BOSSMAN'S First supplement log on AM

Looks good! At first I was about to say man low carbs but then I saw the text saying white rice and sweet potato.:)

Good to hear that the shoulder is improving, I wouldn't wait on getting into an ortho. Go to an ART, or soft tissue practitioner. Something like Airrosti or somewhere. Someone putting hands on you will often be able to tell a lot just by what they they feel while working the tissue. I would see if you can get in to see someone for Active Release Technique - ART or something similar.

Yeah I'm kinda kicking myself in the azz now for not getting the mri within a day or 2. Here we are a week down, and still have a week to go to be seen. All daily activities are around 80% ad of today. Put in a solid day of labor on saturday with restrictions. Still something going on in there
Just keeping busy and trying to stay moving as much as possible. Range of motion is 100%, but after whatever movement I do within seconds it feels stiff.

That is a GREAT Looking meal !!

That is a GREAT Looking meal !!

Had room for dessert also, frozen cool whip with a cup of lucky charms on top. Still came in low in macros and scale is where I want it at 209 for the situation I'm in right now. I have fish, half a sweet potato, and kale left over for today.

Awesome! Sounds good. Cool whip and luck charms. I may have to try that one.

That sounds delicious! Meals look good too!

Alright here we are 15 days later. You all probably think the shoulders shut me down??? NOPE!!! Ole BOSSMAN has been to hell and back the last 2 weeks. Started out taking it easy due to shoulder issues, I was still train but very very light weights on upper body days and no shoulders at all. Was really focusing on core, legs, and stretching. That was week 1, all was good.

Now, last week the roller coaster began. Was good Monday and Tuesday, Tuesday night.....BOOM 1pm in the middle of the night....full blown flu, every and any symptom you can think of....I had it. First time I've called out of day job in 7 years for being sick. That went on for 36 hours, quarantined to the bed only. Absolutely no food, and whatever fluids went in came out.
Wake up Friday feeling decent enough to go get a haircut, got fresh food for homemade chicken noodle soup etc etc... friday was good. Knocked down some soup, crackers, and bread. Called my dad and told him I will be at work saturday, good to go.
Didn't happen, friday night....BOOM!!! Food poisoning. I was up from 11pm friday night until 5am saturday morning. In the bathroom 20+ times in 6 hours. I finally got to sleep saturday morning and got some rest. Woke up feeling like death, completely dehydrated.
I spent the day outside in the fresh air and focused on rehydration. Got a case of body armor, that's some good stuff.
Saturday evening after some hydration and food, around 7pm BOOM!!!! I was good to go. Unbelievable.
Woke up sunday, did a 60 min very very mild full body workout. I.mean I was still at the point if I had to pass gas, I would sit on the toilet. Couldn't trust the situation yet. Got through Sunday very well, played flag football for about 2 hours and had really good food finally.
Woke up Monday morning, after all the Mal nourished days, dehydration, and bathroom issuez. Scale was down 7.6lbs from 210....down to 202.4. I've have slowly gotten my appetite back to around 75%. As of this morning I'm back up to 204.

Okay, now the shoulders. Good news, went yesterday. Still some slight inflamed bursa kn both shoulders. From 3 weeks ago. Have a mild case of bursitis. Protocol is 3 more weeks of no weighted shoulder exercises, ibuprofen if needed for inflammation, and some crazy non weighted exercises. No surgery, no arthritis, no gout. Thank god.
So things are on the up and up. Lawncare is 100% completely out if control. Went from 0-100 overnight and being down last week was a setback.

A before and after from yesterday. Ended the day around 17k steps. Lots of labor, 4 jobs yesterday. Got a solid 9 hours sleep last night which was well overdue. No training this morning. As far as health, I would say I'm back to 100%. Training I have to stay level headed here for 2 more weeks cause of shoulders but besides that I feel fine. Just following dr protocol. Shoulders actually feel great, I mean I had pole saws, hedge trimmers, weed eaters, back packs, shovels, rakes, wheel barrel, etc etc....all rolling this weekend with no issues. One thing that made me slow down was I snatched a full 5 gallon fuel tank from the back of the truck, besides that good to go.

Careful on chest pressing with the overlap on your shoulders. Make sure your shoulders are pinned back on all pressing movements so you minimize carry over and help with improving it as fast as possible.

Bob, have you ever tried a Sling Shot ?

Bob, have you ever tried a Sling Shot ?

Using a sling shot won't take the carry over off your shoulders when pressing, especially in a day in age where people do not practice very good form with benching. A lot of people lack a proper setup which can lead to long term injuries over time. No matter how you press (DB, Barbell) when it comes to a bench press there will be shoulder overlap. The goal is trying to minimize it when pressing with execution. Given Kevin's health and status of his shoulder a small flare up could lead him to taking a few steps back (which we do not want). Better safe then sorry.

For example:
- Wrists Cocked from BB Benching --> Wrist Pain
- Locking out each rep --> Extra tension on elbows , putting more tension on triceps
- Doing half reps or not going down to complete ROM --> Extra tension on shoulders

Things people can do
- Setup on your traps (roll shoulders back to prevent carry over)
- Slower negatives (control motion, enhance targeting proper muscle)
- Stopping just shy of lock out (more tension on chest, less tension on elbows, better joint health)

Did everything very slow with the best form I could perform this morning. First time I have done chest since shoulder flare up. Was very cautious for sure. With that in mind and not really training for a good 3 or 4 weeks. I will say I definitely lost some strength. Not worried about that at all. I know that will come back.
