Gotta give a shout out to Apex Alchemy. @nostrum420, and @Renew1 for the opportunity to log Ursa Major! You guys were beyond generous with 4 bottles!!

So, a little about me currently - I am working to build up my calories after years of dieting...after some health issues, surgeries, and other unforeseen things, I am actually the heaviest I’ve been in years. Thanks to @TheSolution the reverse dieting has gone great so far up 1200 calories a day and only ~up 6lbs. My goal with adding Ursa Major is to help with the muscle gains and hope to lean out some in the process.

As suggested, I will be starting with a low dose of .5ml am/pm for the first couple of days and increasing from there. Will be applying to upper chest/shoulders/upper arms- alternating locations.

Training is 4 days a week ...currently focused around each main lifts- Bench/Deadlifts/Squats with a day dedicated to shoulders.(cause I want bigger shoulders ) Cardio is only 15 mins 3x’s a day steady state.

Macros are currently 150p/365c/55f

Final review for Ursa Major:

I really enjoyed my run with Ursa Major. It ended up being right about 6 weeks sponsored but I am continuing on my own. Throughout the run I was applying 1.5ml twice a day. I applied either to arms/shoulders or back of knees and shins. Measuring is very easy with the marked dropper. Only had a very slight irritation on my arms about a week in. This was before alternating application locations. Only lasted that one day and never reoccured.

The smell is nice and it absorbs quickly. Unfortunately one bottle only last about 11 days when dosed at 3ml a day. Full price that gets pretty costly but they do have BOGO sales fairly often. I do wish there was a bigger bottle option just so you don’t waste so many glass bottles! Haha No negative sides. Only odd one was a change in the smell of my sweat and urine...slight increase in body temperature as well as slight calming/mood boosting effect.

Goal was to loose fat while trying to gain muscle. That’s exactly what happened! Calories went from ~ 2500 to 2750 Scale increased about 1-2 pounds but I am down 5 inches. Most of that was in my waist and hips. Gained 1/2” in my glutes and quads. The ability to be able to use a fat loss product in a deficit, maintenance, or surplus is huge!!

So overall very very happy with my results, if you couldn’t tell by the fact I’ve already purchased more. Haha Thank you guys at Apex Alchemy @nostrum420 @Renew1 as well as all of you guys that followed along throughout my log!!

First dose was last night before bed and applied again this morning before the gym. The smell is actually pretty pleasant IMO. I use a good bit of essential oils(actually a wholesaler for Doterra) So, I enjoy the smell of most oils. Nice light oil feel that absorbs very well. I dropped half in each hand to apply to each side last night but decided to use the dropper to apply little by little this morning. I think that will be my go to approach.

I didn’t notice much last night but I was sweating like crazy in the gym this morning. I train in a hoodie- so it could have just been hot but just noting for info.

Today was Dead/Back day

I am still recovering from a head cold so I kept things lighter but had a great workout.

I love Costco.
Me too! I used to always go to Sam’s but the fresh food section is so much better. Luckily work has a membership to both, so I take advantage of that!

thanks for the tag, Kat....will be following.
Of course!! I’m glad you’re here!

I like their 12 lb rotisserie chickens!

:oops::D
Haha no joke!

Same! I have to plan a good hour or more to be able to look at everything- even if I only need a few things.

Here’s a more official update...
Yesterday was a rest day training wise. I actually find that I’m pretty tired on Wednesday’s so I enjoy sleeping in until 5:50am. I even took a nap at lunch. Still trying to shake off the allergies.

Applied 1 ml am/pm yesterday morning. Today I bumped up to 1.5.

I am noticing a little warming effect(systematically) as well as a nice cooling effect(on the skin’s surface) - this is likely from the peppermint(and poss the eucalyptus) essential oils in the formula. I notice the cooling effect most with the night application right after my shower. I really like it!

I will also note, now that I’m getting closer to a full dose, I am pretty much covering inner arms and upper chest. So no rotation of application areas really. I am not seeing any drying of the skin or skin anything either so that’s great.

Here’s today’s training

Push press
45/75 wu
95x5
115x3
125x1x2 sets
115x3x3 sets
**1st rep on 125 went up fast and smooth failed 2 attempts at another rep and then again on the second set. Ugh! Just wasn’t the day!

Klokov press
45x12x2 sets

Tri set:
DB shoulder press
35x8x4 sets

Lateral raises
5x25x4 sets

Band pull-a-parts
25x4 sets

SS
Machine reverse flyes
85x12x4 sets

Iso lat shoulder press
55x6x4 sets

Rear delt destroyer set (dropset)
20x60, 10x30, 5x20, band holds/pulse to failure

Face down front lateral raises
15x15, 10x20, 5x30 dropset

Cardio/ab work

Our church gets a huge donation for the food pantry from one of the local distributors. Sometimes there is a good bit leftover so I get some!

It’s a quick easy weeknight meal!
As for the Ursa Major, the target is to help reduce fat and maintain muscle. Has some anti inflammatory benefits as well as anti carcinogenic benefits as well. The main ingredient is ursolic acid

Day 4:
Application dose officially 2ml. Applied upon waking/before the gym to inner arms and shoulders.

2 questions- any other suggested areas of application? Is it thin skin areas and/or areas with least fat? A bit random but I started noticing a smell to my urine. Has anyone else noticed that? Lol

Here’s today’s workout...

Squats
45/95x10 wu
135x8
165x8
195x3
225x3x5 sets
135x8x2 pause squats

Superset from 165 up with GHR to keep the hamstrings active. (9Sets of 10)

Leg press
5pps(553)x15
6pps(643)x12
7pps x12, 6pps x12, 5pps x15, 4pps x20, 3pps x25 Dropset
**these were SS with GHR as well (3 sets of 10)

Calf press
3pps x25x3 sets

BB Hip thrusts
275x10x3 sets

Superset
GHR 4 sets of 12

Leg extensions
130x12x3 sets
55x12 single leg

Great workout. Strength is definitely not back 100% but squats felt good. Was a RPE8 throughout. Rest between sets of squats was ~2 mins. Ghr is one of my favorite machines and the gym I’m usually at on leg day doesn’t have one. Got a bit overheated by the end...Energy was GONE. Can’t tell in the pic but tank was soaked!!

Good check in this week. I assume you will drop weight as usual after rebounding back to normal.
More than likely we will bump calories again given how your physique is looking sharp in the mirror since we bumped you from 1400 to 2600 and barely have added any fat.
Great work as always and thank you for trusting the process :)

Wait, how can your tank be soaked when people say women don't sweat, they just glow? 🤔 Not calling you a liar but I'm definitely saying that someone isn't telling the truth. 😂😂😂

You definitely have a glow but I think it might be more of a glisten......like you had a good workout.

Forearms, shins and the tops of your feet are all good targets. Like you said, anywhere the skin is relatively thin.

When I'm burning fat my urine takes on a different smell especially if I've had coffee.

My legs hate me today!!! 🤣 ...rest day from the gym. Just working around the house and in the yard.

Applied 1ml last night after my shower and again this morning first thing. Still no skin irritation Or even drying out. That is huge to me- with thyroid problems dry skin is a huge issue for me so I’m glad this doesn’t further increase the dryness.
