Training log revamp ROUND 3 lol

I'm a little confused about how the last few days went because I went back to work Thursday and been in a daze trying to get caught up with work and it just dawned on me that I feel better.

Some notes....
I believe Wednesday I cut out anything with added sugar. Whatever day we were having that conversation about sugar and carbs I think is when I did that.

Thursday I had coffe for breakfast, Some deli turkey and cheese roll ups With cucumbers and hummus and a greek yogurt cup for lunch, and steak and a potato for dinner.

Yesterday I had a coffee for breakfast, coffee for lunch. And for dinner had the meal I had for lunch the day before with 6oz of chicken added to it.

Maybe this crappy feeling is blood sugar related? I don't have a glucose monitor any more so I'm guessing.

So today I had steak and eggs for breakfast and 1/2 of a potato. Gonna keep carbs low for a few more days and try to figure it out.

Feel 100% back to normal now so I'm going forward 100% with the cycle.

Unfortunately I lost 10lbs in the past 5 days but it's not a big deal. I needed to tighten up a little anyways lol.

For now I'm gonna eat meat, eggs, Cheese, Greek yogurt, fruit, and a little bit of rice potato and vegetables. Trying to keep carbs around 100, maybe 150 tops on training days till I figure this out better.

I've also been only about 50% as active as I normally am online. Trying to not check the forums every time I have a 2min break like I normally do.

I wish I wasn't trying to get bigger right now because I'm starting to think I would do good intermittent fasting on moderate carbs and calories. I'm definitely gonna throw some intermittent fasting in on my next cut.

Off to the gym to see how much strength I lost
I try to stay between 100 to 150 myself and definitely feel a lot better. Carbs pre-workout and post....then for lunch and that is it. I do factor in my veggies and fruit.

Yes I believe fasting can play a significant role in fat loss, not eating = loss. But I'm not comfortable doing it. 1 meal a day I can tolerate but even that's not ideal for me most of the time. Especially when I'm working crazy labor jobs. The harder I work, the hungrier I get and if didn't eat at work on a 15hr day I'd feel really crappy, I've experienced this many times. I'm sure I could get use to it but it's almost a bigger inconvenience to have to make that adjustment. Even with if, I don't think I could fit bulking calories into 1 meal without eating garbage. But I think I'm gonna do start incorporating IF here and there when it's convenient.

Had a decent workout but I'm burnt now.

Lowered the weights significantly and did a lot of paused reps and 2-3sec negatives on most working sets. Did shoulders and biceps just because I knew it would be a mentally rewarding workout.

Side question, might be a little dehydrated, do you drink a lot of water when fasting or IF? I drink 1gallon minimum per day. But when I'm hungry, water makes me nauseous oddly enough. I definitely drank less water the past few days. My sweat also smells a little different, probably from the hormones building up. Normally I have almost no smell no matter how much I sweat, but on cycle I always get a little oder. Girlfriend says it doesn't smell bad, it's just a new oder that she's only noticed a few times (and it's always when I've been on a cycle)
I hear you on the demanding jobs...on my feet all day and my body feels like garbage if I don't eat or cut my carbs too much. Averaging about 13000 to 15000 steps a day, plus my workout and work stress.

The sweat smell is the gear. It happens to me every time. When me and my wife first got together I would wake up in the middle if the night abs she would be gone. I started kinda tripping on it and when I finally hit her up she was like because you stink when you sweat and you sweat when we have sex and you sweat when you sleep.lol. it's one of the reasons when I moved out to Detroit and we got married she was like no gear!! Vigorous Steve made a video on it

150 a day is a good comfortable amount for me, the problem I'm going to run into is I need 3200 calories just for maintenance and I don't do good on high fat diets. So either I eat 500gm of protein which I can't afford or I'm gonna have to eat 500 carbs.

A little carb cycling will help. It's gonna take some playing around with. But typically I do good on a high carb diet so hopefully I was just sick and now that I'm better, and hopefully I'm not borderline diabetes from all my binge eating adventures lol. But if everything is OK eventually IL bump carbs back up.

I can do high fat low carb days here and there, I just can't do it all the time. On a high fat diet I feel kind of sluggish and ccrappy, also my shoulders break if I eat high fat for too long.

I'm babbling again but IL figure it out.


To everyone else I will say if I seem a little off I think I got some lingering brain fog. I feel fine but I noticed that when I get into conversations, I get more off track than usual and i'm going on and on and changing subjects quite often.

Hopefully I'm not doing it too bad in my posts.

At least I'm aware of the brain fog or whatever. 🤷‍♂️

It’s not just about weight loss - it’s about FAT LOSS WHILE PRESERVING MORE MUSCLE. Based on the scans, using the same methods, almost all of the loss was bodyfat. We can’t even say it was water lost, because the scan reads intramuscular water as skeletal muscle & is affected by glycogen storage.

I almost never eat one meal a day. That is a recipe to miss out on protein synthesis opportunities and probably jam up your gut. If I did I would be eating an oversized fatty steak I guess.

On days I do intermittent fast, like a non-training day, I keep my meals to about an 8-10 hour window and get a solid 3 meals in. I will consume 150-220 grams of protein in that time, sufficient for my lean mass & recovery.

About once every week or two, if I can make it work with family life, I take an entire day off eating. Depending on when I shut off food the night before and when I restart, this can easily be 36 hours. Deleting an entire day of food is a fast way to drop a pound of fat while keeping endogenous GH higher than average. Taking Mk677 the night before really pushes that too.

So if I don’t train, I skip breakfast and try to eat 3 meals, or occasionally don’t eat at all. Training days, I eat at maintenance, lots of carbs, and for recovery over 12-14 hour feeding window. Pretty simple.
 
Oh, to answer your question! Yes, you won’t be as thirsty when fasting AND you are missing out on all the normal carbs and salts you would be getting. Salt your water and put some Mio in it and track it so you get enough, or take a serving of Keto Lytes or similar super high salt no-calorie electrolyte supplement when fasting.

If you get dehydrated, you will be weak & tired.
 
Your not the first person I've heard say something similar. My boy said on tren his sweat smells like death. I assumed the smell was gear related.
It has the same smell as the sweat I use to get when I would kick heroin. It makes me feel gross. It's the one side effect I can't stand. It wasn't too bad last cycle and this one It's only happened at night not at the gym so I can live with that. Just towel off, put a dry sheet down and go back to sleep
 
Tren rant ahead...I just got back from getting my taxes done..I get a grand total of 16$ back and I claimed zero. So apparently om paying for all these poor people in Cali who have 5 kids, don't work, but live in a nicer place than me and drive a big ass car with awful gas mileage to drive all their kids around they had no business having on the first place. I stopped screwing around over a decade ago and gave Been a productive member of society scince and not too much had changed, I get that falls back on me but still it seems like if you're not even trying to improve your life the government makes it easier for you. Food stamps. Medicare, section 8 rentals,..must be nice

Not talking about people who simply can’t take care of themselves or work for realistic reasons, or hit a rough patch and just need some help while they get back up to speed, but folks who just choose not to try to provide for themselves.

About 2 blocks from me is a housing projects I played in growing up. Lots of BMW's and Cadillac escalades parked in there all the time, my friends dad was this little Spanish guy that drove a mint old school Monte carlo with the blower out the hood and wire spoke Cromer rims almost as big as him lol.

But now as a adult I realize it was all hood rich ppl, drug dealers, or whatever. Everyone had nice cars and jewelry but didn't own a house and paid like 99 a month for rent.


There was a old lady that was hustling icys and Beef patties out her kitchen window and took orders to cook for parties. She charged 50c for icys but when it was really hot she just gave them to all the kids.

The good old days, I was like 1 of 3 white kids that hung out in the hood but I looked like a Puerto Rican cus I'm so dark lol.

That's weird, well hopefully it doesn't get too bad, about 2 years ago I ran a cycle and everyone in my family kept telling me I smelled kinda like maple all the time, like a syrup smell.

Yiu couldn't smell it standing next to me, but my girl would literally sniff my neck and arms and tell me my skin smelled like mapel. I actually thought I had something called MSUD
 
I'm soo mad, I forgot to take a picture, last night I filled in at the restaurant and I asked them to make me a high protein low carb meal to go.

They made me what I would call a keto pizza.

Chicken, bacon and Gorgonzola cheese on a khaliflower pizza crust. Probably more fat then I wanted but at least they tried to cater to my diet and was delicious.

Buy some sugar free chocolate pudding mix, make a protein shake with skim milk and whisk it into the pudding mix. Then pour it into ice cube trays and freeze. Taste like a fudge pop or fudgicle. I don't remember the macro breakdown but each ice cube is something like 2 gm carbs and less then 1 gm fat.
 
It won't actually freeze like ice. It'll still have some consistency to it but it'll be hard enough to pop out of the tray

I have seen similar in the grocery store frozen. Have never bought one because I didn’t think it would taste good. Maybe I will have to give one a try when I get that pizza craving.

Thanks that actually sounds pretty good..I like big pauks idea of sugar free jello as well. Back in the day this one local bodybuilder i knew said he used to keep a bag of jolly ranchers on hand for when things got really bad, I'd rather have something I can actually chew and swallow tho ( no homo lol )

I think they’re a Midwest thing. Pretty sure they’re out of Wisconsin so it’s been a thing in IL for over 15 years. They were the premier frozen pizza when I was a broke teen, then when we started lifting in college it’s what you did when you came home exhausted from training and needed the calories to grow.

Within the last year both Dan Bell and Tom Finn (great powerlifters from IL) were on podcasts and both mentioned still using them occasionally like this. I was glad to be in good company

Yeah I just looked it up and not available anywhere here in Houston. I normally order a thin crust for myself when I order from Papa John's to get less calories. However I would like a quick and cheaper option on occasion as well.

Don't even get me started on taxes... only time I recall getting a refund in the last decade was in 2019 when I bought the gym. Huge write off, Trump era capital equipment write off. When I sold the gym a year later I had to pay it all back, it was like an $11k tax bill or something insane. With all the influx of California money flocking to WA state my property tax bill is now higher than my entire mortgage, hoa, and taxes were combined in my last pad. and we have the highest fuel tax in the nation... I could rant about it for days. hell, I bought a 1989 boat and had to pay $3k in taxes just to register it.

If you can get a seller to write a bill of sale for $100 you save a fortune in taxes in this ridiculous state.

Luckily I've never had it happen, at least not bad. I've had the feeling come and cough a little. But I've heard stories of people going into the fetal position because they can't stop coughing and it hurts so bad lol.

I think when I throw tren Ace in the pitcher I'm gonna do a little tiny daily subq injections just so I don't even risk it

Yea I had a few small coughs, but it wasn't anywhere near the horror stories you hear about. Like I said ad soon as the needle came out its like the air from my lungs followed it right out. And I did taste it a little but like everyone talks about. The burning in my lungs lasted about 7 minutes which was perfect because as soon as it went away my breakfast was done cooking(3 eggs. 6 oz tilapia). So I guess my breakfast today

Put a little of that Lawry’s seasoning salt on the tilapia. It’s got sugar in it, but it’s low enough they don’t show it in the macros, and you only need a pinch.

That and white rice with just a shot of sugar-free ketchup is an easy meal to swallow down & be ready to eat 90 min later if you have to.

I use Lawry's on my chicken when it. My mom said to try old bay seasoning on it. Eventho it's seafood seasoning it's pretty good on chicken

I actually asked for them to check some specific things and I basically said if yiu guys can't check at least these 3 things please let me know so I can cancel my appointment and they said they can do it so let's see if they lied to get me in the office lol

Good that you have them, you can call them to have them fixed, and then let the Dr's know they are going to send you new cards and to call to verify you.
 
I got cigna..it's expensive but it covers anything and everything. I actually want to find a physical therapist, there's something up with my left shoulder like somethings tight because when I do lateral raises the **** is crooked and when I bench as well. I think it's from years of doing deadlifts with one and over and one under where one side was overcompensating when it got too heavy.

they even have crooked ways to approach it. they'll give you the "no quote quote" which means "here's the best price we can offer you if you promise not to quote us out" but if you tell them "x' insurance only came in at this price they say "oh we can meet that".. I hate insurance but am also grateful to have it I guess. my buddy feels it should be made illegal. I sorta agree.

Yeah it’s a love, hate…. You have to have it because of medical cost, but between the health insurance, pharmaceutical companies, and Doctors it just feels like they rob you blind, but they know you have to have it, frustrating sometimes.
 
Well, I got a physical and they tried to give me a prostate exam and I said no I'm good, if I start getting prostate issues IL let you know. I know sooner or later i'm gonna have to start doing it but i'm not ready for that yet. I just don't like stuff near my ass lol.

Took blood but I don't feel like they took enough, in prior experiences they usually take way more. I won't know the extent of what they tested but he told me the 3 things I wanted to see will be on there. Liver, cholesterol and some inflammation markers.

I did have a high resting heart rate 88bpm, bp was decent 128/85 and my temp was 99.6 and now I wait. Gonna take a nap and go hit the gym later
 
How come I can give myself a million IM and sub q injections but when someone else has to jab me I get anxiety and it freaks me out lol

No I'm really not, I mean lol. In a situation where someone has to be in charge I perfer to be that person. But I can handle taking directions just fine lol. I think it's because they gotta hit a vein. I don't think I could stick myself in a vein. Just the thought of it makes me twitch lol

Lol no I do not like IV at all, always made me squeamish. When I go for bloods I always look away - I’ve tried to watch but it’s not worth getting lightheaded sometimes.

I mean I do it voluntarily, but I appreciate a nurse who can make a clean stick the first time!
 
really really glad to hear you guys say that lol. 2 years ago had a minor eye procedure (called surgey) to flip my eyelid inside out and remove essentially a cyst/clogged duct that made me look like i had a black eye for 2 months. a year later it came back but that eye surgeon was no longer practicing.

walk into a new guys office for a consultation. he says, hey I got five minutes wanna do it now? I said wait, without drugs? last doc made me take these like anti anxiety meds before I came in. He says na, you're a man you'll be fine.

of course with a half dozen good looking nurses in the room I wasn't about to argue with him.

sure enough he pokes me in the eyelid, then flips it inside out and cuts out the little clog with me 100% sober and alert. I could feel myself getting nauseous and sweating through my shirt but hey, I'm a man i can handle it 😅😅😅😅

drove home holding a bloody gauze over my eye feeling like i had just taken down king kong.
