SilentBob's (no-drama) chatroom

I want to read that book. There making a movie of it so I figure why not. What Droid model do you have T-AD?
Wait, they're making a movie of it?!?!? Why the hell should I read the book??? Movies and TV are usually how I get educated. ;)

Got the original Moto Droid. Not the bad boy on the block anymore, but still a very good piece of personal electronic equipment.

I got a nook color. It rocks.
After tax time this year, my wife and I each took a chunk to get something we wanted. Of course, I put pipes on the bike. She got a Kindle and she loves it. About 2 months later, we went out and got smartphones when our plan was up. After playing around for a while, I discovered the Kindle app - works just like a Kindle, has more options for color, text size, and whatnot, and as you read, it syncs up with your actual Kindle so that you can swap back and forth and be on the right page. After I showed her the app, I laughed at her for wasting money on the dang thing!!! Her excuse - "yeah, but the screen is small on the phone"...uh...blow up the font size! She still uses it, but it's one of those things where ya look back and regret spending over $200 for something that looks so antiquated by what is out now.

That's why I'll stick to real books. I've already got a huge problem with smart phones and other pieces of technology that turn people in to islands of isolation while being in a sea of people...that was actually addressed in 451, but that's not something I want to get in to this morning. :147:

Completed unjacked and undesirable right now. I haven't trained since Friday due to the snow. Going in this morning...gonna take a chance at the health club since I know they will be open at 11. GSR; Gym, Shower, Read. Come at me bro! :aargh:

I got my wife the Nook, the e-ink one though. I look compared the two, and the nook color uses LCD. I cannot stand reading on LCD myself, the computer screens hurt my eyes after awhile.

And reading on a phone T? Screw that, Not only LCD, but a small ass screen.

I don't know about you guys but like Mr. Durst; I too, did it all for the nookie. ;)

Agree. I like the actual aspect of reading through a book and not on a computer screen. It's sad to think that this is probably the last generation that will be utilizing actual text books for school. Soon all will be learning on a kindle or an ipad. Kind of sad when you think about it.

don't matter if it is a book or ipad-most of the kids today can't read anyways.:sigh1:

And when the bombs drop outside, everyone will be watching it on their TVs instead of running for shelter.

Personally, I can't stand sitting down to just read for fun. To me, it's simply not fun. Yes, I am an educated individual, and I've read my fair share. But recreational reading, atleast to me, just takes too much time when i could be doing something else. However, that being said, I also know that I'm a highly auditory learner. I stopped reading during my second year of college and started to learn how to really listen. My grades shot up after that. (Helps to have some massive writing skills, too.) I will read a short article every now and again or brush up on things as I need to, but when it comes to doing it for fun... I'd rather have a sketchbook. :)

See above. ;) Just because I have the app doesn't mean I use it. :afro:

I always do it all for the nookie. Everything I do is in vain. Or is it vein. Eh, no matter. Shyt don't work out. No wonder I have so much rage.

I won't be watching it, but my Droid will probably alert me to the bombs dropping, in which case I will read about it as I seek shelter...using my flashlight app when the power goes out. :privateeye:

And after the fallout you can use the built-in camera to submit your damages to an insurance adjuster. :afro:

Isn't it the truth. And their spelling is even more horrendous. I'm afraid lazy technology is making people dumber not smarter.

We had a decent discussion about this when i was in college. It basically compared the pre-wikipedia generation to the current generation. Pre-wikipedia, in order to be successful you had to become an absolute expert in one field. Post-wikipedia, people know a much wider range of subjects, but are significantly less of an "expert" in any of them.

I would, but by then, my battery would be dead. :aargh:

Let me fix that for you:

Hmmm, it's funny I'm prewiki but I'm an expert like a postwiki.... go figure.

Wiki requires reading. I don't like reading. I am still an expurt. U do the maff.

a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

for example reading 1 article on a subject, does not a expert make.

Who know's like a bro knows? No one knows like a bro knows. Bro knows books, Bro knows women, Bro knows bodybuilding, Bro even knows appropriate floral designs.

Grammar :)

Anyway, do you guys remember when everyone was typing online like they do in cellphone text messages?

:aargh:

As much as I hate smartphones, I'm glad they have qwerty keyboards on them. Now there is no excuse for some of that bullsh*t shorthand people were using.

GET OFF MY LAWN! I'm in that kind of mood already today. :afro:
