What are some of the best products marketed towards sleep/recovery/"hgh boost" on the market today. Have been having a hard time getting a really good night's sleep even though I've been giving myself at least 8 hours. Looking for something a little more than just a melatonin pill. Thanks!
I've tried Muscle Pharm's "Arnold Series Iron Dream". Not bad - not great but for the price it was hard to beat. I'm planning on picking up another for when I start my LGD cycle. Sleep is always underrated.
Some "+" with Iron Dream:
- cost.
- taste (had grape) wasn't bad. Nothing special but it wasn't a problem putting down.
- simple list of ingredients, it's basically a combination of ZMA/BCAA and some low-mild (though perhaps theoretical) HGH/T boosters with a basic sleep/relaxation formula. I enjoyed the 5-HTP that was thrown in.
- when I would sleep I would generally STAY asleep.
-sleep quality (though hard to gauge without a device that can read it like those FitBits) seemed deeper than usual and I had lucid dreams.
-with a full 8 hours I was NOT lethargic upon waking though that doesn't mean I wanted to get out of bed. I am NOT a morning person however so it's probably me.
Some "-" with Iron Dream:
- ingredients, like I said it's basically a ZMA/BCAA mix. I'm not exactly sold on ZMAs. I've taken them in the past and with the exception of some strange dreams I can't say I noticed any difference in recovery. Plus the supposed HGH/T booster is pretty basic and kind of unproven. Using ingredients like Fenugreek which have had mixed results on studies to say the least.
- this may just be me but it took around 30+ minutes sometime to kick in and other times it didn't really make me tired at all. Then again it only uses around 1.5mg of Melatonin I believe. It does help with getting your system ready for sleep rather than put you to sleep. Still...
- if I did get less than 8 hours of sleep I could be somewhat groggy. Not really a negative since everyone should expect that when taking something like this but it should be mentioned.
- have to cycle 5 days on 2 days off. I assume this is because of the Melatonin. I also noticed my body seemed to get used to this towards the end but once again that's probably just me. I have to change up my preworkouts and other supps constantly because after a couple weeks I'm use to the formula.
If I have some extra cash I think I'll pass on the Iron Dream and try the Chaos and Pain HYPNOS. That looks like a great blend and more my kind of supp. There's also Animal PM and MHP 5D-Tropin though I haven't tried either. I do see them at just about every supp store.
