So the place that was altering my suit called today and said it was done. And so I squatted tonight.

375 -> missed it. everyone watching said i went about 3 inches past parallel, so i tried it again after about 10 minutes
375 x 1 (not easy, but not super hard) i was really gassed by this time -- my legs were shakin more than a girl's booty in a rap video. Nonetheless, this is a 65lb increase over my raw max in a suit that still needs to be tightened a little.

This is all I did today, took just a little under 2 hours to do all these.

It's worth noting that right from the get-go my right arm felt fatigued -- not in pain, but just weaker than usual. Anyway here we go:

I am finally reaping the benefits of a much improved diet. I have also now achieved a several years' long goal of reaching 150 solid. And I get the pleasure of having to cut down to 148 for the upcoming competition. :13:

i was burned out by these the time these two came around. i was liftin from a pretty big negative off the rack until the last two 385 attempts. the bar while in the rack was literally right below my chest. moved it up a notch for the last two attempts. still missed 'em.

i have really done something to my right elbow. several times during the w/o today i felt like i was gonna pass out from the pain in my arm. the only arm workout i did today was getting the suit on (which isn't that much of an arm workout) but by the end i couldn't think straight. probably gonna have to see a doctor about it. icing now.

Core day.

Someone made the comment to me yesterday that us little guys need a ridiculous core to be able to put 400+ on our backs and squat it. Leaning towards not benching or deadlifting the rest of this week and the next two to let my elbow heal.

haha i know my diet was terrible yesterday. this pain in my arm kinda dashing my hopes of competing at nationals which is all i've really been looking forward to for the past month. i just didn't feel like eating all day...until i got to the gym at which point i realized i was st-st-st-starving!

oh yea, weight pre bed was 149.7, weight this morning after :dump: was 147.7. probably retaining a lot of water from TB + Qdoba.
 
Week 12 Day 4

Recovery Day

Sleeping till 1ish really screwed up my eating schedule. Only had a 'tein shake before the gym. Was starving.

Did some recovery work. I believe what I may have is an inflamed tendon in my right arm. After several days of icing it, wrapping in an ACE wrap, and doing my bestest to keep it elevated, it didn't hurt at all today, and was doing fine through very light weights:

Hammer Bicep Curls

Hit a set, slow and controlled, BB style, at 15lbs with my right arm, was still feeling good. Then:

Core Work
Pyramids: 60sec front, left, ride sides; 45 sec front, left, right sides
Prone Leg Raises: kept my feet off the ground for:
60sec, 60sec

Took my time in these exercises. Took long rests between sets with my elbow. Still isn't hurting, which is a good sign.

yea man. the way i see it is that the competition is in two weeks from saturday. that'll be plenty of time to keep my arm outta trouble and back to its good old self. then the only thing i'll be breaking is PRs.

the arm is doing quite well. fairly certain (and this is my completely uneducated guess of what was wrong) that i had an inflamed tendon in my right elbow. After wrapping it, icing it, and trying to keep it elevated, it felt better. i didn't do any lifting this past week and benching today it felt normal.

Prep Week, Day 1
Squat:
Warmup: stretch, 135x5x2
Working Sets: 155x3, 185x3x2, 225x2x3

Bench:
Warmup: Bar x 10-15
Working Sets: 115x3, 135x3x2, 165x2x2, 175x2

Post WO Weight: 147.9lbs.

Definitely need to stretch the tris and bis and chest more when i do chest.
 
on another note, i will be doing the last four weeks of sheiko 37 in preparation for nationals, provided that i qualify this weekend. After the competition, it's back to 5/3/1 and I'll begin takin Prime, AP, 1-C, and Relora again.

Didn't feel so hot this morning. Ended up going to class for an hour and a half and then coming back and sleeping from 11 to 3:30...so I really haven't eaten much all day.

*Someone commented that my DL form was perfect, so that's good news.

245x1 teeter tottered a little and my spotter helped on the sagging side
245x1 still a little uneven, but this one was all me.

This was the third time i've worn my shirt and it's fit differently each time. The first time my arms were literally over my head, the second they were perpendicular to the rest of my body, and today they actually hung down in front of me.
 
Comp Day Thoughts

With the competition coming up this Saturday, here are my thoughts on openers and goals.

SQUAT
Open: 345
Goal: 365
*This shouldn't be too difficult. I've hit 365 easily in the gym so hopefully I'll be able to hit it no problem.

BENCH
Open: 245
Goal: 255
*Still shouldn't be too difficult. I hit 245 in the gym today and I've hit 265 in the past so hopefully this won't be a problem either.

DEADLIFT
Open: 405
Goal: 405
*Since I'm just trying to hit 1025, I'll likely just try to DL the difference on the first lift and not take any other lifts. But I've never hit above 370 before on DL so this is really the only lift that's worrying me. We'll see how it goes.

PA States Results

PA States 2010
Pretty small meet, went by real quick. Anyway, here's the down-low: In order to qualify for Nationals, I need a total of at least 1025lbs to go and compete. Break it down:

SQUAT
I squatted today with an Inzer Hardcore Squat Suit, knee wraps, and a belt.

1st Attempt: 150kg = 330.6994 lbs. Got it, easy.
2nd Attempt: 162.5kg = 358.2577 lbs. Not pretty. Totally missed it.
I had some trouble locking my knees out to start, which took a lot out of me. Was fatigued in this attempt, and dived to the bottom and just couldn't get outta the hole.
3rd Attempt: 162.5 = 358.2577 lbs. Got it. Moderately difficult.
The third time was waaaaaay different. When I got my knees wraps, I made sure that i was flexing my quads to make sure my legs were as straight as possible. This not only made locking my knees out to start a lot easier, but it also made the wraps a bit more comfortable and squatting in them felt much much easier.

Best Squat: 162.5kg / 358.2577 lbs


BENCH PRESS
I benched today in an Inzer Extreme High Performance Heavy Duty Blast shirt, a singlet, wrist wraps, and a belt.

Attempt 1: 107.5kg / 237.0012 lbs. Got it easy. Glad I could touch it in the shirt.
Attempt 2: 112.5kg / 248.0245 lbs. Got it, still pretty easy.
Attempt 3: 117.5kg / 259.0479 lbs. Got it, a little work locking out, but still had some in me.

Best Bench: 117.5kg / 259.0479 lbs.


DEADLIFT
I deadlifted today in the same Inzer HC Squat Suit from earlier, and a belt.

Now at this point, my subtotal was 280kg / 617.3055lbs, which means that I needed at least 185kg / 407ish pounds. I decided to just go for broke on the first attempt.

1st Attempt: 187.5kg / 413.3742lbs. Got it! It was shaky, I was told it looked like I was dancing, someone else said it looked like I popped some blood vessels in my face and eyes, but I got the lift.
2nd Attempt: Bye
3rd Attempt: 192.5kg / 424.3976lbs. Barely got it off the floor. No worries, I was tired from everything else today. I'm still pleased.

Best Deadlift: 187.5kg / 413.3742lbs (+45lb PR)

TOTAL: 467.5kg / 1030.68lbs :1244:
