Old School Metal

I was just 'dated' when I found out that Judas Priest was re-releasing the 30th Anniversary Screaming For Vengeance CD/DVD

I was at this show and drove back to Arizona the next morning just in time to get to my H.S. graduation ceremony...

 
I basically HATE ANYTHING from the 80's. My era would be from 60's-70's, then 90's. Anywhere (60's-70's) from Skynyrd to The Doors. Love Reggae too, Marley gets mad love, more modern reggae such as Sublime gets love too. I loved all the **** from 60's 70's era though, mostly psychedelic druggy ****, none of that mainstream **** from then like The Eagles. I also like alot of the funk **** from then, Sly and The Family Stone comes to mind. Then i jump to the 90's, MOTHER****ING GRUNGE, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, all favorites. I hate country, but love outlaw country, so Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Hank Jr, David Alan Coe, all bad asses. I ****ing love rap too don't get me wrong, i ain't too big on modern rap, the whole snapback and tattoo **** i just can't get into, but J. Cole, A$AP Rocky, Juicy J, Meek Mill's good too, just signed to a bull**** label with fake dudes. Now to the metal part, never really got into the leather wearing makeup look type stuff, i like Metallica and that's about it, weird that i don't really like that stuff in general but LOVE Pantera, just the vibe i catch from them.

Doesn't the old Atomic Punks' (DLR VH cover band) lead singer sing for them. I like the sound but sometimes...cliche much ;)
 
Yup, same guy! I like the cliche, its funny as hell. The last cd is as good musically as anything though. Talented bunch of guys. The guitarist used to be in Fight and Racer X.

Haha, that's a great story.

Similarly, I remember in high school when I decided to go to a weekend-long death metal fest instead of going to my senior prom, even though I was dating someone then. Everyone else probably forgot what they did at prom, but seeing some of my favorite bands from far away that weekend is a memory I still hold dear today.
