Andy Laroque and Hank Shermann and Michael Denner from King Diamod, Mercyful Fate, Warren De Martini of RATT, Steve Morse, Wolf Hoffmann from Accept, of course George Lynch.
Here's a pic of me and George Lynch about a month ago.
I'm into the older metal from the 80's seem better than today, especially some of the guitar parts. However, there is some good metal today. I still listen to older slayer, megadeth, metallica, van halen, iced earth, anthrax. Rust In Peace great album, like every song.
Yeah, rust in peace is great. But I like Countdown to extinction the best...it was like a cult classic for us headbangers back in jr. high...lol.
Feeling paraniod, true enemy or false friend, anxiety's attacking me and I don't know where I've been. I'm in trouble for the things I haven't gone through yet, I'm chomping at the bit, and my palms are getting wet.....SWEATING BULLLLEEEETS. WOOOOHOOOOO!!!
Your a good man! If you are fimilar with Iced Earth's other CDs, you'll recognize where my name came from.
Hey B5150,
Have you caught Priest/Queensryche on the current tour? I saw them in Minneapolis at the beginning of the month and had a blast. Priest was dead on but Queensryche made me sad. Only one song off of Operation Mindcrime.

July 10 in Phoenix is their scheduled date. I will be attending. I did mention to you some time ago seeing QR do O:M - Live, in the round...front row. I anticipate anything less than that will be a little disappointing. Yeah...I was reading that their set list was quite broad and diverse with some less popular and more old school QR. Here is a Invalid Link Removed. For us old guys this will bring back memories...
Judas priest, motorhead, black sabbath, iron maiden - you guys are dinosaurs! I do give them respect as progenitors of metal however.
Keep your white snake, ratt, poison, white lion, bon jovi hair 1980s hair band stuff to yourself though :rasp: - those were all commercial cash generating pop creation products. They have more in common with n'sync than metal.
Tomorrow night in Phoenix I will be revisiting the Classic Judas Priest Album British Steel Live with my friend Dante.

From a fire ball we came
Cross sea and mountain
We were drinking beauty with our eyes
We were given all
To make our own
Let us be left alone
Lay the tasks and pay the price
Everything suffice
Crashed and bolted all we craved
After every whim
What a state we're in
Is pain better than the grave?
Well we talk with other men
We see red and then
Deep inside our blood begins to boil
Like a tiger in the cage
We begin to shake with rage
Steeler
Catch the flame now
Eye to eye
Don't let chances pass you by
Always someone at your back
Biding their time for attack
Check for decoys
Stay sharp edged
Double crosser's get your head
Carpet baggers bluff and strike
Kiss of judas spider like
Waiting like jackels
To sneak up and trick you
Wolves in sheeps clothing
So deft in consoling
Lurking in shadows
They pounce least expected
When they come to
They'll have gone right through you
Tricksters guilters
Play their game
Slight of handers
All the same
Masquerader in his lair
Wants to tangle in your hair
Whiskey woman don't you know that you are drivin' me insane
The liquor you give stems your will to live and gets right to my brain
Don't you know you're driving me insane
You're tryin' to find your way through life
You're tryin' to get some new direction
Another woman got her man
She won't find no new connection
Takes another drink or two, things look better when she's through
Takes another look around, you're not goin' anywhere
You've realised you're gettin' old and no one seems to care
You're tryin' to find your way again
You're tryin' to find some new...
Another woman's got her man
But she won't find a new...
Takes another drink or two, things look better when she's through
You 'bin foolin' with some hot guy
I want to know why is it why
Get up get out you know you really blew it
I've had enough, I've had enough, good God pluck me
Once she was wonderful
Once she was fine
Once she was beautiful
Once she was mine...she was mine
Now change has come over her body, she doesn't see me anymore
Now change has come over her body, she doesn't see me anymore
Changes, changes, changes, changes
Victim of changes
We're taught unconditional love
That blood is thicker than water
That a parent's world would revolve
Always around their son or their daughter
You pretended I was your own
And even believed that you loved me
But were always threatened by some
Invisible blood line that only you could see
You took advantage of an outreached hand
And twisted it to meet your every need
''Gimme time to re-charge my batteries,
I'll see her when she's older and I'll bounce her on my knee''
Well listen to me you ungrateful fool
Here comes a dose of reality
You'll go to your grave a sad and lonely man
The door is now closed on your pathetic little plan
On and on and on and on it goes
It's so easy to run away with nothing in tow
How can you ever sleep a wink at night
Pretending that everything is alright
And have the nerve to blame this mess on me
Never in my life have I seen someone
So ignorant to the damage he has done
You're the rotted root in the family tree
I tried your 4 bill therapy
I tried to make amends
But nothing could lure you out of your selfish shell again
Expecting everyone to bow and kiss your feet
Don't you see respect is not a one way street
Blaming everyone for all that you've done wrong
I'll get my peace of mind when you hear this song
On and on and on and on it goes
And with every passing day true colors show
How can you ever sleep a wink at night
Pretending that everything is alright
And have the balls to blame this mess on me
Never in my life have I seen someone
Oblivious to the damage he has done
You're the rotted root in the family tree
Watch where you walk
Don't you dare cross the crooked step
Watch the way you talk
Don't cross the crooked step

Never in my life have I seen someone
So ****ing blind to the damage he has done
You're the rotted root in the family tree
I love all the classic hair metal bands. Iron maiden is one of my personal favorites, and not just the 3 songs everyone knows from rock band...I can't believe they sold out to them. I've listened to every song and every album from them, many times, even studio auditions.
:head:

I gotta say I really don't like Iron Maiden at all. Listened to their old stuff, their new stuff, but none of it does anything for me at all. Doesn't capture what I like about metal. I do dig Judas Priest, however, mostly some "Stained Class" and "Sad Wings of Destiny." I kind of prefer the stuff before early heavy metal (some prog) and the stuff after it (thrash, death metal, etc), but there are some others in between I dig.
