Non-stimulated cardio failed miserably, ‘cause I got an extreme adrenal shock when I nearly run over a brown-looking snake Invalid Link Removed :run: In Aussie land brown-looking snakes are not something you want to get even remotely close to. 1hr45min run+sprints.

* Amazing workout, total leg destruction. No decrease in strength or endurance despite lack of stims and alpha female enhancing supps :woohoo: Though I’ve noticed Prime abstinence crisis big time the weight moved did appear to be awfully heavy :eek: x 1000000000000000 But I didn’t give up :twisted:

* The hardest thing really was to get myself moooovin’. I felt slightly lazy and unmotivated Invalid Link Removed

Hasn't changed much since Xmas JKP, from what I can SEE, but I haven't stepped on a scale in ages.
Something I want to do soon.

Last time I did that my weight was up but BF% was up too, apparently 20%. You've seen my photos through this entire log, I doubt that at any point in time I've been 20%. Your thoughts ?

In regards to BF, I just used one of those fancy scales.

Using Home Body Fat Scales to Measure Body Fat
Body fat scales claim to measure body fat quickly and conveniently. These body fat scales use the Bioelectrical Impedance method to measure your body fat percentage. A low-level electrical current is passed through your body and the "impedance", or opposition to the flow of current, is measured. The result is used in conjunction with your weight and other factors to determine your body fat percentage. Unfortunately, your body's "impedance level" can be altered by many factors besides body fat. For instance, the amount of water in your body, your skin temperature and recent physical activity can all adversely affect the results.So only by following strict rules can you hope to get an accurate measurement of your body fat using these scales. The most important rules to observe in order to make a more accurate calculation of your body fat are:

Don't eat or drink for 4 hours before the body fat measurement test.
Don't exercise for 12 hours before the test.

Well, that was done in the gym after training :p

I need get my hands on some calipers I think. Without BF measurements, the weight itself means nothing.

the only true method is getting yourself scanned - it's about A$120 a pop though.

I have a something to ask you though: The last week at the gym I weighed myself on electronic scales at 93.3kg - before training.

On Saturday I did the same thing (diff. scales but electronic) and I was 95.3kg - same timing, preWO.

I don't think it could be fluid... not bloated, infact the opposite. ANy ideas?

Calipers are only as accurate as the person working them; but, that is the way to go. Body scans are a little $$ nutz. :eek: A 9-site skinfold if done properly will give accurate results.
My BF scale is worthless, but presents a guide for progress anyway. Mine read 183.7lbs, 6.0% BF this morning (BF only moves in whole % points). I think it just may be accurate today!! :)

Well, the PF most definitely increases LH, increasing T, increasing the process of aromatization. It COULD be a combination of a few things, and I don't know quite everything Dr.Fly is taking, so I'm not sure...and, we can't rule out training. Max-OT leads to increased T and GH levels probably more than any type of training!

CHEST, BIS& TRIS

1. Bench Press (2 warmup sets, 10 working)
2. Cable Curls ( same # of sets as ^^, 10-12 reps per set)
3. Narrow Grip Press ( 3 working sets, 10-12 reps per set)
4. DB Hammer Curls ( same as ^^ )

How can you possibly love anything that contains bulk HMB powder? Blech! I put 2g of that stuff in 3/4gal of water mixed with tons of other stuff, including flavoring, and that was the only thing that stood out in the taste. That stuff is SO GROSS! I'd love to try it, but I can't handle the taste...and it's not just a bad taste, that stuff lingers in your mouth for hours.

Recommended dosage for that stuff to see any effects is in the 5-6g/day range.

I have mixed feelings on HMB.. I don't think - by itself - it amounts to anything. Just mho here..
The only HMB I've ever seen any results with persoanlly (and here I go again touting these guys) is Beverly's Muscle Synergy. Fantastic product. Spendy as hell. And that's the extent of my HMB success..
 
HMB was the first thing i ever tried when i was around 16 and i put on a good 20lbs over the 3-6 months. Everytime i jumped on the scale i was up a kg. Ive used it since and didnt get much. The taste is just so so bad, i cant even describe it.

It grows on ya Irish.. I never liked it when I was your age; I was heavy into baseball back then, and with my powerfull lefthanded swing I drove everything over the fence (just like in baseball, ahaa).. But the more I played & grasped the nuances of the sport, the more fun it became. Watching the strategy & skill levels of these guys today, with the speed of the game in today's era, it's really phenomenal what they do out there.

I saw Roddick play on centre court at Wimbledon a few years ago. Like Timber said, you cant appreciate the skill of these guys until you see it live. Im not sure whats more impressive, Roddick serving at 240km/hr or Andy murray smashing it back.
 
Oh for sure dude. I don't much care for Roddick, but his serve - it's one of the best on the tour.. Murray has a good game as well.

I only knew of Andy Roddick because she was Mandy Moore's boyfriend for awhile, but I did know of Fedorer. The last time I followed tennis was during the reign of Andre Agassi, I think I was in 7th grade.

I've played tennis and I know how challenging an accurate AND STRONG overhand serve can be, and the outrageous amount of control it requires to send or bend a ball back, IN BOUNDS!.

all bulk preWO mix:

Arginine Ethyl Ester +
ALCAR
Creatine Malate
Creatine Ethyl Ester
R-ALA (popped out of the caps)

The Creatine pre-mix (Creatine Recovery Stack, MUSASHI, a brand we get here), I'm using has Dextrose + BCAA + Taurine + HMB. I bought it primarily for Creatine content and Dextrose when I decided I was going to add some extra intra-workout fuel.

65 grams (1 serve):
8g Creatine
5g glutamine
3g BCAA
3g Taurine
1g HMB

the rest is dextrose

I'm using 1/2 serve

WORKOUT UPDATES


DAY 147


* I have been experimenting… Invalid Link Removed

…with different BACK&SHOULDER workout routines. You guys would have figured out by now that the only consistent thing about my workout structure is – inconsistency ! :lol:

* I rarely keep the same structure for more than 2-3 weeks, keeps me motivated and keeps the muscles guessing …

* What I came up with to start off, was a superset type of routine.
Each exercise:

1) 1 warmup, 4 working sets
2) Weight lifted: 70-80% of max
3) Rest between sets, 30-45sec
4) First 3 working sets – heavier weight/lower reps (6-10)
5) Last working set – dropset style/ high reps until failure (12-20)


1. Narrow Grip Pulldowns sups
2. Military Press

3. Upright EZ-bar Rows sups
4. Lat WG Pulldown

5. Front WG Row sups
6. B-over Shoulder Flies/Laterals

7. Unilateral Cable Front Raises

8. Deadlifts

* I know what are you going to say :fool2: x 1000000000 for doing Deads at the end, as if all that wasn’t enough already ! :lol:

I hated this routine ! Invalid Link Removed Too much machine-based work :eek:, after the first two supersets I was like :pat:, NOOOO, no more machines&cables, PLEASE !!!!!!! :no: Mentally machines just kill me :puppy_dog_eyes:, I find them rather boring and unchallenging :saroll: :ntome:

* Basically I felt so unfulfilled and after doing my counting and realizing that 4 out of 7 exercises were NOT done with free weights :grumpy:, I felt it was my Dragon’s duty to throw Deads in, just for good measure ! :p




DAY 148



* Experimental time again ;)
* I wasn’t really all that sore from yesterday’s workout Invalid Link Removed, probably because I didn’t quite put 100% effort into it and hence, I had to come back to finish it off and try out a different routine that would enhance my self-destructive tendencies a bit more Invalid Link Removed Invalid Link Removed

* This routine was almost diametrally different from the one before (other than utilizing 30-45sec in between-set rest periods). Only 3 exercises:

1. Crunching DB Jabs on a decline (got to video-record these for ya TL ;)

*2 x 38.5lb 5/ 5/ 5 /5 dropset to

* On my last set with 38.5lb DBs I almost dislocated my shoulder ! :lol:

* I think I would have shot myself if after all that ^^I found I could deadlift close to max :p

* CONCLUSION: I much prefer picking only a few exercises per body part and really smashing a ridiculous number of sets (as I've done with bench and squats in the past, 6-10 working sets), rather than doing “millions” of different exercises and only 3-4 working sets each. If you utilize big compound movements than there is no need for increasing exercise number, DEADS work ~80% of the muscles :D :thumbsup:

* Legs were totally shattered after this, I did an extra of 2 sets compared to last week (total of 6), and increased the weight to 38.5lb (as opposed to 33lb DBs, # reps same = 10)

* Rest between sets was really short, ~30sec, because I just wanted to get it over an done with ASAP. Why ? Because I can’t even put in words how much I hate walking DB lunges….but maybe this will give you an idea:

You and I both seem to share an intimate hatred for lunges...I'm fortunate that I don't need to do them to see growth or progress. Occasionally I'll throw them in just because if I don't I feel as though I'm a weak individual for avoiding an exercise just because it's painful. I would seriously rather do 10 sets of Squats than 3 sets of lunges. (notice I don't capitalize "lunges" :lol:)

The latter is probably due to multiple factors, mainly increased water uptake and elimination of gluten from my diet (sucks, but I think I may be intolerant :sad:)

Those deads and squats are just getting nastier and nastier (numberically speaking of course :study:)...

I'm not sure what I would do if I saw a girl deadlifting some real weight at my gym... Sh*t, I'm not sure what I'd do if I saw another guy deadlifting. Everyone is such a pussy these days. If I had a dollar for every time I saw someone doing squats on the smith machine...:disappointed:
 
I'd actually like to start incorporating burn-out sets of Squats on the Smith Machine. It by no means would be a replacement for regular Squats, but just something to throw in a leg workout once in a while on top of my normal lifts. You can actually do some cool stuff with Smith Machines.
