRI after the first of the year so I can take advantage of using my deductible. Options for possible relief are physical therapy to strengthen surrounding muscles and/or a cortisone shot (done through ultrasound) ...other than that would be surgery to remove buildup and repair tear (if there) and that recovery is 6-12 months.

Sorry to hear that! Maybe the therapy will work and you can avoid surgery? Glad I only have a bad shoulder, Couldn't imagine a problem with a joint as big as the hip.

Cortisone shots helped my arthritic knee, but two shots under the knee cap with what appeared to be a 2 foot long needle was no bueno. Hope you get things taken care of Kat.

And Flex Friday pics are always welcome!! (Way better than lookin at Studhorse's ugly mug)

Thanks guys! I’m going to do all I can to avoid surgery! I have a friend who’s wife works at a chronic pain management clinic. Going to get a referral there and see what they can do as well.
SFreed I’ve had one in my shoulder and the needle is definitely long! Haha I can’t imagine the size for the hip but luckily I’m not scared of needles.

On a good note, weight is dropping again! Yay!!

Cortisone shots have helped me a lot in the past !! Good luck Kat !!

More good news- House is coming along! They did drywall this week so it’s looking more like a real house now! Also got the drawing for landscaping and such back. All very exciting stuff! Invalid Link Removed

Kicking Ass Young Lady! House is looking great, and hopefully you can get that hip lined out. Like we talked about that one day, if it comes down to needing the surgery that 6-12 months is WELL WORTH IT!!! I was out for 8 months after my first shoulder surgery, I have to say it was well worth it to be able to train the way that I love to again.

Ewwww......You're all sweaty

Another great workout kat!!

Haha I’m sure it was entertaining. One guy and his friend came up and told me I was more of a man than he was...his friend said I know, that’s why I didn’t interrupt her! ROFL

My body hurts!!

That means you're doing something right!

Or something wrong...

I wonder if you list out the things he does that you think are stupid regularly... I know he has NEVER been a fan of your workouts but we know why too! :)

He likes BBW's and you are now a BW, you dropped the first B on him... B being for BIG!

Best response to that is "Your face is stupid!" Nobody can beat childhood I'm rubber and your glue logic... Instant win. ;)

Well do like me, and tell him like I tell the wife, come and do my workout just once

The goal is peace in the home not giving her Ol' Man an inferiority complex. :D

I have the same issues with my wife. She doesn't like it, doesn't understand it and has no problem pointing out what a waste of time (in her opinion) it is. I would have thought that having a 54 year old husband who is in relatively decent shape would have made her happy, but apparently not.

Right.

I honestly think that a big part of all of that with spouses is that they simply hate having ANYTHING that competes with them for our time! They may not even actually want our attention but they DO want to feel like the priority in our lives. The dedication fitness requires means it has to be prioritized too, and they simply do not like when that priority takes precedence over them or one of their priorities since they do not value ours (lifting).

They are just never happy. I used to be pretty built, but recently lost a lot of muscle. My wife loves pointing out how much smaller I am now, but gets mad when I go to the gym. It makes no sense to me. Just can't win.

Well what is she doing that improves the quality of time at home to keep you there? If nothing then she isn't trying to resolve the situation either just complaining, so just keep lifting and do it for you!

Too me it's like "Okay I won't go to the gym, what are we going to do now to replace that activity together? What activity are you going to PARTICIPATE IN WITH ME NOW?" Sitting down and being lazy in front of the television is not an option either. If that is what you want then you can expect me to keep going to the gym and leaving you on the couch wathing TV... We can both be happy doing something we do not want to do together, and that is actually healthy for our relationship!

Man that sucks. My wife was the opposite. She always supported my working out.(except when we dating 27 years ago she had a little problem with me choosing the gym over her sometimes) about 2 years ago she was like I want to go to the gym. Will you make me a workout and teach me. I was like sure. Now she is hooked and when I need a day off she calls me a puss!
