I used to enjoy Starbucks Vanilla Frappes constantly. Not sure if I have a need for this though cause I'm not really a coffee guy.

Just so people are aware.

We have actually broken our usual rule on this and there is no limit on quantities. :)

Folks, I picked some up to try as well but those of you talking about the price do understand that it's the same as Select has been on Insiders if you take into account price per serving? Correct? Hello, math?

$0.75/serving on Select is great value, warranted a purchase from me

Yes, you are correct and I noticed this. It is only a 20 serving tub. Having said that, I would normally buy a bunch of Select on insiders to stock up and $15 a tub gives me a lower total cost for 4 tubs than if they were 27 servings per tub .. I was just worried about total expenditure.

Select has great insider pricing as well though. As far as I have seen, nobody here has said Select Cafe has better pricing than Select insiders, simply that it is a great price.

Also, price per serving is only one factor. A lot of people want to try something before knowing how much they will buy in the future so the cheaper price due to the smaller tubs is a more attractive proposition I.e. trying a new product for only $15 versus trying a new product for $20. :)

Not a a coffee addict, but I get a lot of caffeine in via supplements. I do like the caramel specialty drinks when the wife purchases from places, but know its nothing but sugar and empty calories.

Looking forward to trying these out in the blender and nabbing some lo cal reddi whip.

Ordered 11 tubs.

Putting my faith in you, bdcc and Driven2lift

(even though Ben thinks I'm ungrateful)

Woah!

I thought I'd have the biggest order with 9 (added a last minute Mocha)

You sir are more awesome than I

Oh well ... I am sad man... Beast of 11 and driven of 9...
I only bought 2 LOL, with the 75$ tax limit I bought them with a 55 servings blondie :D
By the way... What will be the standard price after the insider ? I am thinking of grabbing more in a separate order

Hoping to get my wife on board. Financially and for health it makes a ton of sense. But that woman wastes so much coffee, I will have a very hard time just letting her have her own tub lol

IMO, women who enjoy coffee are going to love Select Cafe series. Most have a difficult time getting in quality protein sources (on top of that, even getting an adequate protein amount in per day), so something like this, will come in very handy.

I'm going to need to hide some for myself, Jana is a fiend for coffee and drinks like these.

My household will be saving big $ if she ends up liking these

Moral dilemma;

My girlfriend wastes loads of money drinking various fancy coffee take out drinks. There is a drive through one minute from our house.

So I could get her into these, help her diet and save her money.

... except I know she will steal mine and not buy her own tub.

Tricky decisions.

^Exactly.

I need at least a few to myself, coffee cakes and some fun things will be happening I'm sure, after testing them as intended

Baking with these are going to be very popular.

Along with others, excited to see what you come up with.

Thinking about getting some myself for my wife and I before class.

Neither of us drink coffee currently though, and it just seems expensive compared to regular coffee to help get moving.....

.75 cents a serving is expensive?

Vs. Instant coffee maybe

But yuck, lol.

+20g protein with Select
And I'd wager these flavours > instant coffee easily

$15 (sale price) every 2 weeks is $30 a month, plus shipping (and then full price after this sale).

Yeah, I'd say that is expensive.

but at 1 serving a day 20 servings would last nearly 3 weeks...

I got 5 of the caramel machiatto -- if it tastes as good as SB, I'm good.

ps, Driven2lift -- when you bake, make sure to use Alphamine to make a glaze. Gotta get them wired ;)

Yeah, I'd say that is expensive.

If you aren't a coffee drinker at all, why buy it? You don't wanna get hooked on coffee, especially if you think this is expensive. A medium cup of black coffee is like $2.25 at dunkin donuts...if you go once a day for a week that's $15.75 for 7 cups. You get 20 cups of Select for about the same price and each cup has 20 grams protein? It's not too bad if it actually replaces coffee. I have a feeling it's going to wind up being an afternoon treat for me though instead of a morning replacement...

I'm not looking at this as a replacement protein drink, but as a possible replacement for a $5 Starbucks drink with way better macros that happens to have protein. That comparison (even at regular price) is a no brainer.

Talked my mom into buying some... Honestly don't know how I can use this in my diet due to the caffeine (all my powder intake is pre bed/nighttime), but I really wanted to try the flavor. Really hoping these flavors eventually get released without the caff so it can actually be used post workout, later in the day, by people who cant have stims, etc.

The only thing I hate is its a single scooper for me... Lately I've been mixing two scoops of protein with 10 oz coffee

but at 1 serving a day 20 servings would last nearly 3 weeks...

2 people, 1 per day, 10 days (M-F) is 2 weeks.

I would never buy a coffee, the cost of that is absurd.

Making instant coffee is dirt cheap.

I am only considering it because I'm starting college in 1.5 weeks and won't be able to get to bed earlier than 0100 S-Th because of work. (Same for my wife)

I love your frugal nature! Definitely have to appreciate that, but that's kind of what I'm saying - don't get hooked on coffee, you will be buying it and it's like any other addiction. If I have to be honest, I don't even really like coffee all that much, I just get it because my gf wants it and she doesn't like it either - she mixes so much sugar and milk with it that it's more like a milk shake with coffee flavoring - but somehow we just keep buying it. Don't ask me. At least, for me, I've gone to black with some Splenda or truvia so I don't have a 300 calorie a day habit with no nutritional benefit.

Does anyone have the photo of the actual tub. Just want to see how big the tub is so that my custom won't be suspicious that i'm buying 5 tubs to sell instead of for own consumption

Yeah, I'd say that is expensive.

30$ a month, at full/retail price, say 40$ a month. I find that FAR from expensive.

Again, we market this to replace coffee. So again, far less expensive than coffee, even at a gas station.

To each their own though.

For those who have tasted all three, which of those have the strongest coffee taste. I'm not a regular coffee drinker but i don't hate it. I also have a sweet tooth so anything sweet with a hint of coffee would be ideal for me.

I will admit I don't often frequent coffee shops but I do leave half wasted kcup brews. I can tell you I honestly won't be wasting any of these drinks and for sure will replace my cup of joe. :)

Plus shipping, say $50 a month. I find that to be incredibly expensive when compared to my current cost of $0 a month.

I also find it to be incredibly expensive compared to this:

I'm not saying it isn't a good product for the price, I'm just saying I haven't personally decided whether it is worth the extra cost over other options. (Those being regular coffee that I would make or just not having any)

Compared to zero, it is definitely an added expense. But for someone like me who is a habitual coffee drinker, it works in my flavour (geddit haha). Better macros, maybe slightly more expensive given exchange rate and shipping costs but it would mean I dont need additional coffee or protein powder. Kills two birds with one stone for someone like me

As soon as I get mine in, I'll get reviews up from the wife and I.

Gonna make sure The Solution gets to taste test them as well.

Yeah, it makes perfect sense for someone who already has a pretty large monthly expense for coffee.

There's protein in that?

That's weird, I thought this was being marketed as a coffee replacement, and I could've sworn that Folgers was coffee.

Are you guys now saying it's just a protein with caffeine?

No, Jim. He is saying of course it is cheaper to buy a jar of regular coffee vs the cost of coffee from coffee shops or coffee with protein in.

This debate makes so little sense because what is cost effective to one person isn't necessarily cost effective to another.

- If someone buys a lot of coffee shop coffee, they can save some money if they switch and get better macros on their drink.
- If someone is buying instant coffee and drinking it straight with no protein added, this will inevitably be more expensive.

As with any purchase, how cost efficient it is depends on the individual, their circumstances and their finances. :)

Jim man...
I am not buying this to replace my coffee, I am buying it because it is a delicious coffee drink, which is not f***ed up like others... And the reps are comparing it not to the regular coffee from starbucks, but to the calories blown delicious ones (and expensive).

50$ are not easy for me also in this stage of life, I understand you... But a 20$ for every purchase of select protein, where you can alternate between coffee and this, or even drink both sometimes, I guess it is totally worth it.

And your instant coffee ... I would only drink that while i am in the middle of a desert, and the only other coffee source available is milking a camel :D
I prefer cooked home roasted and instantly crushed coffee. And it is still not very cheap , and not expensive... I am sure few here in the forums drink coffee the way it should be drank .

That doesn't sound like what he was saying here:

I agree.

I'm also not the one attacking someone when they mention that it isn't particularly cost effective for them (or doesn't seem to be) like was done here:

30$ a month, at full/retail price, say 40$ a month. I find that FAR from expensive.

Can't argue with any of that.
