True!!! I want to see him play a full season, as he is always the leading rushing(or close to it) until hes injured/suspended. He average 4.9 yards a carry last year before he was out, thats just ludicrous!

I dont know if he is innocent or not, you cant just not show for drug test. I mean come on if it was that easy i think no one would ever show up for them. So if you dont show you up they assume you guilty and slap on a 4 game suspension. Idiot!!!

Im glad though as it means my steelers are more likely to keep him.

Anyone else think tampa could be pretty solid this year? Doug martin was #2 rusher last year. Winston is getting better and they said their line has improved a lot; over the offseason. I still dont think theyll make it to the playoffs but i think they be a solid team now.
I think Tampa will be dangerous as far as there rushing goes they have a great duo

Michael Bennett: If Seahawks don't appreciate value, 'get rid of me'

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/17132358/de-michael-bennett-stokes-fire-contract-seattle-seahawks

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett has never tried to hide his discontent with his current contract situation. But he has always said he wants to continue his career in Seattle.

Bennett's comments in a recent Huffington Post interview, however, suggest his frustrations could be boiling over.

"It is never-ending," Bennett said. "Especially when people are getting new contracts every day. You sit there and you're like, 'Damn, really?' I'm just to the point where it's kind of like, if you don't think I'm valuable, then just get rid of me."

Drew Brees: No contract talks with Saints in last 3 months
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/17130253/drew-brees-new-orleans-saints-not-resumed-contract-talks-last-3-months

METAIRIE, La. -- Drew Brees won't have a new contract in place before the New Orleans Saints kick off training camp, unless something changes drastically in the next few days.

Even though other quarterbacks like Andrew Luck and Joe Flacco have gotten long-term extensions done this offseason, Brees said Saturday that he and the Saints haven't even resumed negotiations in the last three months.

"Not sure why things have not progressed," said Brees, who is heading into the final year of his contract. "They made an offer in March, we made an offer shortly thereafter. And besides the Josh Norman deal [when the Saints approached Brees about restructuring his contract to try to fit the star cornerback under their salary cap], there has been no talk about a contract since."

Darnell Dockett to announce retirement Monday

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/17135249/darnell-dockett-former-arizona-cardinals-defensive-tackle-announce-retirement

TEMPE, Ariz. -- One of the most outspoken players in Arizona Cardinals history will hang it up Monday.

Defensive tackle Darnell Dockett is expected to retire Monday, sources told ESPN.

Dockett was cut by the Cardinals in February 2015, seven months after tearing his ACL during training camp in 2014. He signed with the San Francisco 49ers but was released before the regular season.

The 35-year-old Dockett will retire as one of the best pass-rushers in Cardinals history. His 40.5 sacks are seventh all time in the Cardinals' record book. He set a career high for sacks in a season with nine in 2007 and tied a Super Bowl record with three sacks in Super Bowl XLIII.

I swear this is an annual thing from Bennett. I would love to see what he could do on a defense where he did not have a great pass rsuh and great corners/safeties around him. I think his success is more because of the system rather than his play

Dallas Cowboys bus involved in deadly crash with van in Arizona
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/17137197/dallas-cowboys-bus-involved-fatal-crash-arizona
INGMAN, Ariz. -- Four people were killed Sunday when a bus carrying Dallas Cowboys staffers but no players collided with a van on a northwestern Arizona highway.

The fatalities were passengers in the van, Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Quentin Mehr said. But the bus occupants emerged uninjured.

"All on the bus came through OK with some bumps and bruises," Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple said in an email.
Dalrymple said the bus was only carrying members of the franchise's staff but would not say how many. There were no players on board.

Among those on board the team bus were DallasCowboys.com columnist Mickey Spagnola, a team mascot and a team videographer.

The Seattle Seahawks and general manager John Schneider have reached agreement on a contract extension, the team announced Sunday night via a tweet from owner Paul Allen.

The new deal is for five years and is expected to make Schneider among the highest-paid GMs in the NFL, a source told ESPN's John Clayton.

Schneider's contract was set to expire at the end of 2016, his sixth season at the helm of the Seahawks after a stint in the Packers front office.

Phil Loadholt to retire after meeting with Vikings officials, per sources

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/17138401/phil-loadholt-minnesota-vikings-expected-retire

Minnesota Vikings right tackle Phil Loadholt is expected to retire pending his meeting with team officials Monday, sources told ESPN.

Sources said Loadholt is leaning toward retirement due to soreness in his surgically repaired Achilles tendon as well as other aches and pains. Loadholt's injuries have taken a toll on a player who signed a $25 million extension in 2013.

Should Loadholt decide to end his career after Monday's meeting, he will become the 14th NFL player 30 years of age or younger to retire this year.

Loadholt, 30, missed the entire 2015 season due to a torn Achilles tendon, which he suffered during the second preseason game. His last regular-season game as a Viking was on Nov. 23, 2014. He missed the final five games of that season due to a torn pectoral muscle.

Source: NFL to investigate Aldon Smith in wake of online video

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/17138859/nfl-investigate-aldon-smith-oakland-raiders-wake-online-video

The NFL will investigate whether Oakland Raiders linebacker Aldon Smith has violated the protocols required of a suspended player seeking reinstatement to the league following a violation of the substance abuse policy, a league source told ESPN's Ed Werder.

The league will conduct the investigation following the circulation of an online video that shows an unidentified man and woman talking about a hand-rolled cigarette.

The video is archived in a Periscope account that Smith has used on multiple occasions over the last two months.

Neither Smith nor the woman appear in the video, titled "Fire up session," although Smith appears in several other videos under the Periscope account "ravenga."

At one point in the video, the woman tells the man that he "shouldn't even be posting that" and that he is "hella stupid" as the man holds the lit cigarette.

The video cuts off immediately after the man says, "They don't know it's me. It's not like I put 'Aldon Smith.'"

Falcons release star kick returner Devin Hester
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/17145704/devin-hester-released-atlanta-falcons

The Atlanta Falcons announced Tuesday they have released veteran receiver Devin Hester, the most accomplished return man in NFL history.

Hester missed the first 11 games of the 2015 season as a result of a toe injury, for which he had surgery in January. He did not participate in any offseason activities while recovering.

In May, Hester told ESPN he wouldn't be surprised if the team released him.

"At the end of the day, I feel like it's going to come down to how my toe feels," Hester said. "If my toe isn't ready, then I can't fault them for letting me go because it's a business. I can't go around thinking I'm safe if I'm not playing. I do understand that."

Randy Gregory faces longer ban due to another drug policy violation

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/17147265/randy-gregory-dallas-cowboys-faces-longer-suspension

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory is facing a longer suspension due to another violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy, according to multiple sources.

Already handed a four-game suspension earlier in the offseason, Gregory would miss the first 10 games for at least his fourth misstep in the substance abuse policy. It is not clear if Gregory failed another test or missed a test.

According to the policy rules, a missed test is treated the same as a failed test.

Gregory has entered an undisclosed treatment facility and is not expected to report to training camp this week with the team, a league source told ESPN's Ed Werder. Whether he participates at all is uncertain.

Sources: Lions planning to sign WR Anquan Boldin to 1-year deal
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/17147263/detroit-lions-sign-wr-anquan-boldin-1-year-deal

The Detroit Lions are planning to sign veteran wide receiver Anquan Boldin to a one-year deal, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Boldin and the Lions, who need depth at receiver in the wake of Calvin Johnson's retirement, were finalizing the deal Tuesday, sources told Schefter.

Detroit had brought Boldin in for a workout last month but did not sign him at the time. After working out some younger receivers Monday, the Lions decided to make a move with the veteran.

Cowboys face fine of at least $250K for having three suspended players
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/17156415/dallas-cowboys-face-stiff-fine-having-three-suspended-players

With at least three players suspended for part of the 2016 season, the Dallas Cowboys will be subject to a fine in the range of $250,000, based on last year's club remittance policy.

The league still is formulating this year's fine schedule, which is based on the number of players suspended on a single team. Last year, any team with three players suspended -- the position the Cowboys are in this year with linebacker Rolando McClain and defensive ends DeMarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory -- had to pay a fine up to $250,000.

The fines are not expected to decrease this season under the new schedule.

McClain, Lawrence and Gregory were suspended for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. McClain will miss the season's first 10 games and Lawrence will miss the first four. Gregory also received a four-game ban but now faces a longer suspension after another violation, according to multiple sources.
