Dine-in for restaurants here is closing back down Wednesday, which means my favorite restaurant (all-you-can eat dine-in sushi) will be lost to me again, so I had a Last Supper. It was terrific.

Nice workout, I'm not a fan of Sushi, but I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Man I could eat my weight in sushi! Looks really good

Thanks gang; it was a great meal

Bloodwork came back finally: seems like my guts are basically healthy as ever. Everything looking normal for me with positive increases in eGFR (82), HDL (46), total testosterone (633 - this was 6.5 weeks post Clomid PCT finishing), as well as decreases in triglycerides (72), total cholesterol(173), estrogen (18), hematocrit (47%) and just generally one of the best draws I have seen in years. All blood values like rbc and platelets well within normal range.

Total Bilirubin has crept up to 1.4 (I have Gilbert’s Syndrome and my norm is usually ~1.1) so I will likely implement low dose TUDCA continually vs taking breaks from it. LDL is also a little high at 111, but it really tends to hang just over 100 so not too worried for now with the big increases in healthy HDL. I credit that to the big doses of milk thistle I have ran since coming off, and adding a bit more healthy fats and backing off fast food & sugar some.

TUDCA came in coincidentally today, so added 500mg of that with 10mg of bioperine into the daily support.

Using 200mg test e & 400mg dien e split over 2 shots weekly, and 30mg S23 daily. Eating 4-5 meals and at least 200g protein daily with an eye on eating leaner protein sources to help keep calories lower.

Yesterday I did not try to do legs as my back was pretty bad. 30 min LISS and 3x10 reverse hypers last night, and planning similar tonight, then bench in the morning.

Height & Weight ?

Sorry to hear about the back giving you fits. What did it to you? Ya just kinda noted it on the 29th. Still lingering from the log a few weeks ago you think?

Just been a little finicky after bb rows and logress, but it got pretty aggravated the morning I pulled 505x2 last week. 385 moved like garbage and I should have did more/repeated warmups but I was just exhausted by the progression over 4 weeks.

Idk other than I likely pulled out of position from overall fatigue. Logpress on it this weekend made it that much worse.

New best on total incline reps with 225. Feeling a bit depleted but that’s kinda the goal. Hopefully deadlift can happen tomorrow.

Always good to hit a new total !!

Incline prs coming consistently the last few weeks. Good to see!

Be careful with those deads tomorrow. You know how careful you have to be when doing deads and log week after week.

Yeah I really have just been using 5/3/1 to maintain my flat bench while leaving energy to focus on training my incline.

I will. I will probably try to do some frontsquats first for evaluation and some leg work, as well as use legpress as an accessory. Neutral chins, GHR & probably leg curls are staying as accessories. Deadlift will just have to be felt out. Supposed to do 455x2 and 8x2 dynamic if I feel okay with it.

I hope all go's well !!

At least its a DE day where you have the option to still hit the weight but back off the density a little to allow for more recovery between efforts.

Went into this session actually feeling 100% after moving around a lot yesterday, but Boxsquat was really hurting after a few sets. Wife suggested not sitting back as far or unloading any at the box, which definitely helped. That tells me that the back issue is probably inflamed structure, not muscular. I had to fire everything braced as hard as iron just to slowly pull a plate, so I need to take a break from deadlift & anything that will perpetuate this inflammation, including logpress.

The show Dec 12th is for holiday charity, so the money isn’t wasted if I don’t compete to my potential. I really enjoyed digging into the legpress for some quality leg work today and I think that’s going to be my focus on Thursdays for a bit.

5lb barbell PR. Turns out I was actually just push-pressing, and I wasn’t really getting the bar backwards enough and had my grip too wide to drive through to lockout on 265, but the bar got pretty high up (like 4/5 of the way).

Ankle and back are really hurting. I don’t even know what to train or train for atm lol.

Ankle?

Time to take a week and really Deload the low back bud. Belt squats, rev hypers, ham curls, etc. You’re in an acute exacerbation, dont try to be stubborn and push through it. You know how that ends.

Taking time off is hard....

Yeah you are definitely right. I already called the show promoter and I can sell my spot to a buddy if he wants it. I am going to stop loading it in any way for a week just like you suggest. I think Legpress Thursday will probably be fine; that seemed safe.

The weird thing is I felt pretty good going into the Sunday session. Nothing I was doing was hurting me, until strict Hammercurls at the end. I also felt great coming into Thursday where the boxsquat started hurting me pretty quickly.

Ankle? Is that referred pain? Take a week off everything mate!

I sprained my left ankle really badly when I was around 20 years old, missed a step jumping up into a refueling truck. I have re-sprained it once or twice over the last decade, as well torn some kind of soft tissue on top of my foot when I was 26 when some weights came off the farmer’s handles I was running while I was too dehydrated. I didn’t have insurance at the time while self-studying for a new career, so no idea what ripped but I was on crutches for Easter that year.

Anyway, it often hurts when I get out of bed. Leg days and event work seem to bother it the most, and since getting ready for the show I just did I have been had pain more days than not. Seems like any jolting like moving events or overhead pressing where my feet unload/load are really bothering my foot lately. Anything that makes the left calf tight likely. Yesterday it was pretty brutal after training.

I don’t really talk about it.

I hope you get it all healed up!

2 more reps than last wave with 290; hormones are definitely kicking in. Feeling stronger & could have did more work with incline, but I know the importance of holding back to a safe progression in this scenario. Just because I can doesn’t mean I should.

Not losing weight but seeing some physique changes already. Trying to keep food down. Doing some reverse hypers daily for my back, and going to add some cardio as I can.

Everyone loves cardio !!!

This old Dienelone from Zero Flux is smooth as hell. Same for the test I’m using. Zero PIP for 4/4 shots now. The dude abides

200 total knee bends this session - light weights, but I was wiped out by the end. Back feeling decent.

Did 45 min LISS cycle last night watching Wheels of Fortune on Netflix. If you enjoyed Hot Rod or Talladega Nights, this is a goofy one you’ll probably like too. Laughed a lot!

I tried to like belt squatting, but as soon as they turned me loose on the Transformer bar I dropped that bitch quick. Lol.

Watching the Google doc for WSM heat results update yesterday and today has been intense! Finalists are locked in now, which is going down this weekend (Nov 14/15). I honestly think every single one of the 10 finalists this year is a legitimate threat to podium, BUT my expectations for the podium, in no particular order, are Brian Shaw, JF Caron, & Tom Stoltman.

Can’t wait to see the outcome!

These guys are incredible athletes !!

I’ve got Richardson as my dark horse. That kid is stupid strong.

I am amazed he made the finals his first year at World’s - that is an incredible accomplishment in and of itself. But, your boy can’t win it no matter what now - Hicks tore his bicep on the yoke (I felt that lol) so that leaves Richardson currently in last place of the remaining 9 men:

Novikov has a good lead and Caron, Bishop & the little (big) Stoltman are right on his heels, with Pritchett still a possibility. I don’t see Shaw recovering at this point.

Tomorrow will crown a new WSM!

And just like that, 24 year old Oleksii from the Ukraine goes from Arnold Amateur Heavyweight Champion to winning WSM within 2 years! One of the smallest guys on the field, and not the absolute strongest, but a very well-rounded strongman with brutal athleticism. Speed kills!

Tom Stoltman in 2nd had a blistering win on the stones, as well as surprising everyone with a powerful win on the logpress, but his grip on the Hercules Hold proved to be his Achilles’ Heel. Caron in 3rd likewise was great throughout, but had a terrible event in the logpress medley. Jerry Pritchett just missed the podium, but a commanding lead over Shaw in points - 4th place is easily the best WSM performance of his life, at 39 years old no less. Brian had a good stone run and keg toss, but he was finishing around 5th almost every event in the finals and 5th place is just what he earned.

Luke Richardson look last (after Graham Hicks had to withdraw after getting injured in the first event of the finals), which wasn’t too much surprise considering he was struggling with a 900lb yoke in recent training, but to make the finals your first year at WSM - even Oleksii couldn’t manage that feat! If he continues this trajectory, he could be the one holding gold next year.

A really exciting WSM stacked to the brim with strong mofos this year; I can’t wait to watch it.

Excellent Report !!

Was kinda hoping to see JFC take it, but he really lost that chance when he bombed the log ladder.

I know the feels! Been watching him so many years kicking ass consistently, and he’s just an awesome lifter to watch. I am happy to see him podium at least. I feel like that’s all the casuals see, and not how many times he has been to the finals or major international comps he has smashed in recent years.

Truthfully, I wasn’t even sure Pritchett would make the finals as often as he’s tore something in recent years, but when he took 1st in his elimination heat I was beyond stoked. He was a big inspiration for me when I watched him squatting years ago.
