BB Storm or Iphone 3g S?

Contract ends on the 1st of July and looking to leave Sprint. I like my BB curve but want a bit more 'fun' :) Anyone have any opinions?
 
iPhone 3G s

I do tech support for the iPhone so i can tell you what you wanna know.

Pretty much the same as the 3G includes faster Chipset, better graphics and a video camera, screen is also more resistant to fingerprints.

The iPhone gives you access to the APP Store which has awesome games and allows me to keep track of my workouts with the apps they offer, along with diet.

Downfall, No MMS as of yet, will come sooner or later, your tied down with ITMS, and apple... you have to use iTunes. And your stuck with at&t unless you wanna jailbreak it for Tmobile.

I'm used to not having MMs since for some reason sprint doesn't support it with the BB 8830... I'm a heavy internet user on my phones and looking for something that has a bit more completeness to it. A lot of sites don't render right or i'm constantly having to change with emulator I use to make certain things work. i.e. Youtube, my bank.

can I load my own mp3's and videos on to the memory and play those or do they HAVE to be itunes friendly?
 
As long as you can get it into iTunes you can get it on the phone. No Flash on the iphone either... Which means no porn :(
 
Do any phones support flash yet? I have no experience with Itunes yet so not too sure how that whole thing works. I can deal without porn but it would be nice to play mobsters on myspace :)
 
Very few phones have a flash player, if you were to ask me which do... i couldn't answer.

However you can get to the fully myspace on the phone. :) Full facebook... i dunno i think your restricted to a mobile website.
 
I strongly suggest you get the IPhone, its much better.. talk to someone whos had the BB Storm for a few months and ask them what they hate about it, you'll run straight after Apple's phone in a heart beat.
 
From a communication standpoint, the BB runs over all, though the storm sucks.. I HATE TOUCH SCREENS. If you have ATT, the bold rocks, anyone else is coming out with something comparable.

The Palm Pre is pretty hot, and actually got my cousin to get rid of her IPhone for it.

So many choices.. I personally will not get an IPhone just because I despise touch screen and having to retype a message 30 times because it cant understand the key presses of a 230 pound man.

I've typed on the iphone and storm and although it's not nearly as fast as my qwerty keyboard it isn't too bad. I was really looking forward to the pre but I don't like the way sprint is handling their inception. I wanted a touchscreen with a slide out keyboard but the board on the pre seems flimsey and so small it is worse than a touch screen.
 
I had the I phone a year and a half and enjoyed it but i was having dropped calls (at&t)everyday and couldnt deal with it anymore. Having to walk outside to take a phone call became a pain in the ass. I switched over to verizon and did the buy one get one on the blackberry storm and love the service. No dropped calls anymore, I now plan on switching my business plan from sprint over to verizon now because of this. I hate texting on the storm compared to the iphone and really miss having wifi on the phone but the service is amazing. If i could get the iphone on verizon service I would definitely switch back to the iphone. Just my .02
 
TYhe os on the bb storm is GARBAGE. locks up all the time and is just not designed that great

As for not getting mms on sprint, go to blackberry.com and download version 4.5 os software and youll be able to get mms on it after that.

The iphone is easier to use and better response/better apps id say go for the iphone
 
I couldn't imagine living my life without my iPhone. I rely on it WAY more than I expected. WELL worth the money.

I was thinking this the other day. Since I'll be back in the states soon I need a new phone. I like the features of the Iphone but At&T, yuck.
 
oi! I have a G1... Its actually a good phone. Doesn't come close to the iphone, but shes up there with Mr. Blackberry.
 
Damn I am in the same boat. Contract ends in 2 months. I have verizon, love the service, but need a web phone. It was either Iphone or the Storm. Verizon has amazing service, even picks up in Mexico, while two friends with Iphones couldnt get service that far.

The iphone does carry alot of power with it though.

The app store is the win for the iphone, bigger and better internal chipset and graphics. Games... Logging for my lifts in the gym, and my diet. I have an ipod touch and i get free sms using wifi....

The damn thing is like my notebook that plays my music

I can get free sms, i can get diet/workout tracker, i also have FLASH..lol

I don't play games, ever.

Plus i like the keyboard.

I guess it comes down to what your preferences are.

What ROM are you running on your G1?

Just got it, factory settings. I have a jailbroken Ipod touch tho?

I do play games, but i have a PS3... I'm a fan of the Keyboard, which is why i own it.

I'm also at work, so i can't go around saying our product blows.... I prefer the App store and itunes music store to anything available.

...I can't believe im fighting for Apple. O.o

Its all good. I am an apple hater.;) As i post this from my wifes MAC..lol

Is your G1 runing 1.5(cupcake) firmware? Or still the old one?

There is some pretty nice custom roms out there now, including HERO(belive it is from the g3).

I have the pre now which is a great phones but needs some bugs to be sorted out. It will be a year or so until that is all figured out and they have decent apps available. I reserved the New iphone 3gs and will be picking it up tomorrow. I had the instinct so i got used to a touch screen keypad so the iphone shouldn't give me any problems.

The pre has no visual voice mail and no voice dialing which sucks. It also cannot take video and the battery doesn't even last a full day and i'm not even using my phone like crazy. I never thought i would go with the iphone because at&t plans are so expensive but this is the 3rd version and a lot of things that needed to be corrected have been so i think the Iphone is the best choice.

I text faster with an iphone than regular keypad. After a while you get good at it and the auto correction is the best out there.

I tried using it, and cannot stand it.. the autocorrection couldnt fix my fat ass fingers. And I only use my phone for business functions, and IPhones are anything but secure compared to the BB.
 
I have been using the iPhone 3g for 11 months. I love it! Im in Canada and apparantly the service here is much better... Never once had a droped call and always have full signal.

BTW: Hi Jayhawwk, that post got my attention on google.
 
I've never had problems with Tmobile, even when I lived in Germany. I do need a new phone though since I sold my old phone before I left the US.

I love my iPhone; however, the new 3.0 update has screwed up my wifi/bluetooth features. Apparently this has happened to quite a few people with the new update. Let's see how long it takes them to figure this one out.

Nice FAIL, apple!!
