HCG Complete....

Admin said:
Thats your interpretation...I think anyone with an ounce of common sense knows its not real HCG. You would have to be a real idiot....if you see HCG in the title and recognize it, you already know what HCG is anyway...therefore you know its NOT the real stuff. How stupid would you be if you knew what HCG was then thought THAT was real HCG....

That's not entirely true... I would say the majority of people looking for weight loss products are unaware that it isn't real hcg. I have ran into countless people who tell me theyre taking hcg and when I tell them its not hcg they look like I just killed their puppy. How much of the population do you think is smart enough or not too lazy and fat to research before they buy??? Honestly? You know as well as I do that we are the minority (people who read before they buy).

Bottom line its pretty misleading. Who asked me? No one. I'm just saying.

Ask RPN.

Checkmate.

Refresh me please.....before you checkmate on an arguement that is opinion anyway...

If it makes you feel any better to think you won...then I conceed you won....about what, I'm not sure..but maybe you will happy instead of mad at someones marketing...

Yeah, you said that last page.

I would surely hope you would know the back story on a former site sponsor (that is no longer around anymore). If you missed that story (and the lawsuit), I would refer you to google (just like these reps are doing about their products).

Quick summary: Customer didn't research, acquired liver failure, sued RPN, no more RPN.

Sorry, I don't remember every detail about every company. Maybe you can PM Matt and ask him to comment and see if he agrees with your summary.

Please refresh on how this applies to this so I know how you checkmated me....LOL

So they are morally obligated for fear of a lawsuit? Thats your checkmate?!?!

Refer to my post #52. You are quoted.

Also, you might add legally (as well as morally).

I have...and I would love for you to explain it to us all....

They are morally obligated because of a fear of a lawsuit?

Most are..its called insurance. Thats why I said morally....I'm still trying to figure out how they are morally olbigated.

Really? What product are they taking that they think is HCG? I'm real curious....

So a company is supposed to be morally obligated to those not smart enough or too lazy to research because...?????

Have you ever went inside of a GNC, Vitamin Shoppe etc...? All of them say HCG.

I'm not saying either way what a company needs to do. Profit is the number one concern. A company with morals is a mystery to me - never seen one. All I was saying is, its misleading and everyone knows it is. Partially the reason the fda is so close to annihilating the supplement industry.

my 2 cents...

in my PERSONAL OPINION (must clarify this) and not necessarily ANYONE ELSES.

Any company that markets a product with a DIRECT (not a variation) of a name that has nothing to do with that loses my respect (aka money).

Example: HCG Complete... cmon - dont use HCG if there is no freakin HCG in it.
Novadex - DONT CARE - they are NOT calling it NOLVADEX.... sure are they 'hinting' yes - are they blatantly full of ****? no not really.

not picking on LG as their are many other products like this... none of which I purchase or will purchase. And yes, I am versed in marketing but again, I'll take marketing that directly reflects a product.

I liked the hybrid reference earlier... like My Ford v8 super hybrid model that has nothing hybrid about it!! Who would buy it? only an idiot. so who (again in my opinion) would by a product called HCG somethingorother that has NO HCG in it? only an idiot.

The title and name of supplement has zero to do with why the FDA is doing what its doing....

I just find is so funny that people get in such a huff about a friggin name......people get offended by a name!!!

If an OTC supplement came out and was proven to put on 5lbs of muscle in a week and it was named Testosterone, you would buy it and wouldn't give 2 ****s what its called....

For some reason, you guys take marketing as a personal insult....which is ridiculous.

Maybe have a beer...or get laid...or something.

So we should all cater to our least denominator?

Bottom line is it isn't the responsibility of a company to account for the "uneducated, lazy, ignorant, moronic, etc" of their demographic. As a consumer it is your responsibility to research what you are putting into your body. Maybe we should stop producing prohormones because SOME people aren't aware of PCT and won't include one? Might as well right? Just because someone is stupid enough to believe the product contains actual HCG and is too lazy to read the ingredient label and use google is no fault of the company but the consumer. Companies sell to grown adults, not children. In this day and age with all the information available online that are only clicks away, there is NO EXCUSE for someone to not know why they are taking.

This is the supplement game gentlemen. This kind of marketing tactic is not new and is being used by hundreds of companies. If you aren't going to take the initiative to research what you are putting into your body and are expecting supplement companies to hold your hand, then maybe it is time for a new hobby

Agreed. People should research! Absolutely, but then youre talking about Americans. Think about that for a minute... Americans, that eat Mcdonalds everyday, overweight, unhealthy Americans.

So because its being done this way and has been for so long in the past makes it right? Thats kind of a stretch. You know as well as I do they shouldn't be putting on bottles what they do. "Gain 8lbs of muscle in 14 days!!!"

We're saying the same thing from different sides of the fence. People should research but then again a lot of people do not understand how shady the supplement industry is either, so they trust them. Ignorant on their part? Hell yes!!! Shady on the industry's part? Obviously.

I don't care either way I'm bored at work and this was an interesting debate. I still think it's misleading. Everyone knows it's misleading but thats how it's done.

As I said before, if a supp came out and was proven to get results, you people would buy it no matter what the name was.

Peoples morals and ethics only go so far.....on both sides.

Almost all marketing is misleading to a point...

Results is results for sure! But... Wouldn't it be a beautiful world if we didn't have to sift through the bs and supplements had to do what they claimed?! And my girlfriend wasn't menstruating?! Yes!!!

Yea in hindsight I guess that last parts just for me...

Is the name misleading? Yes
Does the name lead to more sales because it is misleading? Yes
Are they wrong? Yes and No

Wrong because they are clearly making it seem like the product is real HCG, not wrong because buyers should be informed and do research before they make a purchase. They are basically just preying on dumbasses to buy the product thinking it is real HCG. Is it wrong to prey on dumbasses? Personal opinion I guess.

"Let the buyer beware..."

I agree with bikeswimlive on this issue. I think supplement companies should be legally and morally responsible to their customers. This style of marketing will eventually give the government all the ammunition it needs to take over the supplement market. Bottom line, I just don't purchase products from supplement suppliers that I believe are shady or deliberately deceitful and I can name several.

Really? So who is the moral judge for everyone? You?

Legally they already are.

Interesting with your post count i see you have used supplements from companies that definetly had marketing and quality issues in the past.

This has absolutely ZERO to do with the governments interest in taking over the supplement game. You really think congress feels bad for consumers so is gonna take over to protect us? LMAO!! There are millions of dollars in this industry and pharma wants to get involved and have the ability to overcharge for naturally occurring ingredients. That is why the supplement game is being scrutinized not because of the names of supplements.

If you don't want go buy from companies that you feel are morally irresponsible than don't. It's a free market and this is the basis of it. Don't like something than don't support something. If enough people feel the same as you and don't support them then eventually it will change. Problem is that this is generally accepted and people will buy just about anything for the promise of gains or fat loss and companies will always take advantage of their naivety. Don't like it? Then don't support them by not buying their products. Simple as that. The company has every right though to market their product whichever way they want as long as it abides by the current legal regulations. If you want to start regulating these supplement companies even more, well that is a slippery slope and will actually lead to the end of the mom and pop supplement companies and open the door to Astra Zenica selling $100 bottles of fish oil.

In other words stop bitching, you aren't accomplishing anything.

It's kind of disappointing that some supp company reps are taking the approach of "we'll market any f*ckin way we want, its on you to do your homework, if we can fool some people into buying it , go us!, sucker born every minute, f*ck you ya dumb ass consumer we have your money now - quit crying about it!"

I realize its you can market however you want within the legal guidelines... doesnt mean you should.

This has absolutely ZERO to do with the governments interest in taking over the supplement game.

It actually has more to do with companies selling steroids openly to those whose who support and buy them....you know, users like BBB. Or people who buy and support research companies which basically have ZERO quality control...you know, users like BBB.

If you want to point the finger at others, better look in the mirror first before you pass judgement on others about what is morally acceptable.

I don't recall a rep saying anything like that.

Its a ****in name......that some people's panties are in a bunch over...

Yet some of these same people have no problem supporting companies that are literally breaking the law with what they are selling.

Morals and ethics my ass....

Actually I disagree with you on this one. Yes the governments ultimate motive is to gain control of the market and with it the money. Government is one of the biggest industrys there is, however, they will not come out and directly tell the American people we're shutting this **** down so we and our rx company partners can make money. What the government is doing right now is making it a war against supps from which we can't protect ourselves and they'll win due to ignorant consumers, false claims, illegal ingredients etc. Read about it they are using that as the excuse and shady supplement companies gave them the fuel for the fire theres no denying that.

All getting worked up does is cloud clear headed rational thinking. Take a few deep breaths. There is no way to support false claims and shady companies. Will we continue to use them? Obviously but if your girlfriend lies to you on a consistent basis would your defense be "its cool bro she lies all the time."??? F no!!

It amazes me how some folks get peeved about the name of a product, but never call out the companies doing the real bs marketing.

lmao

for example:

Average protein company ad: "Get ready for the most AMAZING protein this world has ever seen!! With isotopic laser based technology, we can simply put, supply you with the PUREST of proteins!!! Don't buy other whey protein blends that have regular basic cheap whey manufactured with all kinds of harmful minerals and metals. Get the GOOD STUFF. And with an enhanced space shuttling delivery method you can make SURE your body is getting ALL the whey protein it needs. Get yours today!!!"

^

The really dumb people don't even read the description...they just see HCG Complete and whip the credit card out.....its that easy...you can all be super rich this way.

There was an eye opening thread on PHF with PA and Taurus about their product. They definitely abide by the sucker born every minute theory.

Nope I sure do not. If I lie all the time? What have I lied about? Because I said we'd obviously buy them? I never said I wouldn't. I was pointing out that just because thats the norm doesn't make it right.

Dude...it's an analogy.

Example: A hypocrite complaining about someone elses hypocrisy.

So now you admit it is indeed, hypocrisy?

That people like you selectively complain? Yeah.

But considering my analogy was just a response to someone else's post and not meant literally, it really isnt relative.

You still mad?

Right, I understand that. I just dont understand how I'm a hypocrite.

You don't have to agree with me or others but to make a personal attack based on the fact that somone doesn't agree with your point of view? Immaturity abounds. This is the very reason I don't post on BB.com anymore.

Where is the personal attack? I'm pointing out facts. Within your post count i find the support of companies that are FAR more detrimenal to the industry than LG and their name of a product, yet you spend your money on them with no problem. Im not saying you are right or wrong or morally bankrupt like some of the people claim abot LG....

You want honesty and thats honest. If you can't be honest to yourself and admit we are all hypocritial at times, not sure what to tell you.
