Kat and Puccah's Strong is the new sexy log

You still walking?

Those are tough squats there, with any weight. Do about 10 minutes on the bike and see if that relieves the numbness.

Happy Friday! Got to sleep until 9 today! (Didn't mean to but man, did it feel good) I had a hard time getting mentally motivated for leg day since I just started walking normal yesterday! Lol

Took my PWO and it really helped get me focused! Once I got going, I was G2G.

Both outer quads feel numb as if they are asleep...so odd. Not really sure what causes that. Pinched nerve is my guess. Maybe some stretching/rolling?!

***On my last two sets of split squats, there was a female trainer beside me teaching a girl to lift a loaded bar from the safety bar of the squat rack bent over. Almost as if it was a reverse good morning. It was crazy! I actually talked to one trainer and the manager about it! I don't want anyone getting hurt! I wanted to ask that girl directly but didn't want disrespect the trainer in front of her client though.

Was she teaching squats or dead stop good mornings?

Thank you Brian! I'll try that! It feels really weird! Lol

She was doing the a superset of that and front squats...her approach could have been a dead stop good morning. The girl basically had to squat under the bar but her butt/back were level with the safety rack. The bar was on her back/traps and she stood up from there as if it was a good morning and then say it back down. She did 2-3 reps like that before they both picked the weight up and moved it to the rack to front squat. It was a rack like this with a stationary safety bar...Invalid Link Removed

I've seen some of the popular powerlifters do this, a GM from the rack. If you aren't overloading the bar and know how to GM properly I really don't see anything wrong with it.

Ahh ok good to know! That's what I had asked the trainer I talked to. Just to see if it was something I just hadn't seen before. She was a new lifter though - not a starter lift IMO.

Absolutely not. I'm not sure anything more than BW or light based GMs would be appropriate for a starter. Hitting a 2-3 rep max at a beginner is a little overboard.

Tanning up Puccah!

He was sweet last week when they were so tender and rubbed them for me. Don't know if I could pull off asking for another.... So, when does your flight arrive? I'll get sushi!

Wow, Kat....what a workout! I'd need a wheelchair after that.

Thank you! After last week, I was surprised I wasn't more tired! I actually did some weighted hip thrusts afterwards as well. Lol

I'll come help push you around !

Just keep an eye on his hands. lol

Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend! Ours was great! Think I finally got caught up on sleep! We even got to go see Jurassic World yesterday! It was really good!

Started using Jefit again today to log my workouts! We will see how long I stick to it! It should help me keep track of what weight I use from week to week instead of having to search back through. My paper gets ripped out of my notebooks so that never seemed to help! Lol

Went up on bench and rows today! Felt good!

Edit:
Forgot to say this morning, my work throws a party every year for the patients...tonight was this years party. We had it at the local ice skating rink/trampoline park! It was crazy but a blast!! We had between 7-800 people there at least. It's hard to tell with as big as the place is but it was crowded!! Lol I even got to spend the 1st hour in the tooth costume! Yes, I sweat like crazy in that thing! Lol Then, I got to take pics, skate, and jump! I even flew from a trapeze! (scared of heights)

I bet. I had a lady do a cow print cake for us for nuggets birthday. I'm sure it wasn't easy because we requested she not use fondant.

That's cool! I only use buttercream unless they request fondant and that's only for accent/detail work...I want my cakes to taste good! Lol Buttercream isn't too hard to work with- just a little more challenging when doing 3D objects and such.

Wow, that's a heckuva turnout. If my dentist threw a party I wouldn't go. lol

Haha ikr! We are an orthodontic office- way more fun than a dentist! Our patients seem to really enjoy it!

Look at that sweaty Betty right there! Looking good!

Hey guys and gals-
I need some new Muay Thai gloves but don't want to break the bank buying them. Can someone tell me of a good brand? I've been researching but I can't decide. I'm really leaning towards Venom because I like that they're tight and snug, as well as stiff (that just sounded so perverted).

I should add that I'll be training Muay Thai, Boxing, American Kickboxing, and maybe Jiu Jitsu (no gloves needed, lol).

Thank you! :D

Lol, silly boys! I won't fight for a while. I really like this gym. The teacher was pretty amazed at how strong I was.

It's funny how we try different things not realizing that they all kinda fall in line with each other. :)

Weight loss + lifting + powerlifting + Muay Thai + school = Ultimate Goal. :)
