Why are you acting like we don't all read this thread lol. You have said repeatedly that you don't believe in wearing a mask and only do so because you don't want to stand out...if I am misquoting you, please correct me.
One store here and there is not going to help. And if you leave it up to the individual stores, even the ones that start off making customers wear masks or whatever will eventually stop. They'll be competing with other stores that don't make their customers wear masks and will eventually drop their rules to get more customers. As for the hospitals, the virus is still here and hospitals still can't handle the influx.
And this doesn't apply to you but reminded me of something...It's amusing to me how so many people who are now in favor of stores being able to do what they want in their stores were the same ones acting like the world was ending when Target wanted to control their own bathrooms.
You mean the same people saying how it’s unfair for Facebook to ban/block certain topics/ideas/people? They’re a private company, so they should have the right to do that, no? Both sides are so hypocritical, but the right is the one really showing that during this pandemic.
Like the preppers who claim they can last years in their bunker eating canned foods, but when they have to stay in their houses for a few months, but can still go for walks and to the grocery store, and have WiFi, they cry how they desperately NEED a haircut and a new tattoo.
I think Hobby Lobby should enforce those rules in their private property.
Perhaps if you wanted to go enforce social distancing and protective gear in a public place that’s a fair compromise....I can live with that I already volunteer, it’s a smart move.
My big honest beef really is how long and hard the shutdowns were, it all started off only because the hospitals couldn’t meet projected capacity, So fine do you what you gotta do.....and then it became bigger and much more prolonged than that.
The government absolutely has the right to enforce occupancy rules on private property. They’ve done it forever with fire codes and maximum occupancy limits. Saying a private company should be able to do ANYTHING they want on private property is silly, and has NEVER been a thing in the US. And I’m pretty damn libertarian leaning, but that’s just a silly argument.
If private companies should be able to have as many people as they want, and do anything they want, in normal times, we should abolish maximum occupancy codes, right? If a building currently coded for 100 people wants to cram in 1,000, that’s their right? Who cares if there’s a fire and they all die, right?
the older i get the less i trust the government to be truthful about anything.
Yes, but then you should be calling them out on it, not praising them for it, like ax seems to be doing.
That's not the entire problem though. If we had a rational leader who based decisions on facts and logic, you'd still have people cramming into Hobby Lobby without a mask in sight because they think "freedom" gives them a blank check to do whatever they want. That's not how an adult should act or think; it's how a 3 year old acts and thinks. But that's where we currently are in this country.
It’s like in elementary school when the class has to be quiet for 5 minutes, but a few idiots won’t shut up, and it ends up taking 30 minutes. Idiots extend the time that stricter measures will need to be in place.
Except we're living in a time when facts are questioned and even called lies. You've done it yourself with school shootings, so how is that a plan? People don't believe actual experts and call talking heads on their preferred news channel the actual "experts." The so-called adults in this country have shown that they can't act like adults, so they've earned this.
Also, this isn't just a US thing. It cracks me up that people seem to think the entire world is participating in a lie just for US politics.
Exactly. Every country on earth more or less is in on this together? Even countries that are enemies? If it was BS, surely an enemy of the US would just make that known, and spread the seeds of distrust people have in their government. It’s as silly as people claim the earth is flat and NASA is tricking the US people. If that was true, why wouldn’t Russia or China show us that the earth is actually flat, which would destroy the US population’s trust in their government.
Thats what they should do, absolutely. I just think people need to be careful what they are told. Id rather have private companies inform the public, not a centralized government division and government can do their own thing with their own stamp on it. People can choose who to go by, if they trust the government listen to them. They are all free to share data and source each other.
They need to be careful of what the government tells them because people like YOU praise them for giving the people incorrect info...
Yeah absolutely is a time to limit travel/business. If there is something going on government can inform the public and try to back their facts and people along with private companies can respond from there. For example, if the movie theaters open tomorrow, here in NY I am not going. It shouldnt be dictated by the government, but if they want to stay home please do.
Except you’re defending the government NOT informing the public and backing their facts... you’re actively praising them for lying to the people with incorrect data...
