Bench feeling a lot stronger, probably because I have gained 10lbs in a week. Reverse dieting, out of keto, and into a cycle after being off 5 months, will do that I suppose! Belly is bloated from food but not feeling any fatter at all.

Warmed up very thoroughly for squats. 295 felt really heavy. Knees hurt per usual. Just got discouraged and shut it down. Will squat tomorrow. I think taking so much time off cycle has really caused my strength to backslide heavily.

Got my blood test results. That stupid-ass Predator keto diet only hurt my blood values. Yes fasting glucose improved a little by dropping some bodyfat, but I lost 7 points of HDL, gained 20 points of LDL, and Triglycerides DOUBLED from an excellent 53 up to 105! And BUN levels surged up from an already high 20 to 25 from all the protein, although Creatinine & eGFR more importantly remained at their usual 1.20 and 80, thankfully.

Testosterone, estrogen, LH, FSH were all good, and liver enzymes were lower than ever which was nice to see (but they were acceptable already). Blood values were normal like always, with hematocrit dropping down from 48.6 to 46.8, but all of that is pretty much just due to 3 more months off roids.

Would definitely never do that diet again. All of the red meat was genuinely bad for me. It also makes me think about switching some of my ground beef to ground turkey/chicken now. If chicken is allegedly 20x as inflammatory as beef, how come all my lipid values were substantially better only 8 weeks after Methyltren than after this beef diet natty??!

Wish I'd checked my bloods after keto last year. I fucking couldn't stand red meat for a good month after finishing that.

Smart moving listening to yourself and just pushing it back a day. Nothing harmed by that at this point.

Interesting on the bloods. One blip in trigs could be from a number of things. Your everyday mean value probably falls somewhere between those two with how extreme they are.

I think keto can definitely be done healthy, if you minimize the animal-based fats and load up on olive, avocado, nuts, flax etc. But who wants to eat chicken breast swimming in olive oil 4 times per day?

Thank you for the reaffirmation. I felt bad about it but it just wasn’t going to happen.

My trig values before last winter’s meet prep were usually 70s, which is dead between 53 & 106 so you may be on to something hopefully.

This was the day I needed to have. Today was a pretty monumental breakthrough. Was up late reading 5/3/1 Forever trying to figure out what I would do if I decided not to prep for a meet. Wendler really hammers on the eventual need for daily mobility work - the same thing he said in OG 5/3/1, but I read it when I was 20 and flat ignored it because I just didn’t need it then. But 10 years of lifting has come and gone, and it’s the piece I am missing now!

My body was warmed, loose, and completely pain free after the Agile 8. I was even JUMPING with zero pain! And squats felt like someone had just taken the restrictor plate off my engine’s intake - I was absolutely blasting 405. I only stopped at 8 reps because I was out of breath and the bar felt like it was moving down my back and overloading my unwrapped wrists - I definitely had the bar speed & power to do 2 more. My lifetime best is 410x10, so I am in a terrific place to prep for a PR.

A little hesitant to take overhead pressing out completely, but I am just going to stick to the 5th Set script for now. I have finite energy, and you don’t get to count your Strictpress in your total lol.

Tried this Friday night at the gym but my thumb skin was shredding at 225 on the Powerbar with hookgrip. Also determined that 2-finger hook is worthless for me - substantially weaker than my already volatile 3-finger setup. Just didn’t feel up for the session when 365 was slipping out of my hands, so I went home to sleep and came back to smash it Saturday morning.

I realized my bicep never tore from deadlifts, or had problems from it - it was strongman that took out my tendon for sure. And Louie Simmons tore his bicep decades ago, but still pulls same arm under in his mixed grip without issue to this day - just because it has been repaired doesn’t mean I need to coddle it. It holds for all of my pressing just fine. So I did a bunch of sets equally for both arms mixed grip and it was awesome to have zero grip fixations or worry - it was like riding a bike.

Had to delay a couple little accessories today til tomorrow due to work, but the bench felt super strong - my estimated 1RM today currently falls around 335, so I am building steam fast!

Masteron Enanthate has been added at 200mg weekly starting Sunday. First time ever using it but so far feeling great with it and seems to really balance estrogen powerfully - like taking an AI, except everything gets better instead of worse.

Thank you! I was absolutely completely demolished last night; like did a meet wrecked. Doing way better today, almost no soreness - probably my favorite part of being on cycle. RECOVERY. The Morphogen Orthogen definitely is helping my joints in the mornings when I use it too.

On that note, pretty lethargic today - PEDs aren’t a miracle after all. Knocked out a few accessories:

Bought a house in town this morning. So I got that going for me

Signed up for the meet in Plainfield on July 19th, we close on the 22nd, and have to be out of our apartment July 31st. So timing honestly will be perfect to avoid stress before comp and still have time to move.

Definitely going to get some home gym space set up. Planning on a rack and a platform on one side of the garage eventually, which even has a heater in it. Might put the yoke or an ER type combo rack to bench and squat down in the basement eventually too, although it’s not tall enough for overhead work. We’ll see!

Big boi. I’m jelly!
Honestly I’m pretty miserable. I wouldn’t have expected it to be this bad, but it’s really bad. And I’m not sure if it’s the Dymethazine (kinda always feel lousy on it, used it many times), the bit more oil, or just being heavy as ever in the summer time. And regaining so much weight so fast has been part of it, I’m sure.

I am constantly short of breath, lethargic, hot at night, snoring, and gotta rest even more between sets in training, while tiring out even faster lol.

Libido and sexual satisfaction are pretty great at least.

Tried this last night, but it was high 80s, humid from the thunderstorms, and no airflow at the gym - became massively dehydrated as I’d completely soaked my shirt through by box jumps and drank my half gallon of salted carb drink before 405 even. Belly was bloated and fluid wasn’t getting where it needed to rehydrate as fast as I was sweating so I bagged it for today.

Got up at 4am and used my key to train at 5 when it was 70* and got a fan on me; much better experience even on only 5 hours sleep.

I remember these days vividly lol. I knew it was time to lose some weight or up the gpp when i would walk the 100 yards to the cafeteria at a leisurely pace and be winded like I just sprinted it with a Rottweiler chasing after me trying to eat my nuts for an afternoon snack.

I forgot what your training frequency is right now but throwing in a day similar to what CWS lays out in some of his ATPoS templates could be worthwhile. Just gotta make sure to add a few extra 100 cals to compensate for the HIIT naturally.

1. Light specific LISS warmup (ex: 5m aerodyne light pedal)
2. 1-2 rounds of 10 aerodyne sprints starting @ 1:2 work:rest working to 30s:30s
3. 15-40m LIGHT steady state (walk, whatever)
4. Mobility (optional in this case but it could be a good place to run through your agile 8).

#2 doesnt have to be bike intervals either. Can be pool sprints (in place), mod intensity sled drag (#3 can be light intensity sled drags w/ </= 70lb), regular sprints if youre feeling crazy (probably not the best idea with your knee pain, best to keep this low impact), etc.

Edit: you also seem to be having a lot more frequent “had to push this session back a day” entries...could be from just a poor level of baseline fitness which these days could help too (could definitely be from a ton of other things too, but you take recovery very seriously so id expect most of those things to be well taken care of). The 4 sessions in 9 training days per microcycle on 5th set is supposed to be relatively easy to recover from. Other than your knee pain pushing back squats a day there shouldnt be too many other times where that happens, right? Maybe time to back off the total V some...could be operating too far over your MRV too frequently?

I think there’s a lot of good points here. For one, a 15 minute walk alone is now actually conditioning (as opposed to 2 weeks ago). Doing the Agile 8 pre-training takes a LOT of energy out of me with all of the jumping around doing mountain climbers and groiners, etc.

Regarding moving the sessions now, I am staying on schedule with 5th Set, just spending rest days to re-attempt. But that wasn’t always so lately, for a big variety of reasons. Before it was a keto deficit coupled with increased frequency of different training and lacking mobility work. Now it has been basically fitness related: too easily winded coupled with grip issues on the deadlift, weather affecting when/where/how I can deadlift, and some family events for good measure.

The mobility needs are getting met, the family events have been navigated, the grip is finally beginning to get worked around, but I need to accomplish more conditioning.

Makes sense in regards to the sessions moving around. External life x-factors were included in the “a ton of other things” i mentioned so it may make sense to just stick to it for a bit longer to see if you can mitigate the sessions moving around so much as you continue to get past those things.

I think we’re on the same page about the benefits some improved cv conditioning/gpp would provide for you. I get you’re 12 (ish?) weeks from a presumed comp...but maybe just dedicating one day a week to those intervals in addition to whatever LISS walks you were doing for the next 4-6 weeks could really help you as you get deeper into comp prep / peaking.

I definitely should try.

Much closer - I begin final peaking mesocycle in just 3.5 actual weeks. July 19th is the meet.

Yeah nothing truly intense, but any extra easy activity is definitely worthwhile. Just walking often will be helpful. Honestly as long as I can get through my big lifts and the primary strength accessory always, I am confident I will get stronger in a surplus and on the gear. Things like rear delt flyes and shrugs aren’t going to make or break the total at this point. They are longterm health/balance investments.

The other day I used a cue I saw on Coan’s IG and I double PR’d my duffalo bench. “Lift your big toe inside your shoe while the rest of your foot is planted”. That was the beat damn bench cue I’ve ever read and it proved itself. Immediate and more powerful lat activation with no more foot movement. If I had a spotter available I would have pushed the duffalo bench further because I had way more in the tank.

Loading chart says 160kg is 352.7lbs...you decide

I would say so. I really absolutely think about crushing the bar with my hands and bending it as I lower it with/into my lats. Meanwhile I am driving my heels down to keep my hips up so my torso can meet the bar high as possible. Then I think about driving them down even harder as I drive thru my hips into my traps and reverse the bar back up as forcefully as I can. Like Scott said, you are trying to store and release a tidal wave of violent energy, or something cheesy like that that honestly ends up making a lot of sense.

He is a really cool dude and I wish I would have another opportunity to talk with him again some more. America’s Strongest Woman was going to be in California (where he lives) at the Beer Festival this summer before COVID cancelled it, so his woman Ashley would definitely have been competing (she took 2nd in Middleweight at Strongest Woman in the World in Norway and won America’s Strongest Woman in 2018).

Congrats on the PR!!!
Thanks! Been 6 months since a squat PR, so I’m ready for it!

Had to wake up early after 5 lousy hours of sleep to drive 2 hours each way to move my little sister into her new apartment. But it was good accessory work

Yesterday we went rafting on the Vermillion River for a few hours. Between Squatting Friday, moving furniture Saturday morning, and paddling Sunday I got some great accessory work in! Calves, hams, low back all feeling it.

06/02/20 - Day 31, Wk3 2nd Press
BW 258.2

Widegrip Bench
45,95,140x15
180 2x25 PR

BB Skullcrushers
95 2x10

One-Arm Monster Miniband Pressdown
2x25/arm overhand, then underhand

Monster Miniband Pullaparts
4x30 w/ 45 sec rests

Must be the orals, but I just have zero GPP. I literally decided to just lay down on the bench and start pressing, which worked alright - except for the Charlie horse I got on the second set of 25. Kicked my leg out, collapsed my arch, and just pressed out the rest of the set like a bodybuilder no problem.

I may not be able to breath during sex, but boy I am strong AF right now

06/03/20 - Day 32, Wk4 Deadlift
BW 259.0

Jumping Jacks
Agile 8

Box Jumps
2x5

Deadlift, powerbar
135x3
225,315,365,405x2 (1 for each mixed grip)
+belt, alternating grips every set
445 2x3
455 2x3
465x3

Blockpulls
435 3x3

Sumo Blockpulls w/straps
435x10

Well, confirmed my suspicion: trained first thing this morning at the gym with the wife and skipped my preWO orals. Zero issues with heart rate or exhaustion, and the only reason I didn’t get more work done was I had to get home to work. Best feeling training session in a long time & the weights were flying. Took my orals post.

Today ends the 75mg Mbol, and also stopping the 40mg DMZ to save the rest of that for last 2 weeks of prep. Adding 30mg Rad140 in the mornings daily for the next 17 days to bridge me to the last month of prep, as well as 15mg Mk677/Ibutamoren 5 days on/2 off to help promote hunger and better recovery.

Seems like every time you post a pic your delts and upper arms get exponentially bigger.

Plan to skip the orals until post workout now? Maybe except for days where near max intensity and lower volumes are planned?

Lol higher concentration of androgen receptors in the upper body, especially delts & traps. My arms always fill out much better on cycle too, and of course in general I have been gaining weight and putting on muscle. My quads are looking bigger and harder too! Had to break the stitching in my (newer) boxer briefs the other day so they would still fit around my thighs.

I always hate my arms specifically off cycle. Like someone let the air out of them

Yes, definitely. I always felt like they might be hurting things but never tested it. I mean it’s harder to keep them out of your system when training after work (morning dose will still be present in blood), but for any morning training they will always wait til post.

Getting huge
What in God’s name kind of monster is this supposed to be? Holy crap you’re like Sasquatch and a Grizzly had a baby and then gave that baby Anadrol and myostatin inhibitors in a dextrose and mct-based solution round the clock intravenously while hooked up to electronic hypertrophic conductor pads. You look like you could squish a baby’s head between the soft meat of your hands!
