I mixed 1 scoop of Iced Mocha with 6 oz of cold water and shook in a shaker cup, I'll try this with almond milk at some point. Then I poured the drink over a glass filled with ice. This was so good, and very smooth! From the coffee to the mocha chocolatey flavor it was balanced and smooth. I think even a non coffee drinker would enjoy this as it wasn't overpowering. I really enjoyed this and think I'm going to go make another now :D

For anyone who has asked or has wondered why we put caffeine in the Select Cafe series, I explained in another thread so shall post it here. :)

We have fans telling us they mix certain Select flavours in coffee (CnC, snickerdoodle, vanilla) and there are also people who regularly buy very calorie dense coffee drinks.

It is potentially a very healthy swap from something lower in protein, higher in fat, higher in sugar and higher in calories to something that is high protein, low calorie, low carb and low fat.

However, if someone is in the habit of having a morning coffee, substituting it with regular coffee flavour protein powder isn't likely to do the trick because a lot of people are drinking coffee for the caffeine and not always strictly for the taste. We could have made a coffee flavour Select but decaffeinated coffee sales are estimated to be only a tiny percentage of total coffee sales which emphasises that when people drink coffee, most of them want caffeine in it.

Therefore a coffee flavour Select wouldn't have worked well as a coffee replacement unless we included caffeine (100mg is there to replicate an average amount that a coffee drinker would consume, depending on the coffee type of course).

This is why we made Select Cafe Series vs just a regular flavour of Select. It is designed for people to replace their usual higher calorie and indulgent drinks with something that is lower in calories and higher in protein.

This is why it is not designed as a regular protein powder. If someone drinks 2 scoops of whey per day and replaces that with 2 scoops of Select Cafe Series, they will be consuming an extra 200mg of caffeine per day which many would see as a negative. On the other hand, if someone is drinking macchiatos, frappes and mochas regularly, they could be saving themselves hundreds of calories per day.

To reiterate for someone who wants the tl;dr version, it is designed to be a coffee replacement with healthier macros, not necessarily designed to replace regular protein powder usage.

We said it is best not to 'just' throw into a shaker and drink like a normal protein powder. Mixing it in a shaker itself is obviously fine but we suggest adding to ice rather than just chugging it from a shaker.

From the label:

Classic Iced
Mix 1 scoop of Select Café Protein with 6-8 oz
of cold water, milk, or milk-substitute. Shake in
a shaker cup or stir with a spoon. Pour mixed
drink into a cup of ice and enjoy!

If the price point on these is the same as the 55 serving I'll be grabbing a few. If not, I have no qualms about continuing to mix cold brew plus Select protein :)

Good to know you would buy a 20 serving tub from us for the same price as a 55 serving tub. ;)

He is correct, the price per serving will be similar to regular Select so the price per tub will be cheaper. :)

Price per scoop of 20 servings vs price per scoop of 55 servings being close I meant.

Great to hear then, I usually only have a shake in the AM so i'll be glad to see that.
 
While I wait I finally cracked open my frosted chocolate cupcake select. So far it leads all proteins in consistency and man the taste is on point. Not too rich at all which was nice.

I never tried the OG chocolate Select, but I bought 2 - 55 serving tubs of the FCC Select and it's definitely strong in my list. I'm not sure how I'd rank them, but I can understand when people say FCC is their new favorite. I love peanut butter anything so I feel obligated to like PBC the best, but CNC may actually be my favorite and chocolate and PBC are probably tied for 2nd. Snickerdoodle 3rd, then Vanilla. Not a fan of the Blondie at all though. lol.

It is amazing for sure. I really loved that it doesn't clump up what so ever as well. It just seems to dissolve right into anything you mix it with. 2 quick rotations with a spoon and down the hatch.

Wasn't going to get any, but at that price it's kinda hard to pass it up, so I picked up a couple. Looking at the macros, way smarter than the coffee shop drinks I buy once a week. Counting on PES to deliver on the flavor (which they always do).
 
I opened the insider on my phone and said, in my head, "I don't know if I'm going to do this because I've spent a ton on supplements lately and I'm short on cash. I will do it if it's like, $15 a bottle" ....thinking I was safe. Now I have to buy 4 bottles when I get to a computer. Haha.
 
Talked my mom into buying some... Honestly don't know how I can use this in my diet due to the caffeine (all my powder intake is pre bed/nighttime), but I really wanted to try the flavor. Really hoping these flavors eventually get released without the caff so it can actually be used post workout, later in the day, by people who cant have stims, etc.
 
I'll just say it......Buying decaffeinated coffee is like going to a hooker for a hug. It just don't make sense.
 
Picked up two Carmel machiattos and a vanilla frappe. If they taste anything like the coffee flavors I'll be good to go and I can hopefully stop my family's dunkin donuts / Starbucks addiction. Hopefully my wife likes them as well. Figured for $50 shipped at the insider, that's a week of coffee between us, and a lot healthier as well.
