Wikipedia is shutting down there English language pages for the day. Craigslist is also putting a big banner or splash page asking everyone to contact their congressman. I have already.

I wonder if the 'news' will report the blackout. Certainly it's not entertainment industry

I've seen or heard it mentioned a few times in the last couple days. Not headline or anything, but it is a story

That and terrible music. Artists, in general, rely on 1 or 2 singles to carry a **** album instead of making an entire album of good music. There are exceptions, but by and large thats the case.

Same here.
Seems like big brother is trying to exert control.
China already has that Golden Umbrella crap or whatever it is called.
U.S. .... no more land of the free.

Glad to see this is getting so much attention! SOPA/PIPA is such an infringement on our 1st amendment rights, IMO, not to mention the effect it would have on global flow of information.

If your so inclined, give your senators/representatives a call and/or email to express your displeasure and urge them to oppose this legislation!

There are senators such as Rand Paul who have stated they will do everything in their power to filibuster the bills.

SOPA/PIPA has momentarily been defeated, but Lamar Smith, the SAME legislator responsible for those atrocious bills, is also sponsoring the PCIP Act.

The PCIP act is essentially Big Brother for the internet - everything you do would be recorded and monitored by your ISP and accessible without warrant to the government. It's a violation of our Freedoms on a terrible scale.

More can be read about it here (amongst other places):
PCIP Act Article

Please call and/or write your congressmen, expressing your disappointment and concern over the PCIP Act's ramifications.

Additionally, on an international scale, the ACTA is being signed into law by multiple countries, which will change and inhibit the free-flow of information that is currently made available by the internet.

If you want the internet to remain free, these bills must not be passed. We have a right to privacy and to share information without fear of recompense, surveillance or government-mandated filtering. These are policies that would pass in North Korea or China - they fly in the face of everything American.
