Hyde’s Strength Odyssey

Day 17
BW 263.4

Up 16lbs since this began, so things are going well in that department. Not sure where my bench max is at right now, but I have survived all of the bench work as planned so far on the Predator.

Waiting on final blood work results for CBC & lipids still, but my liver, kidney, mineral, blood sugar, prostate, thyroid, and vitamin D levels are great. I raised my daily D3 intake from 12,000iu to 22,000 and levels went from 47 to 60, so I can probably go much higher still (ideal range is 30-100). My fasting glucose and thyroid are insane on the GW, Trest, & Tren, which corroborates how I am ripping through so much fuel so easily.

My ferritin (which effectively shows your available iron levels) is very low still from donating 3 months ago (~25 I believe), so hoping my blood isn’t getting too thick because I am not even close to being able to donate safely. This is why you need to do bloodwork and not mindlessly donate like they beg you to - remember, that service is still a business. I need to start eating steaks routinely again. I have not used any IP6 in eons, just not been consuming red meat as a staple.
Beef liver can be a great way to add extra iron in. That is of course if you like it 😂

Haven’t endured a 3-hour session in a long time, so I was pleased with that. Not that I believe that’s optimal; it’s just what it took to get the work in (plus accessories I missed on Friday). Took a little fortitude to gut it out.

Those ones you gutted out are often some of the most appreciated ones once you finish. Rest up and fuel up. Like I have to tell you that. LOL

Do you guys prefer traditional straps or versa grip style?

Trying to come up with Xmas gift ideas for people to get me.. don’t have any hobbies so stuck for ideas lol

I've never thought of SS'ing db laterals with bench, I think because I try to preserve the shoulders until I'm ready to hammer them. how did this go? do you like that combo?

killer session. Love me some good long ones but that is crazy long. Did you run any juice/candy intraWO or something or is the gear enough to keep you firing on all 8 cylinders for 3hrs?

Total gym workout lol. Got dang man!

I definitely prefer a versa gripps style grip. Much easier to cinch in tight, judge equal distance between hands, and just easier to use plus can be used for wrist support during pressing. They are really helpful in this respect on days my wrists want to bite me it stops it immediately if I put them on.

Traditional: flip a single revolution, crank once to tighten, and go.

I also do not need straps on any machine work of any kind, or any free weight pressing/holding. Only some free weight pulling/rowing.

I've never thought of SS'ing db laterals with bench, I think because I try to preserve the shoulders until I'm ready to hammer them. how did this go? do you like that combo?

Pressing is basically all front delt, so super setting the side work didn’t cost me strength. I needed several minutes between heavy sets of bench regardless, so I was already recovered from laterals as long as I did them as soon as I finished a set of bench.

I ran 100% more intra than usual. Normally I do 1 big rice krispy treat on the drive & drink 50-75g Karbolyn intra. Been adding a second krispy sometimes lately. For this I ate a cliffbar at home, had my normal drive krispy, drank 100g Karbolyn, and had another Krispy mid workout. You gotta pack your lunch for sessions like this.

12/11/23 - Day 19
BW 266.8

Took my third shot of 500mg primo yesterday, and ate like I’m trying to become heavier than ever. Up a full 19lbs from start with the help of Mk677 water weight.

Lipids came back & LDL has dropped 53.6% from March, from 170s down to 82. Thanks to 5mg Ezetimibe since then, 10mg GW the last 6 weeks, my nutraceutical regiment, and not using any SARMs that caused the massive elevation in the first place. Trigs are also lower than ever at 79, likely due to GW. Usually around 90s. HDL is only 29…but really, what do you expect? Nothing is without cost, especially steroids.

My CBC sample was clotted, so no idea how thick my blood is but…with ferritin sub 30, I cannot even consider donation, so I will have to raise it with diet first. I have been doing lots of frequent dairy and polyphenol intake throughout the day for many months now, which is surely the culprit combined with lower iron food. I will need to eat red meat frequently and away from dairy or support supplements.

makes sense, I think I just usually treat it same as deads, where I don't pre fatigue my biceps until after I'm done. I just realized i do often warm up with 10lb plates for laterals and forwards, and snatch at times, and will throw them inbetween my warm up sets to really get things flowing.

I ran 100% more intra than usual. Normally I do 1 big rice krispy treat on the drive & drink 50-75g Karbolyn intra. Been adding a second krispy sometimes lately. solid, I like the idea of the krispy treat. I have been known to toss in an orange juice and keep gummy bears in my gym bag. lately I've been on a cranberry kick. I'm craving a good 2-3hr gym session though. trying to get one together with my normal lifting buddy and my boy one of these weekends.

on your last bulk eating became like work, how is that going for you right now?

Like f*cking work

As soon as I added the 20mg Tren, appetite dropped hard. But I also think 5,000 calories is just a lot to process consistently - I have regained 19lbs in 19 days.

Took an Anadrol50 about 2 hours before bench today. This was the first day 320 has felt light, that explosive AAS-driven “pop” anyone who’s ever used orals will understand. Which is good, because this is now the lighter day going forward in the Predator. For context, today I was able to rep 285x10 easily after 5 triples at 320; 21 days ago I did 275x10 as my top set after triples at 275.

Seeing some progress with my elbow ROM in my ability to do the neutral closegrip db benching now. My ART doctor was also very pleased with my ability to do pushups again. There’s a lot less compensatory shoulder-rolling and I’m not getting forearm pain either, so we’re bringing them back into my training some.

I feel like I'm the only person in the world that likes beef liver
You are definitely one of the few. If I want sand in my mouth, I will go to the beach.
Just you and liver king 🤣
Now we are just insulting people eh? 😂😂😂

@Hyde, congrats on the recent bench, and ART/Elbow progress. Also, gaining 1lb a day is HUGELY impressive.

lol my thinking was more chalky than sandy but yeah I get it lol.
my wife made a ton of liver meatballs one time as a way to try to get herself to eat liver. she couldn't stand them so I got to eat all of them, I was in heaven 😅😅

but I am a fat kid at heart. being lean isn't as easy as eating food for me

Glad the ART is helping with your ROM….that should continue to make a world of difference in training, especially your bench. Yeah orals can definitely put you in the zone quick. My problem is I just have to be careful when I start blasting through a workout when it’s easier than anticipated, because I get fired up and my old butt will over do it if I’m not careful. But it looks like this cycle has really been a good one for you, and all the gear is working good together. With as quickly as you added back your weight, and adding Anadrol pre workout to your Trifecta (Test, Tren, Trest) stack, I see your strength and power exploding through a lot of workouts, and probably benching more than 405 when all is said and done. I’ve actually never tried the Predator workout, but I like the way it sounds.

Thankfully the workouts are very challenging for me - it’s a lot of work that is exhausting to get through. So it’s really just that the absolute strength is rising quickly that I need to watch. Ie, during the actual sets I try to be very mindful of not straining & only doing what needs to be done to improve, not trying to hit failure. But I have to keep willing myself onwards to get all of the total sets in. These are full 2-hour sessions.

I also did a ton of very heavy bench work for months on end up until only 9 weeks ago, taking ~95% singles at least every other week. So would like to hope only 6 weeks off heavy training would still have my tendons reasonably conditioned for hard efforts.

I think it would you would think for a short period of that initial break the body would continue to try to increase collagen production just in case you put it through that again. Supercompensation during a recovery period is a wonderful thing. So, I would think at a minimum you are probably equally prepared for the heavy loads if not possibly more.

12/13/23 - Day 21
BW 267.4

Officially back to my full morning weight from the week of the last competition, where I benched 180kg/396.8lbs. Happy to be back here in just 3 weeks, and I am confident I will be able to continue to gain into a PR bodyweight to better prepare me to take out a 405 bench.

Upper body muscles are sore all over from bench day, hip is aching from primo PIP, something is always sore from the daily slinpin shots, I’m lethargic as all get out from MK (and probably gear & diet), sleep is so-so from being so heavy, but…. it’s 30* here, yet I only need to wear shorts & a tshirt everywhere, no coat.

So I got that goin’ for me, which is nice…

Winter time is a great time to be at a heavy weight because yeah go outside 😂 come summer time there is no such luck! Do you use a C pap machine? Hear all the talk about them anymore.

Noooo, this is coincidentally the 4th time I’ve had this conversation with other lifters this week lol. I really want one, but I have been too lazy to seek out how to get a script online through a home test. This is definitely what needs to happen; even if I was down to 220 I would benefit from one.

4 plate inbound! I’m stoked for you man, this is going to be so rewarding!

I think it will be. I mean it’s not like I intend to quit lifting or this is the last bench PR I ever intend to have…but everything else feels like I’m fine that it happens whenever I’m ready for it. This is something different, a true bucket list goal.

I know when I get off that bench, it’s going to be just like every other PR - a moment of happiness, then done & on with the day, nothing different. But that’s not what it’s about, because that would never be worth all of this. This is something that keeps me up at night, a challenge that needs to be overcome. I am not built for this: I have deadlifter’s arms and could not bench 45lbs for a single when I began. This is about choosing to do something difficult for me, and finding a way anyway.

A lot of the time the bigger the challenge the more drive there is to obtain it and obviously the more reward on the back end!

Getting CPAP changed my life overall and lifting. One of the best things I ever did.

Yeah you gained that body weight, and bench leverage, back quick. I know that extra body weight helps keep you warm in those freezing temperatures, but I bet Tren and Trest are heating you up pretty good as well.🔥

I walked out of the gym Friday in my sweaty tshirt, and I realized there was steam just radiating off of my body once outside.

Right. Black and white photo. Maybe a vid w some good background music. Like from the original Incredible Hulk when he’s hitchhiking at the end. I saw that 30plus yrs ago so maybe butchered the recall???

It sounds right to me, but it has been about the same amount of time too, so no clue if it is correct. LOL

You’re one of the smartest guys I know and I’ve never slept around you so I could be off base here but you should definitely bring this to the top of your list! With how big you get I am sure you need one - hell going from 190-200lbs was a big enough difference for me that I am trying to get another study done.

I’ve done 2 at home tests and they both came back “slight apnea/need lab test” and I always put it off. Been around a loot of lifters lately who say it literally changed their life, plus my wife can’t sleep with my snoring lol

Say all that to say insurance may require an in-lab test if you want them to pay for the cpap!

Day 22
BW 264.8

Woke up yesterday feeling very bad. Pulse was very high, everything achier and creakier than usual, very lethargic with no appetite or eating capacity. Like I was actually sick, & it was very easy to decide to skip training lower body training. Then found out my stepdaughter’s friend who had been over the day prior to lift tested positive for COVID. Regardless of what it was, I needed to rest.

Accordingly, weight was down today, but woke up feeling night & day better. Systolic BP was still a bit high at 129/79, but pulse was back down to a “normal for now” 79. Administered 36mg of Trest Ace solo today instead of the usual cocktail, no complaints so far with that at all. Planning to bench tomorrow on schedule.

Man, hopefully it was just your body telling you to rest and not COVID. Glad you woke up feeling better, probably was just a much needed rest day..

Yeah lots of Covid going around me lately, been putting people down for several days even healthy ones. So feeling better already is a good sign! Like already mentioned maybe just a nice reminder to take some rest because you’re certainly going hard lol

Bench was feeling very strong today. 2 weeks ago I had to take a handoff to touch n go 340 for a double; today I could confidently self-unrack & pause it for a triple. During my back off AMRAP I believe I wasn’t staying tight enough, getting sloppy with the light weight, and my subscap was protracting progressively until I felt a sharp pain on rep 9. Racked it and cut all further pressing for the day - too much pain when trying to do any other planned accessories.

ART doc believes the strain to be my serratus anterior, where it resides under the subscap, and gave me a couple drills to flush it over the weekend to help get it healed up for Tuesday. He also got a good bit of grit broken up on the top of my bicep.

12/16/23 - Day 24
BW 262.4

I am dropping the Tren Ace. Appetite has been poor since introducing it at 20/day, making gaining weight a bit of an uphill battle. Still, I was managing. But then my mix ran out, so Thursday just did 36mg Trest - no issues. Then yesterday, bench day, did 50mg Tren Ace and a tab of Anadrol. Kind of just alternating bigger shots of one compound each day but similar total mg between days.

Man, that was not a fun ride. Training was great (besides the serratus tweak), but it absolutely demolished my appetite and made me feel truly unwell mentally later on. Not just very irritable on that acutely administered dosage, but unable to be happy. It bothered my gut, killed my appetite way worse than Anadrol solo, and just made me feel bad body & soul.

Everything I love about Tren Base, is why I hate Ace - base goes in, you murder the weights, and it’s out in a few hours. Ace just keeps you in constant kill mode. Obviously I can just do the smaller daily shots, but if even that is ruining my appetite it’s got to go.
