Definitely true. Not an issue for deadlifting with straps, but makes the Continental clean or squatting with it a biotch.

I forgot that in Canada they are big on Axle Squats in comps, and at WSM often as well. So you basically have to hold it hi bar.

Glad you’re back!! Yep to all of that. I mean Strictpress is definitely harder with an axle, but the push and jerk are much smoother - it’s the clean it will get you on there.

The grip program I have been doing has been having both reverse axle curls and doh holds and it definitely has been helping get things back.

Also unrelated, but this little gem came yesterday - couldn’t resist when I saw the concentration and the price. I have some oral of each I will pair it with in a later cycle. 75mg EACH of S23 & Rad per ml...and it’s in water actually according to the label, so this will probably sting like a motherlover:

looks like fun in a bottle but water?? **** that going in. I also misread the label and thought it said ‘rage a hole’ 😂 basically what I do on tren

looking forward to keeping more up to date with the progress now bro

I can only imagine what your war chest looks like
Basically like Rocket’s protein collection
At least the orals anyway

I may make an Axle Bar to curl with
Price Fatgripz first and see if you can make something cheaper than those, because those also work on many cable attachments or dbs in addition to a bb.

Schedule 40 pipe will work
Basically all strongman axles are just made by welders and I have seen some plain pipe from the store used for women not lifting too much - could definitely just buy a length that your plates fit on for curls/extensions.

So I originally was going to make my own with 1.9” diameter schedule 40 and some pipe fittings. After calling around to some metal shops it turned out to be just as cheap to buy one. Now if you have access to the pipe this won’t be an issue. With that being said Titan sells one for $70.

Been doing a lot of mechanical and fire plumbing lately, involves frequently handling sched 40 pipe haha.
If you are tugging on a pipe wrench all day I'll bit you got a heck of a set of forearms.

Yeah, I'm not lacking for grip strength. Don't know about the arm wrestling though - most of us plumbers have pretty sore rotator cuffs most of the time!

What's in the vials? A SARM?
2 of them, in pretty high concentrations. Testolone & S23. Supposedly being nano will cause greater absorption, but injectable definitely should be more potent per mg. It appeared to be in oil when I ordered but it says it’s water-based...like test suspension would be

240 is the most I’ve ever strictpressed on a barbell (or any implement), about 5 years ago. Axle is harder strict, and I haven’t been training standing strict, so to see a PR on it and at a lower bodyweight was terrific - put about 15lbs back on it over the winter while losing weight. Planned to do some Trapbar deads but I went to failure on volume fronts & it vaporized me; legs were pumped and core felt pushed to the brink of good sense.

Getting snipped tomorrow afternoon - this time in a couple months I intend to be shooting blanks So that will mean no training for the next week likely while I heal. Going to use that time to try to drop a couple lbs and maybe do a 2-3 day fast even towards the end.

You will be g2g. I was back to normal in about 36-48 hours. Just chill and ice em up.

The anxiety a day or two before was pretty bad, and on the first snip he lost the noodle. He was down there fukkn around for like 15 minutes on one side. I kinda thought something was wrong but didn't really know, its not like I've had it done before ya know?

Once he was able to locate the noodle and pull it back down I could feel that **** in my stomach. Kinda making me a bit queezy just typing about it.

Then once that side was all fused together, the other side took literally like 4 minutes. Thats when I knew he messed up. Of course he didn't tell me until afterwards.

But besides all that, you should be good 🤠
I was back to boning in 3 days. That was a lil bit of anxiety also. Go through all that, blow a batch thinking in the back of your mind "what if I blow them fusions back open"

Procedure went well. About 20 minutes from pants off to pants on, negligible discomfort. But man, the 20mg Diazapam he gave me to be cool during the surgery has got me ZONKED lol.

Lol Thats a hefty dose of Valium. Typically they use 10 or less, I believe. They must’ve consulted their veterinarian texts and given you the gorilla dosage.

🤣🤣🤣

That’s what I was reading online to double check before administration. But I did see up to 20mg 3x a day was safe short term if necessary for some.

Doc was a pretty heavy tall guy and I could tell he could tell I was a big guy too. Also being that the goal was basically “be totally relaxed with a guy slicing into your ballsack” and not just to help some women manage her moderate anxiety affecting sleep at night, I think we were on the same page.

Haha yeah better to have too much than too little.

I used to get valium for flying and 20mg didn't seem to calm me down much without 4 shots of scotch, but if I dropped the 20 just to get a good night's sleep I'd be zonked all the next day.

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes and fun stories! Love it.

Frozen peas 30 min on & off last night tucked between my Reebok athletic undies & a pair of training tights/leggings like I would use under my clothes on a strongman day really eliminated any swelling. Didn’t need any painkiller post op at all, but I popped a Norco preemptively before bed since they were free with insurance and I didn’t know if I would wake up howling or something without icing while sleeping. Still no pain this morning & doing more icing, so I think this is going to be a super easy recovery. Just a little tugging when I first get up or move around but it’s all good. The entire experience has been ultra smooth!

Plus the wife bought me dinner & a bunch of awesome treats from the best bakery in the city afterwards

give yourself the full recovery time bro. they told me I shouldn’t lift for 2 weeks. I thought fine I’ll give it a week but tbh after the week I knew i needed longer and did end up waiting the full 14 days. I’m assuming mine went normally and I was black and blue, like a good time with a Dom went wrong 😂

don’t rush it back for the sale of a few days brother

On a none balls related topic @Hyde you normally lift using a standard hex/trap bar for trap bars deads I’m guessing?

wondered if you’d also used an open trap bar at all, and specifically if you had a view on which is better? (For context I’m getting one or the other for my home gym, I’ve used an open bar once for heavy farmers and found it slightly harder to balance evenly than a normal one but might be as I wasn’t used to it. Can see some advantages to the open bar like lunge/split squat options, ease of loading and aesthetics but interested in the views of some proper lifters).....

My Trapbar is a cheapo design that for some reason ONLY has the 2” high handle...our last gym owner was like hey do you want this for $40? So we nabbed it

I don’t really like the open ones due to balance being a little different, but once you learn it you’d be fine. They would be better for split leg work, farmer’s carries (you can just drop it with bumpers and keep moving forward without having to jump over anything if you have too much momentum), I think there are rows you can do with them even. A more versatile tool honestly if money isn’t a real object vs space.

Yeah I have the Kabuki Strength Trap HD. It's expensive compared to a standard but it's extremely versatile and durable. I especially love the built in jacks to change plates around. I need it since I can't lift the bar and load it by myself.

Fair warning, a squat bar is even harder on your arms...the primary benefit of its extra thickness is that it’s smoother to squat over like 400 because it doesn’t flex or wobble like a power bar. Unless you are doing a lot of meets or running a strength gym it’s a pretty specific item to have.

Unless you meant their Transformer Bar. That thing is dope!!!

The transformer, yes. Trust me I learned the standard BB squat bar is no go early on lol. Tried it shortly after the re-injury in July and it really messed things up more.

Recovery going well. Weighed a low of 231.2 around the 8 days ago. Kinda just went totally off the rails Thursday-Sunday. After carry out Cracker Barrel on Valentine’s breakfast and pan pizza, cookies, doughnuts that night I was 244.6 that evening!

One more day of antibiotics today so I still have to eat, but 8 hour window of 2000 cals of low carb/high protein, some potassium and bowel movements yesterday got me down to 236.2 today. That’s the plan again, probably even a lower cal, then I am planning to fast tomorrow. We’ll see where that goes; may do 2-3 days. Finish out this forced rest week with some autophagy to really heal up before a new period of training begins.

having not fasted since I started my bulk I’ve realised how much I did get from it - nothing to do with weight loss, even my 5 day water fast didn’t really equal much in the way of weight loss but as a clean up mechanism it definitely keeps things feeling better
