BOSSMAN'S First supplement log on AM

Bro! I don’t know how I missed this! I had a back surgery in 2005, so please heed my advice: listen to your body and trust your gut. Everybody, including myself, will give you their opinion on what works best for back pain and injuries.

That being said, I’m with @LeanEngineer in that Chiro has been my saving grace. In fact, I’m convinced if I’d tried chiropractic care back in 2005, I might have avoided my surgery. That being said, what I’ve learned over the years is that hydration and stretching can keep a back healthy. Our discs lose water as we get older, and our modern day lifestyles that are filled with sodas and other drinks don’t help the sacs keep their fluidity. Plus muscles recover better when they are properly hydrated. You probably drink plenty of water, but if you don’t, try focusing on that more. And of course stretching. Sounds like you got that bit down. One other thing if I may, check out the e-stim machines. Now when I throw my lower back muscles out of whack I’ll throw that on immediately and am usually good to go about a day or two later, which is faster than before I purchased the e-stim machine.

Anyhow, holler if you need to bend an ear. I am always happy to share my thoughts, experience, strength and hope!
Yeah man appreciate the feedback. Its probably not a hydrating issue with me. I focus on hydrating big time.

I've narrowed it down to early last week I did Barbell squats, deadlifts, and emptied a trailer load of bluestone by shovel patching up my driveway .
I'm confident it was the constant bending, twisting and tossing of the stone and shovel. Info my lower back does go out on me usually twice a year.

This time wasn't so bad. I haven't missed work and can still do 98% of what I need to do, just not comfortable. And can't lift weights. Might be ready in another 5 days

Same here. Mine is more around once a year i'll tweak my back pretty good from either squat or deadlift.

Anymore I'm more trying to build rather than powerlift so with not trying to push my legs and back to it's limits, then there's less risk of tweaking it 😆

I hear you there brother! But I gotta admit, as someone who is coming off a year-long layoff, simply getting through a squat and leg workout feels like a powerlifting meet! I’m nothing but hot garbage after squats lately. LOL!

Walked 3 miles yesterday and got in a few uphill sprints at about 50% intensity. Played soft softball with my daughter and bball with oldest son, again bball around 25% intensity. Still not ready for any lifting but not helpless either. Did whip up a bomb azz dinner though 💪

Yall know how bad this sukks?
Feel you
did the same thing when I went to the ER on Xmas..

Ugh, I feel your pain. Rest wisely and you’ll be back in no time.

Just trying to stay moving and positive here
Invalid Link RemovedNice steady uphill downhill walk jog on the treadmill. Did some seated one arm overhead extensions with a 15lb db. Swiss ball wall squats 3x10 and 25 minutes of back stretching.
Invalid Link RemovedStill hitting the OG sludge....chocolate lava with some beautiful sprinkles 🥰🥰

That there is 23 g of protein goodness !!!!!

Now back to reality, paperwork getting ready to fly!!!!!!! Gotta get my taxes prepared 😩 😫 🙄 😒 😪

I would suggest getting a cast iron skillet
Those things are $$$ for cooking steaks.
I would pan sear for 30 seconds each side at the highest temp possible. Then finish in the oven at 250-300 for 15-20 minutes
HUGE char on the outside, and a lot of red in the middle.
Extra bloody :)

The label of the Fuel PWO never impressed me, but the performance of it has.

Protein powder and almond milk. Yesterday I got carried away with the milk and it basically turned into pudding. It doesn't take much fluid at all, just pour in a lil and whip it good!!!!
Isolates need less liquid (thinner)
Whey or Whey Blends (a touch more)
Vegan protein or casein ( A lot more)
The density of the protein powder is the underlying factor for how much liquid needs added

Best advice -- add slow, you can always add more. If you add too much then its soup haha

Got in a session on Monday, off day Tuesday and Wednesday. Just haven't been in it mentally. I'm guessing the babysitting of my lower back and just being cooped up in the house since Sunday besides day job I just haven't been feeling it. As of right now I do feel like I may train this evening as the weather is better and the sun is shining again.

I'm sure some of you have watched this video before as I have but happened to stumble upon it again this morning. Definitely worth 20 minutes of your time
