hey guys, i've been out of the supplement game for a while. i just can't keep up with all the new stuff that's coming out, and as i grow older, i grow more leery of trying new stuff (i never really know what it is, nor do i know what kind of side effects it could present now or down the road).
i'm always having to watch my blood pressure, so preworkouts are something that kind of scare me, especially the "kitchen sink" formulas as i like to call them. i also tend to wonder if there are more to pwo's than is labeled and the whole energy drink label thing really got me worried about this, haha.
anyway, as a result, i've decided to try and do a "make it yourself" preworkout, so i know exactly what i'm getting. here are some ingredients i was considering, let me know if there's anything i should add/change.
1. caffeine - basic, tried and true. i'll probably mix about 100mg as my stim tolerance has gone way down since i cut back dramatically on pwo's.
2. forskolin - i've read that it can aid in fat loss and endurance. i've also read some studies that suggest it may have a beneficial effect on blood pressure. i figured i'd go with whatever the recommended dose on the bottle is.
3. agmatine - i love this stuff. it gives me great pumps and helps with blood pressure as well. 500mg seems to work for me, and is much more economic than 1g
4. citrulline - same as agmatine, but i think they compliment each other nicely. 3-5 grams mixed with 500mg agmatine gave me some good pumps last time i stacked the two.
5. lclt - another ingredient that i've heard helps with fat loss. i read a study recently that it can have a negative impact on cholesterol and/or hardening of the arteries, so i'll probably go with a fairly low dose.
6. bcaa - for flavor. probably one that is leucine-heavy.
any other suggestions?
