Anyone still supporting Trump?

He copy/pasted part of a definition from a dictionary and considered that the quintessential source on political and economic ideologies.

A definition that you couldn't comprehend obviously since you misinterpreted it either from ignorance or on purpose

Not a big deal...a lot of ppl dont know what socialism is...that was obvious in this thread, you were guilty of this

I just think your being overly dogmatic on your own understanding on what the definition of socialism is.

Considering I was the only one in here that was remotely close to accurate...I would disagree

Making **** up to try and fit something is not just doesnt work

In that case socialism is a concept that never has been put into practice in the history of civilization. It doesnt exist outside of a definition or textbook being the textbook was adhering to the great standards MarianWebster.

Lets move onto a new word of the day rather than the past, we will go with the word "Flibbertigibbet" Thoughts? Do you know how to spell it? Tell me about it and what thoughts first come to mind. Please avoid posting a thesis.

It's funny when someone takes bias out and uses an official source of information rather than interpretations of ppl on a bodybuilding site that ppl get salty haha

And no socialist countries have existed

I dont speak for the others but Im not claiming pure socialism with the statements I make out of a dictionary in the first place. You created this monster.

Think about sex....if you use a condom or stick it in only half way its still sex.

If the tip fits, sex

This is equivalent to someone citing an official study to back up their point and everyone else using bro science to say the opposite

I'm saying socialism has existed....a comma?

You have a tough time handling being wrong dont you?

What am I wrong on? That you don't know the difference between communism and socialism? That you claim Biden was never named in the Trump transcript? That you think that a comma doesn't change what you were trying to say?

Oh and that you think health care only refers to insurance lmao. Yes, somehow the world is out to get you and we're all the ones that are wrong.

Right, because you can read emotion in other people's text. Or it's just you jumping to accusing the other person of being upset when you have nothing else. So troll away until your little buddy comes here to tell me how mean I'm being to you.

Ok, let's go just a little beyond the dictionary I used in elementary school.

Market socialism is a type of economic system involving the public, cooperative or social ownership of the means of production in the framework of a market economy. Market socialism differs from non-market socialism in that the market mechanism is utilized for the allocation of capital goods and the means of production.[1][2][3]

1. O'Hara, Phillip (September 2000). Encyclopedia of Political Economy, Volume 2. Routledge. p. 71. ISBN 978-0415241878. Market socialism is the general designation for a number of models of economic systems. On the one hand, the market mechanism is utilized to distribute economic output, to organize production and to allocate factor inputs. On the other hand, the economic surplus accrues to society at large rather than to a class of private (capitalist) owners, through some form of collective, public or social ownership of capital.

3. Comparing Economic Systems in the Twenty-First Century, 2003, by Gregory and Stuart. ISBN 0-618-26181-8. (p. 142): "It is an economic system that combines social ownership of capital with market allocation of capital...The state owns the means of production, and returns accrue to society at large."

Which further proved what I was saying...thank you

N-no... sorry I meant to post a more in depth explanation before my kid threw a tantrum but here are the broad strokes:

Market mechanism = Trump's trade war.

Allocation of capital goods = giving farmers the money they need in order to keep their stuff.

combines social ownership of capital with market allocation of capital = capital does NOT have to be 100% state owned.

In the elementary form of socialism you laid out, there is no market.

So, again the trade war is a market mechanism that lead to a need for a different distribution/allocation of economic output (in this case, money) within a system that includes BOTH private ownership (market allocation of capital) and state ownership of capital (socialism).

Annnd... you are still wrong

Anyway I'm not going to do this again, I've already debunked every twist you guys tried to throw in to somehow make something fit that just doesnt

You haven't debunked anything. You've basically just said "nope" to everything posted offering no evidence beyond an elementary school definition of socialism.

I went back and looked just to make sure I recalled correctly. You've offered no links, no quotes, no citations, nothing other than the aforementioned sophomoric definition even when asked whereas the rest of us have done any or all of those things and then you have the hubris to claim the opposite.

Trolling 💯

Good job man. Solid.

Watch what you wish for...we could have 8 more years of obama or even worse...socialism

What would make you believe that going back the direction of Obobo can lead to something worse such as socialism?

Obobo wasnt a socialist, I looked up his policies and they dont correlate to the definition I found in the Marian Webster.

He even said his policies were moderately conservative.

I didn't call obama a socialist

I said going back to obama as president is worse

I then said also moving towards socialism would be worse

I had called out for the impeachment of Obobo within months of his first term and thinks he should live rest of life in a detention center for mass human rights violations, but are most of his policies truly any different though than Dumps?

I wouldnt worry about the US being soclialist based of your definition of it, that pretty much is close to impossible in our lifetime. Its economy has a big grip as fascist for the most part and powers to be either Obobo or Dump, they have no interest in changing that....but maybe you can prove me wrong.

I quoted an article written from the left wing point of view from ohio state...but sure

Yeah but u call out for everyone to be arrested for war crimes and whatever else..so I take that with a grain of salt

And yes the policies were different

And sure I may be dead before america is a true socialist state but once it starts. It's not like what gets implemented is just going to go away if a sane person takes office after

I quoted an article written from the left wing point of view from ohio state...but sure

That was in regards to the Freddie and Fannie bailouts which was a whole other can of worms.

It's not like we don't know what farmers are going to invest in.

Everybody else: I would refer back to Marx and Engels if we're discussing socialism
Young Gotti: Those guys are hacks! Now this random stranger I found on the internet from Ohio State...that's an expert!

fitting I was going to talk about marx and yes he is a hack....but you should read some of his stuff to really grasp what socialism is

the topic was govt bailouts being socialist or not....don't move the goal post

The topic was Trump's farm bailouts. That aside, the Freddie and Fannie bailouts were an extremely unusual situation but rather than going down that rabbit hole, I'll give you there is a tangential relationship.

Ok, question for ya. Do you think welfare programs are socialist?

Yeah but u call out for everyone to be arrested for war crimes and whatever else..so I take that with a grain of salt

Well Ive been doing that alot lately, but we have NSA, Patriot Act, IRS income tax system, Medicare+SS, harassment and detainment of journalists, support for the unFederal Reserve, restricting 2nd amendment rights, quantitative easing, foreign aid...etc....

Most of their policies are the same, perhaps some incremental debates on how to implement them and at what cost but thats it. Dump is Obobo's 3rd term.

Yeah once we let them infringe on our rights its really hard to go back. Usually this happen when society gets into a position of comfort, they dont look long term as if nothing can really go wrong and allow/support these big government/corporate policies to happen.

Welfare and socialism have been debated pretty frequently.....welfare is not the same as socialism

So, are entitlement programs socialism under your definition?

No...not everyone is entitled to social security, you need to qualify and pay in....some professions dont even pay into it

Using medicare for all as an example, you are forced into it weather you paid for it or not and you get the same care regardless of how much if any taxes you've paid

So, no part of Social Security is socialist? Ok. Where do you land on public roads, libraries, security (police), Fire Departments, etc.?
