Not that hard to believe - not all females are aware of such things (I know for hell I wasn't and that was IN-person as well), because sometimes being friendly or "nice" to others is always taken the wrong way...

I can't say where his response was coming from, but some people simply do not understand others, nor do they want to see anyone happy or successful (many times because they are not) and seek to bring others down just because they can. Don't ever question yourself and your right to be or deserve happiness - EVERYONE has that right and deserves it, whether they think or believe it or not. There comes a time when you "outgrow" those who have been "friends" because you realize your life is on a different path or you are evolving "away" from them to a "higher level of consciousness" - you should never feel bad or guilty of realizing this and removing anything from your life that no longer "vibes" or "fits" with the energy you are and want to be. Anyone that expects you to be unhappy or seeks to be a negative or toxic force in your life - not just people, but things - should be eliminated, so that you can live the life you want and "deserve".

Thank you, everyone! You all are correct because I felt like I had to justify my happiness to him. I decided to let him go along with some other toxic people in my life. I no longer want their negative energy affecting my life. I simply don't want that hate in my heart. I can no longer give my loyal friendship to those who don't appreciate it. :) Thank you so much!

Thought for the day:
I went to bed with no worries on my mind and woke up with happiness in my heart. I danced around my kitchen while I cooked some eggs and sang along to my new favorite song in the shower. Why did it take me so long to feel complete? I don't have the answer but I do know that I am finally at peace with my demons. :D

Sometimes we have to be grateful for the broken dreams, the unanswered prayers, the multiple detours, the love that died, the friendship that no longer exists, and the heart breaks along the way. Without all of them, we wouldn't be who we are.

You should never have to justify your happiness to ANYone! I too have learnt only too recently re lack of loyalty and respect and no more! Love your final thoughts.

Releasing (ejecting) toxic people from your life is such a great feeling. Had to do the same myself this year with some close friends and it made a huge difference in my life and how I felt day to day. The initial step was hard though.

Misery loves company. It is a difficult thing to do but being friends with people who do not value your friendship is more difficult.

He is currently going through something that he caused himself. I tried really hard to be there for him but after he said that to me, I became distant and I don't feel bad at all. I don't think he liked me saying, "We deserve everything we are willing to put up with."

Going to check out this gym today! It's owned by IFBB Pro Kris Dim and is only 2 mins from work. :D I'm super excited because I can train during lunch, it'll be open 24 hours, and will have everything I need. :D ????

The 24 hour fitness is only 2 mins from my house but I can't go back to that gross place. I've been looking for a new 24 hour gym for a while. :D

There is a difference in being "with you" as you go through things, and going through it with you. I probably would have told him "My statement was about me not anyone else. I may not be better than you because I am happy, but I AM a better friend than you because I would have celebrated your happiness and not tried to bring you back down. Go be self absorbed and petty somewhere else."

Kleen, you're right. I never thought of it that way. I guess I put his friendship on a pedestal and didn't want to believe that he wasn't really there for me. Thank you! Oh well, you weave through the bad and keep the good!

Going to my electric run tonight. It should be fun with parties and DJs and meeting new people. :D
 
A little late on the discussion but he definitely is not a true friend to try to bring you down like that! I am like you-...Too often we get caught up on trying to please others and neglect what is truly important. All the while others, like your "friend," are out there trying to bring others down to make themselves feel better! The sooner we realize that, it will allow us to disregard their remarks to bring us down but still be that encouragement to them that we want to be! I love your heart!!

My gym is close to me and I love it! The 24hrs would be awesome!!
 
I have nothing but respect for you P and what you had to do. Some times it's hard to cut loose of the ones you try and hold on to but aren't getting the respect back. Hope your week goes great!!!

Always remember misery loves company. It seems in this day and age, people love to create a champion just to tear them down and watch them fall. It seems people get enjoyment out of killing others dreams and watching them have a meltdown. The moment I seen someone posted someone dying from gunshots wounds on Youtube I was done. People for some reason have a hard time being happy for someone just because they have achieved what they feel is happiness. Why? Because they failed. Since they failed everyone else should as well. I can go on and on about this but you get what everyone is saying. Do you, do what makes you feel happy and surround yourself with people who have the same goals and achievements. Look around yourself. Name five friends who are making the money you want, live in a house you want or have the relationship you wish to have with a person. If you can't name five, YOU NEED A NEW CIRCLE.

Thank you, you're completely right! My group of friends is dwindling down and I love it. I don't give a damn to reach out to anyone anymore or entertain their a**es by listening and giving them advice. That sh*t completely drained me and the friendship that I gave them was never given back to me. Helllll yes, I'm damn tired of talking about your a** all effn damn day. I'm tired of their problems becoming my problems. Byeeeeee!!! ???

As I get older, the quantity of my friends has been going down (mostly by choice), but the quality going up. Life is so much better when you put value into relationships that have more depth and meaning. I used to be a DJ/promoter, and so I was trying to know as many people as I could then..and most of the time I knew everyone by name when out and about... but honestly it's much better having strong interpersonal relationships, than just to be 'known' or to be popular.

Love it! I've never been the type who wanted a lot of "friends". I just fell into the role of being the one everyone comes to. I'm glad you've discovered this as well! :)




Checked out that gym and I didn't like it, but I found another one and its motto is, "training the old school way!" It's way cheaper, a smaller atmosphere, the hours aren't that great, but I feel like it would be amazing for me. :D fingers cross!!!

Yes!!!!! The gym I currently go to is all about family and it costs me $50 a month with an annual update fee of $30. This one is $25 a month for one person and $30 for 2 people. I can adjust my schedule to fit it! :D

We are considering moving to a different gym too. It's definitely more old school. The weight floor is all by itself & the machines & cardio equipment are in a different room/area. The equipment is older, but all functional. The trainer I do my night classes with switched, and now I have to pay $5 per class if I want to go. So, I rather pay one membership...not one plus some. I like that is has an older feel & look to it!! I hope you've found d one that fits you well too!!
 
I used to train (25 years ago) at an old school gym, you had to pack your own toilet paper in your gym bag and if you wanted heat in the winter bring a few gallons of kerosene !!! and after all that it was a Great Place To Train !!
 
My current gym only has power racks, flat benches, barbells, kettlebells, ropes, prowlers, and chalk, lots of chalk. We're getting olympic plates and aerodyne bikes in a month though :D This is all I'll ever need. Keeping things simple.

I love this freaking gym! The staffs are super friendly, everyone minds their own business, nobody is really on their phone, they re-rack their weights, it's not busy at all (maybe 30 people), and I feel completely at home.

There's motivation posters, old school body building pics, old school Arnold pics, even old school paper towel dispensers (the kind we had in elementary school). I'm sooooo freaking in love!!!!

I AM HOME AND MY MOTIVATION IS BACK!
 
Attitude sounds GREAT and that is half the battle, now hit them weights !!

I love my new gym so much, I ended up hitting 3 body parts! I haven't felt this motivated in a long time. Some guy even came up to me and told me to slow down because I'm making all the guys look bad. Awwww ????

I cannot tell you how freaking amazing this gym is! Super drama free and at 5:30, there was about 20 people only. Nobody is sitting on a machine using their phones and everyone is so nice. This is a dream gym for everyone! ????
