For sure, man. I talk to my wife about this stuff constantly (just because of years of trial and error). I actually like the basis of Weight Watchers, but like more emphasis on macro breakdown. But that may be a place for her to start.
The women in my office do it and my mom did with a lot of success years ago. I would,just suggest to keep an eye on protein intake while following the points.
Yeah I'm always babbling about the supps I'm taking and what's doing what. She thinks I'm crazy but hey if that's what it takes to look damned good then I'll be the craziest!
Right now I'm pushing for her to start tracking her macros and see where she's at. Then gradually reduce her carb/fat intake and keep protein high and see what happens to her body.
