didnt bsn get sued for claiming noxplode had some type of creatine/delivery system that didnt even exist? dont know the details, just remember they changed the 'formula', and the guy at vitamin shoppe told me that was the reason.
Huge bomb will be dropped soon ! Stay tuned (not sure where he's going to post it first)

please spill the dirt. If something is junk I want to make sure I am not taking it
Theirs alot being said on the forums right now about need to build muscle/ mr supps stuff an labs coming back. Wouldn't buy from them or any company that theirs even a chance. Waaay to shady for me
I guess time will tell. Nate seems to be a stand up guy though. I know they hype their stuff but everyone does. I would think if they were just trying to run a scam and get a bunch of money quick they would be selling their stuff a lot cheaper though. I have used their stuff and still will
who is he?
who is he?
T.S.
thread starter?
LOL I wish I was making suplements!
I would like to open this up to any shady business practices. I was going to start a thread on it but wasn't sure how much response I would get due to politics.
Anyway, being based in the UK a lot of things that happen in the industry go undetected by the consumer as forums aren't as big and rarely feature US companies.
So, occasionally I hear about BB.com members being sued for slating a company, AX supposedly having amphetamines in their fat loss products etc.
I don't want politics to stop people posting these things, it is genuine consumer advice. Products like Hydroxycut (which were recalled following liver failures I believe) are still being sold. Even SX in question is being sold despite the amount of controversy that surrounded it. Us guys in the UK literally don't hear about these things.
So, if anyone has news on companies/product recalls/shady practices or anything of the sort, please post it and keep it factual!
Im open to anything.
I think all those products you mentioned were reforomulated here in the States. However i don't know how things are in the UK.
are the Gaspari Myofusion rumors true?
x2, just bought some chocolate mint from nutras last sale :sigh1:
If anyone wants to know the problem with the supplement indusry, it is easy: look in the mirror. Now, don't get me wrong. I am a consumer too and I have probably bought more supplements than a lot of you simply because of my age and the supps today are a lot better than when I first started. But the problem can be summed up in one word: expectations.
People have unrealistic expectations. Everyone complains about the outrageous claims and I personally despise them. But, if you have a choice between a product that claims "Mind blowing pumps and 10 pounds of muscle in 2 weeks" or a product that supports "healthy muscle growth" and maybe 5 solid pounds over the next 3 months. Which are you really going to choose? maybe there are a few wise people here who would choose the latter, but most ppl are going to buy the BS. And when you buy the BS, you simply force every other company to come up with better BS.
Bitch about BSN claiming to have a "Special creatine delivery system" but how many people bought it simply because it was the new how thing and we all know that new crap is often what sells. People are always searching for the next latest and greatest. if you only knew how many insiders i have heard say "What is in the bottle doesn't matter, it is the story that matters...". Not everyone thinks this way but a lot do. If everyone would adjust their expectations and stop buying bull****, then the industry would change.
I strongly agree with that whole statement.. However, you are off topic. The original post was referring to supplements containing ingredients that arent stated on the label OR not containing the ingredients stated. Its more of a health/safety concern the guy was talking about.. im pretty sure.
I personally stick with the basic staple supps like mono and fish oil and MAYBE a preworkout stim liked jacked. Theres such a myriad of other overrated, overhyped garbage that is simply put out and advertised in order to make money- and who knows what is in these products.. I can be almost certain that when i buy fish oil or creatine mono that is PROBABLY what im getting.
Fair enough but I wouldn't be so sure that your fish oil contains what is on the label either or that it doesn't contain PCBs or mercury or cadmium or...
Ill be honest and say i dont know what PCBs or cadmium is but from the articles ive read and research ive done, the mercury scare when consuming fish is exaggerated.. its such a neglegable amount, youd have to eat pounds of fish a day to be affected.
You are correct, in that we dont know what were getting with any of this non- FDA approved stuff. Thats exactly why I try to limit my supplement usage and stick with food, training, and diet to dictate what my physique looks like. I saw a guy in vitamin shoppe the other day with a **** ton of supps in his arms and looked like he hadnt worked out a day in his life. Probably just starting out and hopefully he'll realize soon hes wasting money he could be spending on something that works-food.
Cadmium is a highly toxic heavy metal and mercury (as well as other heavy metals) toxicity is cumulative. PCBs are toxic pollutants -- look up in wikipedia. All of these are present in the food chain, particularly in fish. Several companies offers PCB tested fish oil. Heavy metal testing of supplements is not required but most come from China -- has anyone heard of any heavy metal issues out of China? Also, has anyone heard of melamine?

You mind filling me in? thanks

All I'm saying is that none of this stuff is tested for because the FDA does not mandate it. Companies do not test for it because it is not mandated and it is expensive. But it's not just supplements, look at how much crap is going on with food in general. The FDA can't police it all. They are supposed to be getting more power but think about how much crap is imported or even the stuff that is produced here. Look at bisphenol A in baby bottles and now they found that perfluoroalkyls in fast food wrappers is getting into your blood stream. My point is that none of this is easy, it is all very expensive to test for and there are plenty of raw materials suppliers out there (not just in China either) who would sell you crap in a bag to make 5 cents more profit. So, while the supplement industry is a cesspool consider these ther facts too.
Oh, and wrap your brain around this: When the BS went down about melamine in baby formula, what did the FDA do? They set maximum acceptable limits. Maximum acceptable limits of an industial adulterant that has to be intentionally added to the product. Wouldn't it just be easier to not add in this poison so that the acceptable limit wold be ZERO!!! Guess what companies produce most of the baby formula...
:hitit:What's this Myofusion scare Ive been reading about?
Oh, and thanks ccnAbolic for the support. The only rule I will make for this thread is that everyone call me Mr. Dong!
Just kidding. Let's get back to the serious discussion.
