FINA[be]FLEXing with Finaflex BCAA/SAA + CLA

kix, hope you do not mind a lil competition on your pic..just mauled this, ohhhh yummy
was actually ~725cals, and I forgot to mention the Ezekiel cinnamon raisin toast

man, that bowl of oatmeal is TO DIE for, i'm tellin ya!
should've used my bigger bowl tho, this one was pushing it

All good. I like to see how others are eating. Might pick up something new. :) And that bowl is overflowing with milk mostly. :p I like my oatmeal a tad less drenched. Haha.

He eats his oatmeal uncooked, like cereal, to preserve the crunch.
who does? not me man
that's old-fashioned oats, cooked

no it's not really - simply too much food for that lil bowl
(been using a bigger one but thought since I slimmed down the portion from 2c to 3/4c it would all fit..was wrong) :o
for the record:
3/4c oats (cooked!) :p
1 larger banana + 1/2c blueberries + (only) 2oz almond milk, just enough to give it good texture and not be dry
the almond butter is under that fruit & milk too ;)

Breakkie: Scrambled eggs with diced onions, peppers, broccoli cuts, deli chicken slices. Slices of avocado. Side of cucumber with red roasted pepper hummus, and a chocolate protein shake :)

Any good audiobook suggestions out there? Looking for motivational stuff, but open to anything that might be interesting to listen to on my walks. :) Onto the workout. My shoulders have finally started to feel a little better so I wanted to work on those today. My Push Press is sooo weak!! I push like a girl. That's never been a strong movement for me. On top of that, I smacked myself square in the nose on the 5th set like a goof! Didn't get my head out of the way fast enough. That wasn't fun either. But I shook it off and continued on because there's no crying in weight lifting. :) I have to say clean and jerks were really fun and also the best part of this workout. First time doing those and I will definitely be keeping them in my routine. Finished off with 6 ways and I always end up dripping in sweat after those. Popped 4 ALC+CLA today and will have my nightly BCAA in a bit!

Smackin the nose is no good! We all have those accidents at one point or another! If you like the movement though keep at it. Workout looked good!

Push press has some real Mechanics involved with timing of your push from the lower body and the upper body without overdoing it and ending up on your toes. Bend your knees settle in and drive from your heels allowing that inertia to trigger your push. It's not easy and I kind of suck at it too, but it's a good exercise. When you're struggling with a lift, lowering the weight and going over the basics is always a good idea. It's an explosive lift you just have to find a way to light the fuse.

I haven't done heavy push presses in a minute. Plan to keep at it :)

Great points all around. I think I was too focused on keeping my face out of the way and forgot to drive through my heels when it got heavy. Thanks for the reminder DW :)

np kix when I remind others it reminds me...us old fuggers always need reminding :) talking about me of course you look like you're quite young.

Kix, don't lead with your nose, the bar always wins!

Some people also dip to far into the push press as if it were a half squat. You only need to lower yourself enough to get an explosive thrust. Typically no more than 1/4 squat. If I were not dieting right now I might add these in with a nice negative. Love me some push press!

Yeah, so I'm pretty sure I won't be able to walk tomorrow after all those squats. Putting yesterday's carb up to good use! Front squats have helped me tremendously when I transition into back squats. It's a good reminder for me to keep my torso and chest more upright and not to cheat/good morning the weight up. Still not going super heavy on those but I can definitely feel where I've improved. Going to dose some ALC+CLA with my post wo shake now. Really proud of myself for finishing with lunges. I told myself I'd stop at 50, then just 10 more, until I hit 100. :)

Those extra reps are what separares us from the sissys Kix!

I think I need to drop the weight on sumo just a tad and focus more on my form. The 1st pull of every set feels easy but the reps following just feel off and like I am using too much of my lower back. I was interrupted halfway through my workout and when it was time for SLDL my hammies felt gassed out. Rest of the workout felt like I was just going through the motions. 4 ALC+CLA taken today and some cold BCAA's tonight. My hammies are going to be sore tomorrow.

Foooood!

Impressive deads, even if you do say your form was off you say. Just dial back and get a bunch of single or doubles in. You'll be pulling 2 plates before ya know it

annnnnnd now I'm making burritos tomorrow :D

Thanks! Never met a person that didn't like burritos! Yeah, I think I may have to dial back some. Progress might be slower that way but it'll be better for my form in the long run. I'm kind of stubborn so we'll see, lol. If I get 225 I'll get a video of that for sure!

I was going to do a circuit workout today but my back and hammies are way sore even after stretching and foam rolling. No bueno for lifting.

Opted for tennis instead, and shouting while hitting the ball, Serena Williams style. It probably helps. I'm more than halfway done with ALC+CLA pills. Still plenty of BCAA+saa since I only drink that on w/o days.

I miss tennis
please tho kix - do not compare yourself to serena..I absolutely cannot stand her, she has the poorest attitude on any player on tour, and is always hard-pressed to offer true sincere praise and be congratulatory when her opponent plays her well, or flat out beats her
funny - she always says HER game was off, while effectively slighting whoever she plays against
she has sickened me for a long time..

(and sometime, i'll tell you what I REALLY think about her! lol) :D

I get the sense that she's not your favorite player. :p All good. I'm a goof on the court anyway. :)

mmm that is one way of putting it..
i see you more like azarenka anyways!!!
nah - sharapova :p

funny tho, speaking of those two maria & serena..they always had feud, but it went all crazy intense earlier this yr when Williams said something off the wall in reference to maria, like days (a week even) after match, to the media..
pissed sharapova off so bad, she pulled Williams hole card, and said "she needs to worry about her husband catching her with the guy she's having affair with"
LMFAO! I guess it's well-know thing on tour if you are in the loop, but not general public knowledge, that Williams has long been known to sleep around the world
ahaaa, too funny
venus was a bit better, but still (oh venus where have you gone? sad that your health failed you)

Oh snap, crackle, pop. I did not know that Serena was married.

Pushed yesterday's workout to today. Wanted something easier on the legs (specifically hammies) and lower back, but still a full body workout. Rest day tomorrow! Going to have my post wo shake with ALC+CLA. BCAA/SAA has been treating me well with cardio and high volume workouts. This week I have been experiencing some DOMS a day or two after my heavy workouts, but that is taking into consideration that I have been hitting my legs harder than ever.

That was a very good circuit session. Not many people will do that on their own. Maybe with others in a bootcamp type of environment. You have your own type of motivation and that is something I hope you are proud of.

Exactly! We push ourselfs harder when we have watchful eyes abs extra motivation. For Kix to kick ass all on jet own.... that shows determination and guts. Great work my lady!

i like the fact that bcaa's REDUCE the pain, but to me i need to feel some pain to let me know i am hitting it hard enough.

lol...not being able to get down to the stool for a bm is the kind of pain i can do without in my advancing years.....

good work kix!!!!!

I'm always super careful to stretch out my hip flexors before any squat session and as such my warm ups are like mini workouts themselves. I ate ~50g of carbs pre-wo and it definitely made a difference in my workout today. Front squats and back squats felt much better. Foot placement was bang on just about every set and as a result I felt much stronger coming out of the hole. Only thing that did feel a bit off was my tibia on the right side of my leg. It would make a cracking noise on the descend for sets 130 and 150. Not painful at all but maybe you guys can provide some insight on that. I really was not expecting high numbers on back squats today and I think I had one more in the tank for my last set but it was a successful workout overall. There are still more workouts to be had. About to hit up that post wo shake with my 2 ALC+CLA. I'll also have some carbs as well with that shake. :)

Thank you for the kind words, Noosh! I do like to challenge myself on occasion. :)

Haha, well there are varying degrees of pain. After taking BCAA+SAA I am less sore the next day but that doesn't mean I didn't have an awesome workout. I am training my legs harder than ever so DOMS is inevitable. The soreness isn't as prominent (i.e. not being able to bend over to sit on the john). I still experience tightness in my quads and hammies some days so for that I set aside some time to foam roll on a daily basis. :)

I don't get why guys like to chase the pump so much?? It's kind of painful! About 3/4 of the way down with my bottle of ALC+CLA and I'm kind of sad about that! Going to stretch and fingers crossed my back is A-OK tomorrow because I'm planning to pull sumo. :fingersx::fingersx:
