Is there such a thing?

I've given up all stims due to an anxiety disorder, but I am in dire need of a supp to stop my appetite, anything?

I think I've seen someone say 5-htp has worked for them. I don't remember what the other one was that the same person recommended. Could also try some psyllium husk.

Look into:

- 5-HTP
- ALA
- Soluble Fiber
- Eating higher satiety inducing foods

Vegetables like they are going out of style. For me spinach fills me up quick and for a long time. Otherwise I dont know a whole lot of supps but I am going to attempt the 5-HTP. Hoping that will help for the next 9 days.

I agree here as well. Veggies galore and or a bit of psyllium husk does the trick for me.

Had very good appetite suppression with all of them.

Also, though it's hardly as healthy, a cigar or nicorette or other form of nicotine has proved very useful for appetite suppression

Really?? Good to know thanks Coop ill pay more attention next go around lol
Cissus causes a large rise in plasma serotonin following administration in humans. Its weight loss effects, which have pretty good evidence, are thought to be secondary to appetite reduction

As far as the nicotine, yes it's very true, it helps. Having said that I advise anyone who has never used nicotine (in any form) not to go this route. It is one of the most addictive drugs out. This coming from an addict myself, I would hate to see someone become addicted to this shyt.

Not trying to be someone's dad here, this just really hits home with me and I battle this addiction daily and have for 17 years.

It's not worth a little appetite suppression IMO.

And yes the gum and lozenges can be addictive as well along with being expensive.

Bummer. I've used multiple forms without ever having any problems with cessation or withdrawal. But then, I'm not talking about picking up smoking for its own sake.

And there are certainly plenty of other options, as I listed.

Agree bud no worries. I wasn't trying to attack you in any way if you took it that way I apologize. I just didn't want to see a 20 year old see this and go buy a pack of smokes or dip or whatever.

That's all. And yes you did give other options some I've used others I have not. I didn't see any bad intention in your post I just didn't want someone to misinterpret you.

My best to you bud

Carry on :)

I may give Cissus a run then as I also have some shoulder problems.

Veggies won't work for me as this is during my fasting stage as well, have extended it a bit further.

It was marketed that way in the beginning. Not sure how many of you young pups remember Nandi. :)

Yeah that definitely predates me lol. I got into this scene around the time when E-bol and pink magic were popular (and I bought multiples....)

Surprised no one has mentioned water. Every time hunger hits drink until you're full. Has always worked for me, although not when using water enhancers (Mio, crystal light) the sweetness just brings on cravings for me.

Was that really the first USP release ever? They initially sold it as a non-stim appetite suppressant? Man they've come a long way, talk about a selling point with no potential for sales lol

Psyllium Husk powder like Metamucil or the Great Value kind, helped me a lot in cuts...in fact they still do so! And provide a properly scheduled morning dump!

I go into my local vitamin shoppe and look at the "hardcore" isle and many of them started here with one product. I leave with a smile and a chuckle.

You can add it into a topical ;).

Never had a problem with nicotine addiction I smoked for a long time and I can have one or 10 and it's easy for me to stop. I feel that the additives in cigarettes and habit make it more addicting. Nicotine itself I haven't found to be habit forming for me

Yes, interestingly, we were taught that nicotine is addicting, yet all the recent data suggests otherwise. It would appear that cigarettes are addicting but pure nicotine is not, physiologically. Psychological addiction is a different story...I'm psychologically addicted to my morning dose of Alphamine, but hey, I guess it provides only positives for my health. Similarly, the "side effects" of responsible nicotine use are fat loss, appetite suppression, and improved cognitive function

Funny...a while back , some people flamed HARD on me for recommending nicotine gum in between meals (true I am not the most favorite poster...). I know it's not 100% stim free...but idk, not really that hard of a stimulant effect, and if you really have used all other doors...why not try it?

Not going to argue at all especially with the science part. Whether its the tobacco nicotine or both I'm horrible with it. Copenhagen is my vice. Quit twice once for 7 months and again recently for a month. After 17 years, Both times using lozenges and every time my lozenge dose increases and drives me right back to the shyt.

I just didn't want to see some kid get addicted is all when there are other methods to suppressing appetite. It's something I wish I could start and stop whenever.

Sorry for the derail.

Thanks for the input guys as well.

Yes, it would be addictive in this instance (similar to seeing people drinking alcohol as a former alcoholic)

Great point. I always get a hearty chuckle when someone is trying to lose weight and yet everything they drink is sweetened, even products designed to help them drop poundage. Wake up folks, if it is sweet, regardless of whether it is sugar laden or sugar free, it drives up cravings and appetite.

If you are taking any medication for the anxiety, ie SSRI or SSNRI, then avoid 5-htp as the interaction can lead to serotonin syndrome

I'm pro nicotine myself (gum/lozenge) in certain instances. Wouldn't recommend it for everyone especially ex-smokers. It definitely has benefits though.

If you've never tried it start low! Messing around in pharm lab my buddy popped a lozenge (expired even) and almost passed out lol

Nicotine in high doses can make you have diarreah and nausea. It horrible horrible.

But start at around 2-3 mg and work your way uo

Good thing to know indeed.

I was on Clonazepam but have diminished / discontinued the majority of the usage on this, am down to about .25mg once a week or so, but would rather steer away from even the possibility of this.

Unless you've had trouble with smoking/dipping/etc or possibly an addictive personality in the past in reality there is little chance of addiction with the gum. It's not as if you chew it and then can't stop. Also I've never smoked/dipped but I've used the gum and have zero desire to use the tobacco products.

Dunno how true this is but...I chewed nicotine gum. Became addicted. Gums went to crap and had to see a specialist. Both dentist and specialist say its due to nicotine acting as a vasoconstrictor and deteriorated the health of my gums.

True, if you have an addicted personality you should avoid it. A person may feel they'll be fine and won't be addicted until its too late.

I wouldn't say it's worth the risk. Id rather exercise different options.

I'm not saying its impossible to get addicted nor that its something I'd promote. Just putting that out there.

I agree with your post I that I responded to after, Grambo. I'm just voicing my opinion, from someone who thought they wouldn't get addicted-got addicted.

Far too much lol 1 peice every couple of hours. I used it to help perk up during night patrols. Maybe 10+ a day. It wasnt smart

A full flavor cigarette will contain ~1mg of nicotine versus a peice of nicorette that contains either 2 or 4.
