I just got some agmatine &i'm amazed @ the pump I get w/ 1gram pre workout. Best yet for me.

Def good stuff .. I take 500mg in morning and then 750mg before workout .. but if I was to just dose it one time .. I'd do 1g too .. Love the stuff
Like any other supplement would you say agmantine needs to be cycled or could you stay on it year round?

Yup cycle it just like other supplements .. I usually run it for 8weeks and then I'll do a creatine cycle of my choice then jump back to it.

Yok3d, eh didn't notice too much from it.
To get the best results from agmatine should you dose 2/2 in the AM & PWO? should you does every day 2/2?
All 4 in the AM? Only on work-Out days?

I spread them out .. 2waking up and 3caps -45mins prior to workout

I just placed and order for some PrimaForce agmatine. It'll be a bit before I use it (have logs).
Sorry HXC that bulk powder was cheaper $$.

It's all good .. Bulk will always be cheaper then capped products lol

Good luck on the run and def would be nice to read a review
I think you'll like it

I wanna gain that extra fake inch on my exercised parts that day lol.

But yeah, hopefully it's a good product. Wanted to go with the caps but it was too expensive. Hopefully the powder you get the same results and hopefully 750mg is good but may try 1mg.

Haha it's a lot more than that. The effects on nutrient partitioning and body composition are real, not to mention neural health.

I'm aware. I'm looking forward to that as well, but the pump even cosmetic is what I'm after with this hell it was $16, and I know it's not majorly important but I haven't had a GREAT pump in a while. Decent ones but not great.
I'll see what it brings :)

how quickly can one see benefits from typical agmatine dosing? a day? days? a week?

whats the dosing protocol most seem to prefer?

You can see some benefits after you first dose and workout. Some people like splitting the dose up to morning and half pre, but I like doing one full dose about 30-45 minutes before my workout on an empty stomach.

Are u talking 750mg or 1g?

1g before workouts, 1g before bed on off days.

it took me about 5-6 days to notice pumps abnormal from usual routine. i agree on dosing pre-wo

Is preworkout dosing the only time that will exhibit pumps or if dosed in the morning will this induce a perpetual pump???

Ive noticed that nothing really gives a "perpetual pump" (with few exceptions to some DS/PH) unless that muscle group was worked the night/day before and there is a pump/soreness of sorts...

How would you guys describe this pump? activity dependent? perpetual? any benefits from more then 1g/day dosing?

I did not get all day pumps on agmatine like others have experienced, but i did feel increased soreness after workouts and next day doms. You'll notice a difference, trust me

For me it's activity dependent. I feel it when a particular muscle group is active for some period of time. hypertrophy, super sets, and compound sets are excellent for inducing crazy pumps. I notice that they do last longer but definitely not all day for me. It's nothing like the painful ph (back/calf) pumps.

Thanks for all the replies fellas... Im sold... now if I could only get my hands on some so I could log it after this beta run...

This stuff does sound interesting. Sounds like there might be more benefits than just a pump. I just read through the SNS write up at Nutraplanet. One thing concerns me I will cut and paste it,

"Improved Insulin Response – Agmatine may help improve insulin response through enhanced insulin production, which can lead to positive benefits for those looking to improve body composition. Improved insulin response is thought of in bodybuilding circles as a key to a leaner, harder, more muscular body."

Not sure what they mean by "enhanced insulin production". I definitely don't want to raise insulin especially on the Metabolic Diet. Well during the carb up phase yes, but during the lower carb phase I want to keep insulin low.

Yes.

Let me find dinoii's powerpoint real quick. Trust me the benefits are positive. Not to mention improved muscle insulin sensitivity.

Its in the ask Dr houser forum forum in a thread started by BBB... very informative on the complete benefits....

Uh yup

That agmatine does make for some hefty BMs :/

Sounds good, also good that you only need 1 gram per day. That makes it reasonably priced. Anything more than that would be borderline expensive for me.

Yeah $20 for 30 grams is ok.
It's a cool new supplement.

Oh yum, I've never tried agmatine in Blueberry Muffins before, great idea! :D

lol :)

Why not stack them :D would be a massive pump. Agmatine and arginine nitrate mmmm.

done did that. I was not impressed with YOLK3D Our Arginine Complex and Agamtine worked better. I mean you can call me bias but anyone that knows me well knows I don't give crap feedback.

I believe ya my man. It was a good thought though.

According to Dinoiii, who has researched agmatine extensively, the bioavailabilty has yet to be determined.

Right, and yet nearly all anecdotal evidence favors agmatine. Further, dinoii formulated MAN Blueprint which included agmatine so obviously he believes it is bioavailable enough at 1g orally.

Well yes and no. Below is a quote from the Doc himself.

"You know, when I worked intermittently on projects for MAN, Joey Rodriguez (company owner at the time) said he intended to make a product centered on the ingredient Agmatine (a polyamine by-product of arginine metabolism), but he alongside many before him had no idea how the hell to market it or whether or not there was any validity. With a lot of discussion with the guys from the original research teams, we just had no idea what level of oral bioavailability would exist - and we STILL DON'T, so it is very likely that 100% of products on the market containing this ingredient are GROSSLY underdosed. I have done many experiments with people taking in up to 5 grams per day, with some suggested benefits - one in particular is the glucose disposable power which made R-ALA a natural combination for the original product launch of Blue Print back in late 2006 / early 2007. For the average 70kg man, an effective dose seemed to be around 1000mg (hence the original dosing we used that kind of started where people were using it in their formulas)...although one has to TRULY know how to best employ GDA supplements to actually see ergogenic benefit - the same can just as easily be suggested for pro-testosterone agents, and how any (if any at all) of these agents would either impact aesthetics or athletics. That said, the average bodybuilder is NOT 70kg and likely requires much more than this dose unfortunately (at the time it was very expensive to source the ingredient as we were the first to market with it, but since the price has dropped dramatically), but still - he too would have to best understand how to employ it in a body composition effort. It's not always the easiest to do".

Yes, but there are also risks for taking doses like 5g and I would not recommend that to anyone. I wouldn't exceed 2g/day personally. As far as pumps/endurance go, 1g seems to do the trick for me at 200 lbs. The glucose disposal effects are a different story and I don't doubt that I may need 1.5g to elicit the full benefits of that.

I would be curious to try Agmatine on it's own.

I used Hemavol powder which contains 500mg per serving and while it gave a good pump I think it is expensive in comparison to some other formulas that come with a stimulant complex as well.

Agmatine+Yohimbe

i just have to say, im pretty happy with 500mg 2 times per day, but of course i'd like to see what MOAR! could bring. though, i know there is a possibility it wouldn't bring anything.

This is just incorrect, everyone in the industry knows more of anything is always better. As Ron Burgundy would say, "it is science!" :)

I have tried Agmatine by SNS 500mg prior to working out and this stuff puts me in a really bad frigging mood for about 2 days. Yes its really bad. I have read that its supposed to put you in a good mood but I respond exactly the opposite.
