Tomhawk Is Eating His Cake And Having It Too (CBL)

gonna pick up some kimchi from the local asian market this evening I think. its time to try it

Should be able to find some there.

I live like 3 minutes away from an area often referred to as Little Vietnam, and we have a pretty good size Asian Market there. I need to get my arse over there and do a little shopping. Can anyone make any recommendations for other foods I may want to give a shot while I am in there? You know, stuff that is good but we just don't tend to find at an Asian buffet.

I like Sushi, wassabe, stir fry, all the typical Americanized Asian foods. I love chili sauce, saracha, most kinds of vegetables. SO any suggestions to expand my horizons with some more less known things would be great.

Probably be able to find it there. To be honest I dont eat too much Asian food. At least nothing all that special.

Looks like I am hitting legs solo tonight. Work out partner was talking about going at 845. Which is just too late for me. Trying to get back on a normal sleep schedule.
 
Ended up working out with my workout partner. Just took him a little while to get there. Made my first trip into a tanning bed. Ehh not sure if I will ever go back. It comes free with my gym membership though. I figure a little color wouldnt hurt.

Alright on to the workout.

Started off with some sumo deadlifts. Just warming up with 135. I got my fat gripz in today so used them. I cant wait to really test them out tomorrow for arms.

Did ELECT sets for squats and leg press. A little getting used to it. Should get easier with practice. Then did 405 for 2 on squats. Paused at the bottom so a little harder.

Then onto an ELECT set of seated leg curls. Beat the machine up pretty good. Then did stiff leg deadlifts. Only used 225 for 2 sets of 10 reps. Again tried out the fat gripz. Could only use them for 5 and 3 reps. Damn they make them tough.

Forgot to do leg ext earlier so snuck 2 sets of them into the workout.

Calf workout from hell basically if you want your calves to grow do this.
Seated calf raise 100 reps as few sets as possible. Pause at the bottom and really stretch the negative, and explode during the positive.
3 sets of 8 reps on leg press calf raise.
3 sets of 12 reps for tibilia(sp?) raise

This workout was more taxing then most. It is nice that it falls on a Friday. Tomorrow plan on doing core and arms as an extra workout. It will give me an excuse to eat carbs haha. Also plan on going shooting which is always fun.

Food intake is a bit rough. Just harder than I expected it to be. Gas is pretty bad at times not going to lie. So far had 2 bowls of chicken and cabbage(as seen previously), 2 bananas, 12oz chocolate milk, 1 apple turnover, and 2 bowls of ice cream. My rough guess would only be about 400 grams of carbs again. Thinking I might call it a night on carbs. Later just have a little cottage cheese and some protein powder thrown in.
 
Just got in from working out. Did core and arms. Used the same core workout as Wednesday. Then did the fat gripz suggested workout. Wasn't too bad I guess. Had a great pump going.

Also had a lot of fun at the range. Finally shot a 1911(rented). Fun gun to shoot minus the jams, but easy to fix. Did pretty well with some old iron sights.

Going to kill some more food tonight. Hit up the dessert isle at Kroger after shooting. Plus cooking some beef, onion, and pepper over some Jasmine rice of course.
 
Sounds like you are killing this diet so far man. Curious to see what the next few weeks bring.

Ya it honestly hasnt been all that hard to follow. So far results are good. Yesterday wasnt too much fun though. I didnt lift so I just ate ultra low carb all day. To add on top of that I think I have some teeth issue. Not exactly sure whats up but last night it was hurting. Wasnt able to sleep much. Thinking there is a chance it is wisdom teeth. For added fun I got SUPER sun burned on my arms. Hasnt really bothered me but just added bonus. Went to an air show so at least I had fun.

Ya going to try and see the dentist soon. Right now it isnt really bothering me. At night it seems to rear it UGLY head. The sun burn really isnt bad at all. Been applying a lot of lotion would be nice if it had aloe but should be getting some of that some time today.

Low carb can be quite tasty. I have some pot roast for today. Was pretty painful trying to chew it last night haha.

I already subbed for both and I suggest others follow along. It looks like it should be a hell of a contest.

As for the air show I tried to make sure to take plenty of pictures and what not. Might post some of those.
 
Air shows are pretty cool we have one that we can see from our back yard. We sometimes bbq and go up on the roof to watch it.

That is pretty cool. Apparently Saturday was the day it was super packed. Sunday wasnt too bad considering how bad it could have been.

No I just have the kind of body that looks good in clothes.

I ended up taking today off. Going to the dentist tomorrow morning to figure out what's going on. Probably hit back tomorrow. Today would have been shoulders and triceps. I figure an extra rest day wont kill me. But depending on the prognosis I might do shoulders and triceps tomorrow. Then back on tomorrow and skip core till Saturday. It really depends on what is going on. It isn't bothering me too bad right now but I took Advil. It seems to get much worse at night.
 
I struggle with tooth eyes all the damn time man, I feel for you big time! IMO there is no pain that compares. I've literally stayed up nights on WMD with pulsing pain in my mouth. Hope you get it taken care of man!

I honestly felt like a little bish. Couldnt do anything to make it go away. So frustrating not being able to subdue it. What is WMD? I hope so too
 
Ambesol! It's not just for babies... Go pick some up and rub it on your gums near the tooth and it will numb it to give you some relief.

Ya the dentist suggested Glyoxide but apparently it is discontinued. So I am getting Ambesol. Couldnt sleep last night so I basically crashed when I got home from the dentist at 9am. Sleep schedule is pretty screwed so I might just take today off from the gym and hope to get back on schedule. I elevated my pillow so the inflammation wont be as bad.

I go see an oral surgeon on Thursday. Hoping this is done soon.

Dang my bad. I thought I said it was my wisdom teeth. They told me about it before but now is the first time there has been any pain. What is basically happening is when I lay down all the fluid goes to my head. Which is causing inflammation around my tooth making it hurt. Right now it isnt bothering me.
 
Oh man that sucks. You may have mentioned it, lots of conversation in here. Wouldn't be unheard of to miss something.

I mentioned that I thought it might be my wisdom teeth but never confirmed it.

naw man, its not lol diet will be screwed. just go ahead hire a maid for her to make all your meals into slush and drink it through a straw without sucking to hard so you dont get dry sockets.... gargle the salt water and drink plenty of water, but take some pain meds and enjoy yourself as much as possible. sry im working this week and cant help yah out on the video games.... ha.... you probably would die to much anyway ;)

I will try and make it work though. My senior year of high school I tore ligaments in my ankle. I am not sure how long afterwards, but I was back in the gym still on crutches haha. What made it more funny was my workout partner had broken his leg. We MURDERED our upper bodies.

I actually found the glyoxide the dentist suggested. Lucked out when I asked someone at the pharmacy. No one seemed to know what I was talking about. She remembered about it because she has a tongue ring haha. I wont be having surgery just yet. Thursday I go to the oral surgeon for a consultation in the afternoon. So more than likely I will be lucky to have this done by next week.

Hoping to get back in the weight room tomorrow. Last 2 days I have been eating like I have been lifting. NOT a good thing to do haha.

Thanks for the suggestion Kleen. The stuff seems to help numb it. Doesnt last too long but should help when I try and sleep. Like I said it is the worst when I lay down.
 
IMO, the worst pain is a tooth hurting. I've dealt with a lot of that in the past. If not for pain meds and antibiotics, I would have beaten my head off to make the pain stop.

I know exactly what your saying. I used to punch my pillow in frustration because I couldn't sleep.

This is exactly how I felt the other night. It is so frustrating being at the mercy of teeth. I can't wait for it to be over.
 
Yeah trust me I have had a few times I was close to just going after a tooth with some vice grips. Would have rather just dealt with the pain in the gums than the nerve in the tooth sending pain unabated to directly to the brain.

Although I have to say that the recovery from my first shoulder surgery made a bad toothache feel like an orgasm. I honestly sobbed that uncontrollable type full body crying like when someone dies. I have never had pain make me cry like that only emotional loss.
 
Alright I finally stopped being a little bish and went and lifted today. It is feeling much better after using the Glyoxide. The stuff Kleen suggested helps at night when I lay down to sleep. Which is when the pain is worst.

I ended up doing back and then decided to do core too.

Didnt write down the numbers just went off of feel and how I did the week before. Tested out the fat gripz so had to mess with the weights a bit. Forearms got pumped up and back still got worked. Deadlifts were a bit of a fail to be honest. Low back got real sore having to change the weights so quickly. Didnt go for a heavy set.

Tomorrow I go see the surgeon to hopefully set up a date for surgery.

Honestly the workout doesn't leave me too drained. Obviously it is working though.

Idk anyone else was using this on this forum. Might have to check it out. I can see big changes in the mirror.
 
Also want to say the flat DB press wasn't too effected by fat gripz. Used 10 less pounds each hand and got the same amount of reps. It was extremely awkward though. Obviously pulling movements were more effected. Still got decent amount of weight on pulldowns and high wide pulley rows but grip was the limiting factor.
 
I went to the surgeon today. Wait was a pain, but good ole AM kept me occupied. The dr didnt really tell me anything I didnt know. Set up the surgery for this upcoming Tuesday. Which honestly isnt soon enough for me. I plan on hitting the gym everyday till Monday. This will only be 6 days in a row Wednesday-Monday. So I figure it wont kill me. I am hoping I wont have to take too much time off from the gym, but I have to be realistic about how much this surgery and recovery is going to suck.

Today I used the fat gripz on most things.

ELECT sets on Incline BB and Decline BB were barely below last week if not the same. Not too bad considering I used fat gripz.

DB pullovers were nothing special. Got a nice stretch basically.

Did 295 for 2 reps on flat BB. This was done as pause press. Much harder to do if you ask me. Didnt use the fat gripz.

Fat gripz made lat pulldowns much harder. Plus a little more difficult for ELECT BB curls.

ELECT close grip chins were much improved. Really got nice explosive reps. Plus finished with 9 regular reps that were REALLY felt. The reps were you FEEL the muscles FIRING in your back.

Of course hammer curls with fat gripz were hard haha. Tricep rope ext werent made much harder but triceps felt great.

I will take a pic in a little bit. Basically turn everything into thick bars. It is pure fudge. Straight up sugar haha.

Time to post about my workout a little bit.

Friday I did legs by myself. Took a little longer than I would have liked. Had to wait on the only squat rack. ELECT squats and leg press felt a little more natural. I think lying leg curls work better than seated for ELECT sets. My calves feel very sore today. After I did legs I decided to do core.

Today did shoulders and triceps with Mario. He had pictures to go take so we were pressed for time. Still got in a dang good workout.

Put up much more weight on ELECT shoulder press and finished with regular reps. ELECT upright rows were done with proper weight jumps then finished with regular reps. Did 215 for 2 reps on push press. More than anything it was just awkward to do. Dont really do them, but seems like I can do more. Used better weights for ELECT floor press and went heavier. Did weighted dips with 45 pounds for 10 reps. Not pushing it too quickly, but it felt solid enough to make an increase. Finished with some DB preacher curls.

2 awesome carb meals and now I am going to have some cottage cheese with a little protein and some almonds.

Got some postive comments about the choppa pic from the air show. I swear it seems like I am making progress daily at the very least weekly. This diet/workout combo on cycle would be insane.

I posted about my chest workout last night. The big thing was almost getting 315 for 2 pause press reps. Not quite able to finish them. At least my work out partner had his hands near the bar. Also went a little crazy since it was my last workout for about a week. Threw in core at the end.

Surgery seemed to go well. My mouth is all swelled up. It doesnt hurt except for having the gauze. Pain meds are not miracle workers. I havent really slept that much considering how many pain pills I have popped.

Ya the blood seems to be drying up. Less pain when I keep pressure on the gauze. Ya tv, movies, and video games will be my friends haha. Watching the movie Haywire now. The one with the hot female mma fighter Gina C something.

I definitely could use some time off. Haven't really had a deload week since starting back about 9 weeks ago. Plus we were doing HIT which was very taxing.
 
I am slowly getting better but dont want to push it too quickly. Looking like I might take a little more time off than I expected. No what I wanted, but no point in returning early if I am just going to delay the come back.

So far diet hasnt been too hard. I have just been doing ultra low carb. Food selection has been pretty bland but I can deal with it.

Here is a list of the things I have ate:
chicken broth with olive oil and pepper
cottage cheese with protein
greek yogurt with protein and heavy whipping cream
eggs and cheese
protein shake(been using a blender)

That is literally all I have had haha. Tonight though I am having some Chinese food :D It will be bean curd. Basically it is tofu, ground pork, and broth. Of course it will be over some jasmine rice. Will be my only carbs until I am back lifting. I figure one awesome meal wont mess me up too bad.
 
No yu should be good to go, you already know your carb number so this is just keeping insulin sensitivity peaked.
