You know I am very torn on this. I loved the Conan movies but to be honest it was Conan's physique that has me so enthralled. I am sure this movie will have a better story line and dialogue since the star can speak English well enough to be understood. Conan had to be relatively silent because Arnold's accent was too thick to have much conversation but for the character specifically the strong silent type fit the bill. However even after saying that choosing to go see this movie in the theater will be like deciding to call your Step Mother Mom for the first time. Nothing may be wrong with your Dad's new wife but you feel you are betraying the original in doing so.

I think seeing Conan was a turning point in many guys our ages life. The first real exposure to anything that looked like that. The first to amaze us with those unreal muscles that we wouldn't even imagine a real person could have. He was our "First", he popped that cherry into the idea of what could be done with the human physique and we ALL wanted to be him.

Must be kind of what it was like for Batman fan's to see anyone but Adam West as Batman...

I still want to see it, probably will wait until it comes out in the Dollar Theatre we have nearby, is where I see most of the movies I watch on the Big Screen (They call themselves a Dollar Theatre, but it is really $1.99, I guess they figure if it isn't quite two, they can call it one, LoL) anyway $1.99 sure beats paying $11.00 at the regular theatre! OK, back to my original point, I agree with Chris, no one will ever be able to replace Arnie as Conan, honestly, from the previews, they really should have chosen a bigger guy, I mean even in the Comics Conan is an athletic hulk of a man, this new guy, from the previews mind you, just seems like a well built athlete, nothing awe inspiring like Arnie was!
 
Tell you what Al. I'm gonna put up a reward for you if you get to 5% by Halloween. Pretty much every guy likes beef jerky so I will put up 2 lbs of my homemade deer jerky if you make it! (When you make it I mean!) But to be fair and not ruin the dieting down below 4.6%, I won't send it till then. Just a little added incentive!

I mean I'm gonna shoot for 5.0%, but honestly will not get my feelings hurt unless I come in over 5.5% just because I don't really have to be that crazy lean for the THOR part! How about I just get the Jerky when I achieve my below 4.6%, because I will get below that by December 1st, at which time I will be very hungry for some good Homemade Beef Jerky!!! Anyway, your deal/challenge, so your call?

I'm not all that stingy so I'll say if you come in at or under 5.5%, it's yours! Yes, I will hold off on shipping it till you get to the 4.6% so as to not ruin the diet till then.

Then just do it slower, less intensely, all with diet, you could be absolutely shredded to the bone that way by summer, I mean 6% or below anyway! Leaner than that.. and ya probably need a hormone to get any leaner without losing muscle!

Also, I'm not saying switch your style of working out, but do what I am doing and take just 2 weeks to shock your body with the exact same workouts you normally do, only change two things, lessen the weight and do 25reps/set, the number and type of exercises, keep the exact same! Just do that for two weeks then go back to your normal style of training and I promise you will see & feel the difference, for no other reason than you are shocking your body, you should be dieting along with it, not saying carb cycling like I am, but at least eating a high protein, moderate carb, and low fat diet! Then when you are done with that, shock your body a different way, with your normal workout routine, carb-cycle for two weeks, that will shock your metabolism, I mean in those 4 weeks, you will make a dramatic difference in how you feel, how much you weigh, what your body fat is, etc. You will actually be pretty amazed at what you can accomplish in as little as 4 weeks!!!

I cycled some SD for about 6 weeks and dieted my ass off with a **** ton of cardio and gained 10 pounds lol.. (but i look a little leaner). I got veins popping out of the shoulders and arms (like in my profile pic) but cant get rid of the thin layer of chub covering the abs.

I just saw the new Conan and it was sick, story was a little altered but i still really liked it. Now there's tits in there too of course :D Fight scenes were epic!
 
Well for the 1st 8 wks I'm taking 6 FINAFLEX 1-Andro caps/day, then the 2nd 8 wks I'll be taking 6 EPI-V caps/day, basically the same thing I did last year, same diet, only differences are last year I was a tad leaner and did only 12 weeks, this year I am doing 16wks, and last year I only took 4 caps of 1-Andro/day and 4 caps of EPI-V/day. So we shall see??? I like what I'm seeing in the mirror thus far, this Monday I will post update pictures compared to day one, so you will see the difference I've made in 6wks!
 
Yeah I may go see it next weekend I just don't see it being a huge draw at the box office, but then again the violence reminded me a bit of 300 in that clips so who knows.

Exercise 1: Curl Bar Curls
Set 1 - 40Lbs for 25 reps

Exercise 2: Cable Tricep Press downs with French (curl bar) attachement

* It was Sunday so I was at a gym closer to my house, not what I'm used to, so the cables felt lighter to me making it hard to find that sweet-spot, but I burnt them, so that is what counts!

Set 2 - 25Lbs each arm for 23 reps

- This workout was performed in a different gym than I am used to, felt good, was nice to be in a different location for a change, Oh and it had a REAL HACK-SQUAT MACHINE, I was crying that it wasn't a HEAVY LEG day! It is kind of out of my way, but one of these mornings, while I'm still doing some fairly heavy weight with my normal rep-range lifting, I will have to go there on a Monday (Heavy Leg day) and test my metal! Anyway, I got my workout done in 1hr flat, they did have a sauna, so I spent about 45mins going in and out staying in as long as I could stand it.

Diet:
Meal 1 - 6 egg whites/1 yoke (pre-workout)
Meal 2 - 6 egg whites/1 yoke (post-workout)
Meal 3 - 8oz baked chicken breast & 1 can of green beans
Meal 4 - 18oz Grilled London Broil & 1 can of green beans
Meal 5 - 4 Rice cakes (2 choc. & 2 caramel) both with a thin layer of Almond butter (approx. 1 heaping tblsp each cake)
2+ gallons of water all day
 
Tried a no sodium added can of green beans yesterday.... ewww. Doesn't even come close to the way they taste when I steam them myself! I give you major props for being able to down those suckers on a daily basis.
 
Day 43 - 08/22/2011 - Heavy Legs & Calves (Yeah right, LoL, maybe next week when I switch back to my lower-rep style workouts)

Exercise 1: Leg Press
Set 1 - 2 plates on each side for 25 reps
Set 2 - 4 plates on each side for 25 reps
Set 3 - 6 plates on each side for 25 reps
Set 4 - 8 plates on each side for 25 reps
Set 5 - 8 plates on each side for 25 reps
Set 6 - 8 plates on each side for 25 reps
Set 7 - 6 plates on each side for 25 reps
* On set 4 I made it through continuously without stopping, on Sets 5 & 6, I would pause, never letting the weight down or anything, but pause for a second or two before continuing, I guess that would be what Kleen calls "Widow-Makers" with squats, well I did a similar version with my Leg presses.

Exercise 2: Seated Calf Raises
Set 1 - 3 plates for 25 reps
Set 2 - 3 plates for 24 reps
Set 3 - 3 plates for 21 reps
Set 4 - 2 plates for 25 reps
Set 5 - 2 plates for 25 reps

- Today's workout was very fast, it still hurt and it still burned, but I really needed to get in and out of there today, some changes are taking place at work starting today and I really wanted to get there extra early, I finished my workout in 40mins, I didn't really short myself that much, if I had more time I probably would have added another two sets going from 8 plates each side down to 7, then down to 6 for two sets with the six, just to completely exhaust those suckers, but oh well, still a good workout, I can still feel them aching a little now as I sit here and type this!

Diet:
Meal 1 - 6 egg whites/1 yoke (post-workout)
Meal 2 - OH Yeah Protein Bar
Meal 3 - 2 cans of tuna in water & 1 can of spinach

- OK, so I am very pleased with both my measurements and my update pictures, obviously I'm nowhere where I wanna be, so I still see myself as a FAT-A$$, but not for long Ladies & Gentlemen, not for long! I noticed that a lot of my more muscular (lower fat) areas actually went up in size, so I am thinking I will definitely do two weeks of my normal rep range, followed by another two weeks of this super-high 25reps/set for another two weeks, then I'll have to see where I am at, because at that point (4wks from now) I'll only be 6wks away from Halloween, so that is when I will make all my necessary adjustments to my diet, workout routine and +/- Cardio, etc.

OK, so a few more comments about my updates, still no signs of veins unless I'm working out, but my shoulder and bicep veins are starting to poke out pretty good when and after I'm lifting, so everything is happening, since my last update two weeks ago I'm down another belt loop/notch and my clothes are starting to fit tighter in all the right places and looser in all the right places, so even though I'm still not loving what I see in the mirror, I know the drill, consistency, consistency, consistency and I'm definitely moving in the right direction and I'd probably be happier with what I see in the mirror if I had not let myself get so damn fat, but then again, I've never seen my lean body mass this high EVER, so if my end result is being much bigger while reaching my BF% goal, then maybe this past year's bulk-up session wasn't quite so bad, even still, I promise I will move on to a Lean Gains approach to maintain my BF% in the single digits once I have hit my below 4.6% BF and win my little personal bet with myself, I am thinking that if I keep dropping fat the way I have been, I should be able to hit it sometime in mid-Nov. And like I have said before, anything under 5.5% BF for Halloween will be a great THOR and I will have no problems having my shirt off flaunting what I have worked so hard for all night long!!!

I never said I was using a low/no sodium cans of green beans, I just looked at the can since you mentioned it and each can has 1200mgs (400mgs/serving/3 servings per can). Wow, that is a lot, that might be something I'm going to have to look into, especially those last few weeks when I'm trying to come in as lean and dry as possible, will definitely be taking a closer look at any and all sodium intake, but for right now... FUGG-IT!!!
