What sups you used to take religiously ...

..then you stopped and noticed no difference?

I recently cleaned out old bottles and half-way-thru forgotten sups,
and I realized I still have half Kg of creapure that has been sitting there
for month, I use to take it religiously, first 6gr a day, then 3gr, then I started
to forget to take it (mostly because it was always present in the prewo of the month)
up until I haven't been taking it at all for months now.
Yes there's 1gr in my prewo but that's about it..
Also beta alanine, i use to take it 6.4gr everyday, started to forget,
I realized I take it 3gr whenever i remember to..

In both cases noticed NO difference

I also used to take CLA, again, everyday, for years, stopped, no difference.
Multivitamin. I use to take double dose of already high dosed multi,
now I take a coupla tabs of a generic (still bb oriented) multi, no difference

What about you guys?

CLA and cissus.
Fish oil wipes these 2 off the table

BCAA - I've used PPs IBCAA, Xtend and Purple Wraath during cuts. I was unable to afford them during my last cut and didn't notice any difference in muscle retention between using BCAAs and not using them.

Beta Alanine - I took around 3-4g per day for 3 months and then stopped 2 months ago and haven't noticed any difference in my higher rep exercises or cardio.

Multi-vit - I've taken a generic multi vit for the last few years but decided to stop a couple of months ago. Again, no difference.

COQ-10 - I was hoping this would lower my bp slightly but after 4 months there was no change so this was dropped.

Currently I've got my staples down to vit C, vit D, fish oil and White Flood for pre-workout. I may even drop the vit C during the Summer and only take it from Oct - Apr time.

Multi vitamin
CLA
Creatine (Gonna give MCC a chance though)
Though I feel things like CoQ10 and vit D arent really "felt" unless we are seriously deficient. I tend to rotate those in and out depending on funds hehe.

I think BCAAs are only really needed if you are under your protein count for the day or you are fasting. But thats just IMO. I noticed when I would do 20hr fasts. Pulsing 3g of BCAA every 4hrs or so versus none REALLY made a difference.

Look into a food based multi vitamin. Megafoods makes a really good one and is known to have great quality control, and unique process for extraction

I also stopped CLA after not noticing any difference

Fish oil, please reconsider if you are taking generic brands, I recommend Minami or Nordic naturals

ALA
Coq10
pynogenol
tumeric
ginger

^ That's actually why I dropped CoQ10. I'm all for overall health benefits but not when it strains the wallet that hard. After all, I can get 100 days' worth of 500mg vit C and 5k IU vit D from Wegman's for 10 bucks.

Sorry I didn't read the entire op. I just posted what i take religiously for personal health. It is funny to see people posting multi vitamins, the 'difference" is something very long term IMO. I think the expectations some have may be in comparison to workout shops which are much different

Whenever I quit taking creatine I do not notice a difference. However, I always hear everybody talking about all the 'proven science' of creatine and end up buying more of it to give it another chance.

this opens the doors to a lot of jokes, but im going to keep it clean.

with vitamins, i've only noticed a difference when I bought some all natural vitamins, that were in capsules, and contained pro biotics, I bought them as whole foods. good stuff, but expensive. 30 bucks.

i am runnin a stack of products from sns right now, and I def notice an enhance in performance.

will I notice a change post stack? maybe, maybe not, it'll depend on how much i've gained while using it.

im going to try sns mcc vs mono and after that prolly dropping creatine all together....been using now adam vs pro32x and notice zero difference even when i dont take it, after a few planned cycles ive got coming im dropping supps besides a pwo for awhile..

Just because you don't feel any difference doesn't mean the supplement your taking isn't working. If I based all the supplements I take on "feel" the only thing I'd take is a pre-workout.

If I can't notice any improvements from a product, why would I keep taking it?

Because you can't notice the difference in the amount of oxidation on your cells until after you have cancer or they have affected you so adversely that you can't deny it. A lot of HEALTH supplementation is preventative and not reactionary.

That's a different matter, which I did not think we were talking about.

If you arent healthy, you arent going to gain muscle optimally

Yes, but something preventative shouldn't even be apart of this discussion. Unless you develop whatever you're preventing after you start taking it, it is technically working for you.

I used to take some cake. Felt better when I was off of it.

But seriously. I bought some tribulas. Didnt notice anything.

Interesting, it seems CLA, beta ala and creatine are common.. and CoQ10 which i've never taken

I was referring to bb-oriented sups more than health oriented ones, exactly because
I think it's easier to spot whether or not there's a change with them, whether is performance (creatine, beta ala, etc..)
or body comp (CLA, etc..). Especially for someone like me, that changes (if) one thing at the time,
totally OCD about diet and training, it's fairly easy to spot if something works or not.

As for vitamins//health sups, I agree, being preventive and not reactionary makes it pretty much
impossible to evaluate

Glutamine haha I notice no difference whatsoever. I used to have myself convinced when I did take it. Silly silly.

Eh.
I don't agree, sure would be nice to be a pile of muscles shredded to hell AND be healthy at the same
time, but those two things don't always (almost never?) go together.
Human body is not meant to be that way, hardcore training and dieting are not good for our health,
overtime the stress we put our bodies thru ends up to somehow wear us out, joints, hormone balance,
injuries, etc..
Sure it all depends on the intensity, probably the average fitness routine can actually improve health,
but hardcore bb not so much. And I'm talking about natural, if we take into account Phs, AAS, etc.. that's
even worse.

I actually like taking my beta alanine. I love me them BA tingles. I believe Mr. Cooper said it takes a few months to get the carnosine levels up.

I've been taking beta ala for years, and I was swearing by it, I also love the tingles as well
then i started not taking the prewo dose and kinda forgot about it.. noticed no difference in performance,
my guess is because the leucine which i started to use pretty much around the same time i stopped beta ala
Assuming there was a decrease in recovery/endurance without beta ala, leucine in that field took care of it big time

Creatine is what bugs me tho', granted that i still get 1gr with the prewo.. but still don't feel anything without
the other 5gr that I was taking before

Been off all BB supps for almost two months and actually look and feel better..... Just sayin... Bank account has made great progress!

Are you a meat eater? You are probably still saturated.1 g pre wo plus 2-3g from food and all.

I was always such a great responder to creatine. I used to train with Vaughntrue back in the day and it was always the same routine. Creatine and pop tarts post workout :)

Haha I was 17 my man! "draws penis in permanent marker on palm, shoves palm back" Rude!

The only time I like taking gluts mine is after hockey. I feel I'm not sore in the AM after. I used to take a regular G N C multi religiously and then I went I animal pak and its like night and day. I feel a lot healthier on it. Creatine mono is deff the supp though. Every time i take it I wonder why I do then it sits in my cupboard and gets clumpy then I throw it out.

I haven't really noticed much from creatine. It used to seem like it made a difference...maybe the low saturation levels are met through meats? I dunno.

Didn't notice much with beta alanine, but feel like I should give it another go. Probably caps this time.

I can't really judge health supps this way.

I can see this being the case with the meat situation if you are ingesting a lot of it. Beta alanine, imho, is eh. I never really noticed a major change in performance. If I had the money I would most likely purchase it. I would rather buy extra agmatine and some thermos before I did BA.

Yea I here ya on buying extra stuff that works. Can never have too much agmatine IMO.

I wish agmatine worked for me as well, the only thing it did for was put me to sleep :/

I need to learn more about this, but it is kinda crazy how it works so well in some, not in others, and has an extremely short half life; plus I seem to read possibilities at new dosing protocols everyday. Which did you try?

Never heard this! Was the opp. for me! I get crazy energy from it!
