Best Protein?

hey everyone, I was wondering what everyone thinks is the best protein for after workouts. I have been using Pride Brand Respect protein, but I want something different. Any Ideas?

scivation whey. cheap (10 lbs. for $60.00) effective (22g. protein, 1g. each of fat and carbs) AWESOME taste

that all depends on your definition of "Best Protein" but if you're looking for a good value and great taste ATW protein is great, NP was running a killer deal not long ago $23.00 for 5lbs, cinnamon bun and PB are awesome

For cutting i'll use all the whey's whey isolate

When I bulk i'll use optimum nutrition's gold standard or pro complex, or the 10lb bag of scivation which someone already mentioned.

best tasting is american whey, i also like on's gold standard, but comeon guys...the best protein is any of the proteins by beverly international

Scivation whey has a great profile and tastes great. Its easy to drink and not overly rich. I use ON Gold Standard as my main whey most of the time because I always find good deals on it. Either one of those are a good choice for me.

x2 for scivation chocolate tastes great and rich even in water.

x2 for ATW also.. nailed the flavors too, both great. I used to use ON but no longer fits in my budget, especially after trying ATW and their isolate is cheaper than ON

ill drink a protein shake to that! Cheers!

Muscle Pharm's Combat Powder is awesome, but you really cannot beat ATW if you inhale protein like I do. The price for ATW is just awesome.

I'll go out on a limb and say raw eggs. 24 raw eggs a day, for 6 months, put on 40lbs of lean muscle.

But seriously, if you want to avoid the salmonella fest, try ATW Cupcake Batter. It's delishus! :D

I have been using Whey Protein for a few years now, really most of them are good, try a few different ones till you find one you can drink easy.

that is cheap, but does it really taste good? With water?

if your referring to the scivation whey it tastes amazing in water. still a very rich flavor. Tastes good in anything.

I hated my cupcake batter. didnt mix at all and it tasted like poo. I think it might have just been the batch tho. I hear batches differ highly in ATW protein.

my favs:

post WO: Dymatize Whey Isolate, ON Whey gold standard, Champion Whey Stack protein

between meals: ON Nitro 24, ATW Whey Protein blend

before bed: ON Nitro 24 + cottage cheese

i'm having issues with my choc/pb flavor too... smells super tasty, but mixed with water it tastes like watered down and dirty old chocolate milk...

i'm gonna try it with milk + some pb tomorrow.

price cant be beat though!!! so i'll choke it down :)

how much water are you mixing it with?? That saddens me cuz i bought some lol

GNCs Wheyobolic 60 without a doubt...
60 grams of protein, 7 carbs, 1 gram of fat, less then 300 calories
wow, amazing

American Whey, 25 Pound tub, 130 bucks, 400 servings =].

I have had this. tastes great. I had the banana bomb flavor and it tasted like banana laffy taffy which is my fav. However i noticed the leucine content was rather low which is one thing i definitely look at when i buy protine. not that im a stickler but it was much lower than most proteins. like i 1000~mg where as in most its in the 2300~mg range. Nevertheless still a great deal.

Ya that is definitely a downside to that product. The only way I justify it is that I suggest a leucine surge post workout anyways, regardless of the type of protein, so it helps offset it a bit.

I use Muscle Gauge Pure Whey Protien Isolate. Its premium blend is a leader in all aspects. It has 22 grams of protein in a 24.8g serving. The cost is reasonable and it doesnt cost anything for shipping. It taste great and I don’t feel stuffed and bloated after I drink it. I have gained lean muscle and my strength has increased amazingly in a short period of time. Its amino acid profile is fantastic and it’s also lactose free, sugar free, and fat free!!!

Personally I love Isopure Cookies and Cream but Ive tried almost every other type of whey, but ATW sounds good, and its cheap, so I might try it

You'll get resistance to salmonella pretty quickly on that diet. You've also got a big cholesterol intake in the egg yolk. Don't do it.

1. Using egg white protein powder will get around the problem though.
2. Whey protein is the most complete amino acid food. Whole egg is the second.

Solgar Whey is the purest - very expensive though. I dunno in the UK Promax seems okay. Bulk cheap whey is probably what you're looking for though. I guess what these guys are saying is just that.

Muscle milk or monster milk are good.

great tasting and quality product. unlike a lot of other products.

plus you can get it at like 40 or 50% Off at fuel-4-life.com thats where i buy a lot of supplements and sports nutrition products.

shameless plug? 3 posts?

say what you will bout g.n.c. but they really did do a good job with that wheyobolic60 the new one i think its amp 10 grams glut. 7.7gams leucine isolate, hydrolyzed proteins even extra enzyme blend but a crazy price tag make me stick to whats on sale unless i have the extra cash but really guys ON makes for a cheap shake but it always sucks when it comes to flavor

PWO I'm going to go with a 60:40 mix of milk protein isolate:whey protein isolate from trueprotein. Their natural premium flavors are amazing and I made my custom mix with stevia; no questionable artificial ingredients. It's not ON whey or any other brand for that matter but I know im getting exactly what I pay for at the amounts I want it at. ON whey isn't bad if you're low on funds but you're definitely going to want to invest in a better protein supplement eventually and you get what you pay for most of the time. Your best bet is to stay on your toes for sales and specials. Promotions are the best ways to come across the good stuff in the most economically viable way possible.

I've always wanted to try ATW since I come across a lot of good feedback from them but I'm allergic to artificial sweeteners and their protein powders are made with Splenda. I'd definitely give them a run if they made naturals.

I am a fan of ON's 100% Whey, but lately I have been going with Dymatize Elite Whey.
Its a little cheaper and seems to be about the same. Both list "Whey Protein Isolate" as the first ingredient. (Nutraplanets description is out dated look on manufacturers site)
And both are approx. 24g protein to 32g serving.
I try and stick to stuff with isolates listed first due to the higher bio availability. Pure isolate would be great but it will also break the bank.
I have noticed even some of the more expensive and/or popular products are mostly concentrate. Just something to look out for.

ON really does not taste that bad. they have a lot of really good flavors. I think they are expensive tho. I love Scivation Chocolate Whey.
