Kat and Puccah's Strong is the new sexy log

I pulled out the two piece for the first time this summer. I'm not satisfied with where I am but I'm proud of how far I've come over the years! I've worked hard to get here- why should I focus on all of the parts I don't like?!

You should pull that out a little more often!!

Funny how we focus so hard on something that others don't notice, isn't it

Looking good young lady.

Thank you guys so much! I have a really hard time with it but I'm working on it!

It really is funny the things we are critical of in ourselves and things many won't notice. -especially when I know I don't look at people that way! SFreed

Today I started keto. I've got Chris setting me up a new nutrition and training program to help me drop 25-30lbs. I'm really excited to get things rolling. Chris is awesome and really knows his stuff!!

I don't think you need to drop that many lbs!!!

Welcome to the dark side ......when you do keto right you're almost never hungry.....

We will see as things progress, I'll go mostly by the mirror but according to my calculations, it should be pretty close.

Lol thanks! It's been a long time since I've done keto. I am definitely still craving carbs. It I think it's mostly mental. Lol

Awesome numbers Kat!!

Thank you!!

Looking great, rocking the bikini!

Thank you Simon!!

I started my new workout yesterday and it was brutal fun if that makes any sense! Haha

Strength, Endurance, and Metabolic Focus

*3 Giant sets- 20 reps each exercise no rests*

Dead Lifts
Flat Bench Press
Squat
Wide DB Bent over Rows (elbows out)
Romanian Dead Lift
Side lateral raises
Arnold press
Lunge Squats
DB Curls

20lb DB's- big lifts
10lb DB's- smaller lifts

Oh and side note from the workout yesterday...that junk mixed with Radiate- I was drenched and dripping sweat and it only took 20 mins to complete.

Also forgot to note I did a lot of mobility work, stretching, and rolling as well as 10 mins of sprints.

Anyone here from Puccah lately ?????

Keep up the amazing work Kat, it's really showing!!

Hey guys! Just dropping in to say hello! I'm 3 weeks into my new program/cut. Down about 6lbs. I haven't taken measurements yet but clothes are definitely looser. Keto is not my fav but it's working and it keeps me from snacking on things I shouldn't snack on. I do like the cheese, ribeye steaks, bacon, and avocado though! Haha Training is brutal but fun at the same time for us twisted minded type right?!

I have a request...we have started the process to building a house and selling our current house. We will be moving late fall. The new house will be about 20 mins to the closest gym and 30-45 mins from work. This will make my early morning training more challenging so I want to start looking for equipment to be able to train at home some. Budget will be very tight to begin with and hopefully be able to build over time. What do you guys suggest starting with and where do you suggest looking. (Name brands etc as well)

Titan fitness has good prices on rack, and fringe sports runs deals on bars and weights

Check these guys out. Get in touch with them and ask about sales, deals etc

I built most of my home gym with used equipment bought on Craigs List. You need to check it everyday but some of thee deals are increasable.

I would start with a power rack and a good bench. I had an awesome link that wasme got his stuff from. It is priced well and has options to add on cable crossover attachments and everything. It is what I intend to purchase when I upgrade my stuff at the house.

Simon, get in here with that link. I can't find it in my favorites anymore.

Titan also has some decent stuff for pretty cheap.

I got most of my stuff off of craigs list though. You can really find some good deals there if you look. You can probably find a rack with 400-400lbs of weight, a barbell and bench for 250-400 on easily on craigs list. The full universal set in my garage was like $300 when my brother in law got it off of there, and was $1800 new. He gave it to me when he moved because he didn't have room for it. It is nice having a good cable system at the house for the accessory work.

The bench / squat rack I have at the house came with a Texas Power Bar = $300+ brand new with 390lbs of olympic weight = $1+ lb, and the bench / squat rack = $400 new. So over $1000 worth of equipment for $250, oh and he threw in an exercise ball and a few random dumbbells to boot.

Wow, those prices.

^^ FOR REAL!! Those are some excellent prices!!

Thank you guys!! I am cheap so when I was looking, all I could think was "man, it will take me 10 years to get a decent amount of gym equipment" ...but hubby is all about me being able to train at home and he said he is GOING to build me a good home gym!(he's not cheap like me lol)... I am very excited about it all! My current gym membership is paid for through July so even if it takes until then to get a decent amount of stuff built up, I can still go there at least 1-2 days a week.

I am debating on one of the racks that folds up against the wall (like Rogue has) to help save on space but wondering if it's worth it/if I'll ever actually fold it back up.

If you don't think you will fold it back up then don't bother with it. If you do though don't skimp and get a knock off. You don't want to have to shim that thing every time you pull it out or you will just leave it to avoid the pain in the ass.

I definitely want to get a quality rack either way. It's just hard for me to imagine how much of the garage it will take up. I would like the option to occasionally park in the garage. Haha It's a 2 car garage. I've never had a garage so I guess maybe that's why I have a hard time picturing it.

Haha true. Unloading groceries in the rain sucks though! ?

But for real...do you think the quality of the rack is better on one that doesn't fold?

The non folding rack probably will hold more weight, but will you ever need that extra strength?

I think tht if you get a good folding rack and reinforce the wall like you should then a folding rack will be just as good as a solid for your needs. The good ones have 800-1000lb weight rating. I just wouldn't get a fly by night one or a cheaper one trying to save money. The rack is important, you want to feel stable and safe. It is the cornerstone of your home gym. Other thoughts to consider, what other type of movements do you want to be able to do? Are you going to want a lat pull/row attachment, and dip station? If so then a full rack would be the way to go. My current one has both and you can find them on craigslist pretty easily.

It takes up less room having all of that be a part of the rack instead of needing multiple devices for each movement.

Thank you! I agree! That is one of the most important pieces! I definitely don't want to skimp on that. I also feel that the pulley would be a great addition to have! I'd rather have the full set and most everything I need in the rack than several other additional pieces of equipment.

That's what I'm thinking! I definitely don't think I will ever be lifting that much. Haha

Even if you get a rack without a pulley, check out spud inc they sell a lot of simple cable things and such for add ons
