I don't think God likes women much. I would hate to have been one in bible times. I can't believe God was assisting with rape.
1 A day of the LORD is coming, Jerusalem, when your possessions will be plundered and divided up within your very walls.
2 I WILL GATHER all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.
Zechariah 14:1-2
I would still hate to be a woman in bible times...
28 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay her father fifty shekels[a] of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.
Deuteronomy 22:28-29
I always thought slavery was wrong, but the bible gave permission so I guess it was OK.
Leviticus 25:44-46
44 “However, you may purchase male and female slaves from among the nations around you. 45 You may also purchase the children of temporary residents who live among you, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, 46 passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat them as slaves, but you must never treat your fellow Israelites this way.
you are either ignorant or resentful/hateful of God. Either way why is it necessary to come into a thread lie this with the sole intent of instigating? Are you bored or just a complete douche bag? or perhaps both?
He's a troll.

Proverbs 19:22 (King James Version)
22The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.
Proverbs 12:22 (King James Version)
22Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.
I haven't twisted or lied about anything, just quoted some of my favorite scriptures.
As for the verse about women- if you are reading scipture YOU MUST READ IT IN CONTEXT
to take a verse and read it out of context can distort its intended meaning
Trust in The Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding- my fav verse
My God is a jealous God, expecting our obedience and worship. I don't know who you think you are talking to, as well verse Christians know very well the just vengeance and wrath that He has cast upon the disobedient.People always ask why God allows so much suffering. The truth is that he always has, and has been behind it. I believe in God but I don't sugar coat it. I accept God and all of his qualities-most people don't want to think of anything but a peaceful god. The old testament shows a little more about his personality than love, turn the other cheek and forgiveness. He was the god of Armies. Most people don't know the depth of the God they worship. The topic is Favorite Bible Quotes. The scriptures I quote are in your bible and shouldn't offend anyone. Its history and God allowed it. I haven't twisted or lied about anything, just quoted some of my favorite scriptures.
Matthew 10:34-36
34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn
“‘a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—
36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’
Right on brother!
You know man.....I have thought about this exact same issue recently and wondered IF I would have been like the majority and thought Jesus was a charlatan, heretic or false prophet or something.
That said, to touch Jesus's hand, or hear Him speak, or be in His presence would have been an absolutley INCREDIBLE experience. BUT, I can't help but wonder IF I would have been foolish enough to use too much caution as "who is this Man who proclaims to be GOD"....you know?
Proverbs 18:2 - A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.
Then the Lord God said, “Look, the human beings have become like us, knowing both good and evil. What if they reach out, take fruit from the tree of life, and eat it? Then they will live forever!”
Genesis 3:22

1 Corinthians 3:16-20 -
16) Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? 17) If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple.
18) Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. 19) For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, "He catches the wise in their craftiness," 20) and again, "The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile."
Matthew 15:8-9
8 “‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
9 They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
Revelation 6:8
i like the darker parts of the bible, i've got issues.
Omni, I feel you are intentionally posting Scriptures out of context in an attempt to evoke a negative response. Please do not misconstrue the message of the verse by only posting a selected tidbit from the entire chapter.

This. You did not simply quote a scripture you qualified each and every one with a snarky comment designed(by you) to instigate. Your contention that you were merely quoting scripture is a falsehood. I apologize to the OP for derailing the thread. I was not wise enough to not bite even though I knew I was being baited. God bless you all and good night.
Going along with your post bucknuts
Luke 4:*5 "And he led him up, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said unto him, To thee will I give all this authority, and the glory of them: for it hath been delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. 7 If thou therefore wilt worship before me, it shall all be thine. 8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, It is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. In scripture satan is referred to as prince/ruler of this world, I always took this verse as proof of that. When the offer is made to Jesus he never rebukes satan's claim that it all belongs to him, which he obviously would know very well if it were not the case.
but thank God he didnt leave us alone
John16:7"Nevertheless i tell you the truth;it is expedient (advantageous) for you that i go away, for if i go not awaythe Comforter(Holy Spirit) will not come unto you;but if i depart,i will send him to you"
Acts1:8 "But you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you"
Romans8:1 "there is therefore now no condemnation to thosewhich are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit"

You got it bro. There's plenty of other scriptures that back that up also. Just a few.
John 12:31 "Now there is a judging of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out."
John 14:30 "I shall not speak much with YOU anymore, for the ruler of the world is coming. And he has no hold on me,"
2nd corithians 4: "among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through."
