Soooo, I just got caught up in here. Have some updates if anyone cares. Before I get into that, @Mikereyn513 Your upper back and traps look 👌 💪, good muscle insertions from what I can tell too. If I can make some constructive criticism.... your traps are overpowering, especially your middle traps. Your probably recruiting your traps a lot in your back workout. Maybe try to take them out of the equation. I vave the same problem. My traps do a lot of the work when I'm doing back exercises. Other than that it's hard to critique your progress because there's not much you can tell someone who's doing almost everything right all the time. 👍

I managed to find a few guys who train the bench and squat on Saturday so I will be doing that every Saturday morning. Then I helped a senior group with Parkinsons disease. I held the mits for a few of them and have them do combinations. It's more to keep them moving and active, obviously they don't wanna have a boxing match lol.

I took some pictures but I think IL wait to get there approval before I post them. I doubt they will ever look on anabolic minds but I think it may be rude to post pictures of them before I get permission. When that was over I hit the heavy bag for a few. I gassed out very fast.

Backed off the weights, tightend up my form and will follow a basic progression on this workout.
Screenshot_20230415_130015_Notepad Free.jpg

Then between Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday IL hit everything bodybuilding style and to a few boxing and grappling sessions for cardio.

I'm a bit of a headcase sometimes but I finally feel like everything is back in order and I'm back to working 6 days a week but with much less driving time and stress.

My appetite is pretty much back to normal too.

Blood work was mostly good but cholesterol was outta whack. Not horrible, Dr. Didn't really even point it out because total cholesterol was normal, but for me, enough to know I need to clean up my food selections. I'm sure the epistane could have played a role too. It was probably worse on epistane.

Bodyweight was as high as 218 and dropped as low as 199 when I was feeling shitty and not eating. Back to 208 and leaner then I've been in the past few months.

Gonna spend a few more weeks getting in the Grove and fine tuning the diet because calorie intake is about to change drastically now that I'm hitting the bag and grappling for cardio.

Still setting my eyes on the 4th of July to present a new improved physique. I'm not gonna go crazy pounding food till after the 4th tho. I'm just gonna try to stay in a small surplus for the time being.

And as usual IL adjust as needed.

Now this is what I like to read!

I like that powerlifting Saturday btw

Make sure you do your Facepulls/reverse flies/rear delt work on a bodybuilding day, as well as cable Pullthrus or light high volume back extensions as well. Rear delts and a hyper extension movement, both for routine volume, are some of the most fundamental powerlifting accessories to help develop shoulder & low back endurance for stability during the powerlifts.

Never done pullthrus? Like pull the cable through the legs with straight arms. So instead of a pull over, i'm pulling through the legs in a similar way but reversed

I always laugh at this but, ppl talk about hard-core gyms. Usually that means hard-core bodybuilding. But at our gym ppl get punched in the face a lot so we have blood clean up stations in the bathrooms and outside the ring and the cage lol

Glad to have you back bro had been wondering where you were. So yea as you can see I had to hold the thread down while you were away. Totally agree with you on the trap thing. What's crazy is I don't do shrugs and I don't deadlift. I remember fuaod abiad talking about when he went to John meadows as a coach John saw that he was using all rohmboids and teres muscles on back day. Pretty sure it was on dave tates podcast, I'll have to go back and watch it to see how it was corrected. I'll take any suggestions/ exercises from you bros

I'm actually about to go do a back/ bi sesh now so ill try and focus on lats. I'll have to send you a progress pic lat spread. I don't feel I'm close to wide enough which is probably why my inner back is over developed

Yep, it’s a bit like a kettlebell swing with constant muscle tension from the cable. You do NOT want to squat down; you want to bend at the hip to load the glutes and low back. Sets of 15-20, and it will probably ride your shorts and underwear up as the rope grazes the thighs.

Closest thing to a reverse hyper in a commercial gym, but the problem is the weight stack is never enough on a lot of cable stations. But if you have a Pulldown tower with a low row cable at the bottom, that’s perfect.

Always row your weights from the elbows, not your hands. The hands are hooks and the elbows driving back will haul the weight with the lats. And be bent over enough when rowing free weights, and sit up enough when rowing cables, to keep load off the traps.

Man I don't know know what's more frustrating..a pump that only lasts 2 minutes or sex that only lasts 2 minutes. Atleast with the sex it had to have been really good pu$$y to only last that long. I even tool some prescription viagra that my boy gave me and nothing. What's the old saying tho, to get rid of the fat you have to go flat. I'm vascular as f.ck but no pump to go with it. Stupid low carbs

Great info on the pull throughs! I will watch a video on the best set up for these and give them a shot sometime soon!

Your directions on how to engage the lats more with the hook hands sounds exactly like what i have been telling people for the last 25 years. It really does make a difference. Always pull by pulling the elbows back, think of the hands as just hooks. Even better pull in an arching motion back toward your hips on all bent rowing movements. Concentrating on creating that arch instead of just pulling straight up makes a huge difference in lat activation! You get a lot more arm involvement when pulling straight up.

I'm thinking about getting some wrist wraps as well. Just watched a nick walker back/ bi session on YouTube and he used wrist wraps on every set not just the heavy ones. It's guessing Matt has him doing that to keep the focus on the lats as much as possible. Looking at the size if nicks arms I bet when he was younger he was using a lot of bicep on his back days

Wrist Straps are what you want - wraps are for pressing/casting the wrist, while straps are used to hang onto things easier. If you type wraps into a search bar, you’ll be disappointed if you wanted to view straps

This is okay for bodybuilding, assuming your forearms already have sufficient development. But your grip will weaken & forearms shrink if they’re never trained, so it depends on your strengths & situation. If you do some reverse curls and hammer curls often, you’ll probably be okay doing that for a while.

Train the muscles intended, so lats when doing lats, but remember to train everything you need over the week, including forearms.

I subscribe to this as well. Like yesterday on my dead lifts I hit 8 reps at 315 with DOH, then 8 reps at 365 with mixed grip before finally putting on my versa grips for the final set of 8. I want that grip to get stronger but when I am training with heavy and high volume for back specifically I will put on my versas so my grip is not the limiting factor. I still wait until I get to a set that will challenge my grip before doing so.

Luckily this leaves me not needing to train my forearms specifically except to hit the brachialis because I have pretty big forearms as it is, and have never been challenged on grip on a single. So it has not been a limiting factor in my ability to pull weights I am capable of pulling.

Yea wrist straps is what I meant.lol. yea my forearms are good, I get just as many " how do I get those" as I do my calves and delts. I hit hammers twice a week, 1 day normal and the next across my body, reverse curls once a week

If you switch to low dose daily cailis, 5-7.5mg, it will take a few days to build up but the stuffy nose will be mild and should go away after a few days

Yea I gotta get some more bac water from Mike pretty soon so I was gonna go ahead and order some cialis as well. I will give it this tho..the last 2 nights I've been able to get and keep a pump and the only variable is the sildenafil so that's been cool. I'm gonna go ahead and assume the cialis will work just as well if not better?

Does viagra take a few days to build up because Saturday and Monday didn't really feel anything but yesterday and especially today the pumps were like they used to be when I started this blast. I know viagra only has like a 6 hour half life where cialis I like 72 so i wouldn't think it would take that long to work

Viagra usually hits within the first hour, but Cialis is the one that could take a few days.

Could be the same or better but also could be worse. It depends on your response to tada vs the V. Health wise, low dose daily tada/cailis has the most benefits. I've spoken witj a few Dr. Including my dad's Dr who think every guy on the planet should take it. If you guys remember, last year I had a Dr. Appointment witj a guy that I was hoping to have as my primary, he thinks trt + cailis and something like telemasartan should be prescribed to any man over 40 who wants it. He moved to Virginia or something tho 😡

Okay well i obviously have test. I have plenty of telmisartan on hand and also plenty of lisinopril on hand as well ( just in case) so I'll get the Tada on my next purchase with Mike

I'm back on schedule, I just haven't Bern posting about it because my plans had to be altered a little to get back on track. Im probably not gonna push food much till after summer now.

But Saturday I did a power day for bench and squat with some accessories.

Sunday shoulders and arms

Monday cardio

Tuesday I did chest and back supersets followed by some cardio via heavy bag.

Yesterday I did about a half hour of stretching and mobility stuff followed by 10 sets of squats in the 6-20 rep range with a close stance and hopped on the stair climber after.

Tonight I'm hitting arms again and Fridays rest or I may do some jujitsu.

IL be nice and shredded by July if all goes to plan and then IL chill in maintenance for 6-8 weeks and reverse out.

If I push now I'll have to eat a ridiculous amount of food because I'm back doing construction amongst other things.

Lost 5lbs in 5 days on 3000 calories so maintenance is probably 3500. And I really don't want to shovel down 4500+ cal a day all summer

Sounds like a good plan. I am starting an accountability thread for some of us to get in on and if you want you should hop in there. It will be starting May 1st, and we will just post up progress pics every two weeks and help keep each other accountable to our goals. Just have a place to talk some trash and offer support.

I feel like I could eat 4,500 a day comfortably if it was all fast food burgers, and hot dogs.

I remember Jimmy the Bull talking on Palumbo’s show like a decade ago about in his prime staying on Anadrol and Dbol for several years straight, and his diet was burgers and hot dogs mainly from the places down the street. I think that would be a good lifestyle for me.

He’s on dialysis now, so not that part so much.

Oh you know I can do 4500 in **** food all day every day lol, hell, I can smash 2000 calories in oreos after dinner lol.

On a serious note tho. I will be traveling some again, not as much as before but enough that all my meals will be eaten cold out of a cooler from 6am-4/5pm and I'm not about the lifestyle enough to pound cold meat and rice all day while being drenched in sweat and then having to do a bunch of labor on a full stomach every day all summer. I don't wanna fall back into that cycle like I did end of the summer last year and burn out again.

Drive while eating, work, eat, work, drive while eating, gym, eat, eat, bed.

Any time I'm around 3200 calories im loving life. I'm never really hungry, but never full and sluggish.

I actually been starting my work days with a 1000 calorie 100gm protein shake for meal 1. But I drink it over the course of a hour or 2 as I'm getting my day started.

Meal 2. Has been meat and rice or meat and a wrap with some fruit.

3. Has just been a pre workout snack, yogurt and granola.

Intra workout 8gm creatine and 12.5gm eaas, 30gm of carbs from dextrose unless I'm gonna kill it I might go as much as 100 carbs intra from dextrose and gold bears.

4. I've still been doing dinner at home with the family or eating their leftovers if I make it home late. Because the protein portions that she makes for dinner are you not usually enough for me I've been buying those party rings of cocktail shrimp and keep in one in the fridge. And I grab a handful of shrimp cocktails To go with my dinner.

5. Has been meat and eggs with a vegetable except for one night we made cookies soooooo....... ya I had 8 lol.

There’s usually eggs baked into cookies, so basically same thing.

A couple months ago seth feroce did a poll to see of you ate your meals hot or cold. He said to this day he still eats his meals cold throughout the day eventho he works in an office now with a microwave. He talked about before he became pro he ate all of his meat and rice cold because he was on construction sites all day and he looked forward to his evening meal because that was his 1 hot one for the day. I personally like mine just like lukewarm. Just enough so the food is soft. Was thinking about your work situation and trying to get meals in. Obviously you know what works for you having done this multiple times

The easiest way is to replace my carbs with wraps and pasta because I can stomach those cold. But I enjoy my food more then I enjoy bodybuilding. I have noticed that cold yellow rice with a little olive or mct oil mixes in goes down easier then white rice. I do yellow rice witj beans olives and peas sometimes cold.

Not the greatest picture but I made it with chicken and shrimp yesterday and I'm haveing it cold today for lunch
