Baby Wifey's Bucket of Happiness

Yesterday I did some heavy deadlifts! I'm very sore right now, everywhere. That I truly love about Deads. :)

4x6

BB Deadlifts: 165, 185x3
w/ DB Shoulder Press: 40 lb DBs

Chin-Ups:Body weight, (negatives on last 2 reps of last set)
w/ Split Squats: BW+ 60 lbs

4x12-15

Reverse Cable Curls: 40 lb

Cable Tricep Extension:60 lb

20 minutes on Stair Step

I was very happy with my chin-ups. I didn't think I'd be able to get out that many, but I was surprised!:) Deadlifts were okay, IMO. Since I haven't done them in a while with heavy weight, gripping the bar was difficult. I didn't want to go higher than 185, and Resolve prompted me to stick with 185, so I did. Still wish I could have pulled more. :/

I really didn't want to be working out in the gym yesterday. My mood was pretty low and my attitude was bad. After completing the weights I was ready to go home. I knew that it would be good to do cardio, but I didn't want to. As I was preparing to pack up my stuff in the locker and leave, I started thinking, "What the heck? You have time to do cardio why aren't you doing it? Okay, what is the most difficult cardio machine for you? Stair stepper? Get the hell out there and do it!" Don't you love that little voice in your head? :p

Just tried out LG's PB Lipotropic Gemma Protein. It is SOOO good! It reminds me of a Butter Fingers bar- my favorite as a little kid. I didn't think I would like this, because I didn't enjoy the Vanilla or Chocolate. But the gemma flavor is very subtle and the PB is very strong! :D

That's amazing to hear. Wow. I despised the original chocolate, and hated the vanilla even more. I haven't tried the reformulated stuff yet. All I've heard is good things.

Bleh, I haven't tasted the reformulated stuff either. But vanilla and Choco were nasty. I was so surprised that I liked the PB.

I asked her, "Are you going to use the PB post-workout tomorrow?" She replied, "No WAY! I'm saving it for times that I will actually enjoy it! Post-workout I just chug whatever I'm using and don't even really taste it."

I think that pretty much sums up her opinion for it. :D

Man, that's awesome. I need to get me some.

YA!!! :yumyum:

Today I will be doing heavy squats! Haven't done those in a while, but I'm looking forward to it!

This evening Resolve and I are calling some dances. Swing and Classical- we should be getting a bit of cardio in then! ;)

I want to do heavy squats!!!...Too bad I'd crack in two pieces right now if I tried to. I miss them...I don't feel like my legs/glutes have been getting enough work lately. I'm afraid they're shrinking.

That's awesome about the dancing. I LOVE swing dancing! Haven't done too much classical dancing, although I'm sure I'd love that too. - I'd don't meet classy enough women around here to have a dancing partner. :(

Ha! Resolve has been calling dances for years, and just about 3 or 4 years ago I became his "demo" partner. :) We usually are teaching high schoolers for their birthday parties or graduations. They love it- most of them, that is.

Sounds great. I did a bit of latin (tango) a little while back, but would love to do some more latin american or ballroom dancing. Definitely hard to find a partner to go with though (or when you have a partner, one that will LEAD). When I have more time I will go (maybe Sean won't mind trying when I'm over) :)

I have to say that I am definitely better at ballroom dancing than swing. I've been ballroom dancing for over 5 years, while swing was only introduced to me about 3 years ago. I have a much more difficult time getting down the rhythm of swing. Resolve on the other hand... Watch out!!!!

I just got back from the gym and I am feeling great! Squats were somewhat difficult because I haven't gone heavy for a while, so I really tried to focus on my form rather than weight.

5x5

BB Squats: 145x3, 150 lbs
w/ BB Seated Cable Rows: 105 lbs

DB Flat Bench Press: 45, 50x2, 55, 60 lb DBs
w/ Explosive Step Ups: 35 lbs

3x15

BB Bicep Curls: 40 lb
w/ Overhead BB Tricep Extensions: 30 lb

4x12
Leg Curls: 120, 135x2, 120

I set a PR for DB Bench. I really only got out 3 legitimate reps w/ the 60 lb DBs though. The other 2 reps weren't done with great form.

I went up 10 lbs in my BB Bi Curls! This makes me happy.

And I set a PR for my Leg Curls- I've never used 135 lbs for 12 reps.

All in all this workout was amazing. I haven't felt this good after lifting for a couple of weeks now, and it is such a nice change to be going heavy again. I really feel like my body responds well to heavy lifting. With some extra cardio added I believe I make the best fat loss progress on this kind of program.

I've been taking Reset-AD to help with my stim tolerance. I've been keeping my stim intake to a minimum this week and am definitely noticing a good change. I have a lot more energy.

Good to see the strength increases. Makes you walk out of the gym on a bit of a high after such sessions :)

Oh, totally! :D

Your strength is VERY impressive, BW! Nice work! Your DB Bench is impressive. I rarely ever see women using that weight.

Thank you! I was surprised by how easily I was pressing the 50's up. There was a guy next to me benching 45's and 50's, and as I started bumping the weight up to 55's and 60's he gave me these looks of, "What the hell? Well, better not mess with her." It cracks me up when I get that.

Workout Update:

6x4

Clean and Press: 85, 95, 100x2, 105, 110

Dips: BW+10,15, 20, 25 x3
w/ DB Lunges: 47.5 lb DBs

Pull Ups: BW-40x2, -30x2, Body Weight Negatives

3x15

Cable Bicep Curls: 70, 60, 50
Rope Cable Tricep Extensions: 40, 30 x2

My last rep with 110 on my C&P took a while to get out. I had to rest for too long before I could muster up the strength for that final rep! :lick:It made me sad. :(

On the other hand, my Dips were great, IMO. :D

I will be gone for a couple of days at my grandparent's in Huntington Beach. They have no internet, so I won't be on here until Friday or Saturday night! Will be working out tomorrow.

wow, I haven't updated this thread in a long time. I've been super busy getting ready to move.

Been working out like usual. Diet has been off lately though. I'm not too worried- I'll get back on track once the move is finally done.

Do you guys have a gym picked out at your new place?

Ya, I think we've found another 24 hour Fitness that will work out there. We will have to see what it looks like when we arrive in TX.

Just got back from a gym in Phoenix, AZ. It wasn't a very nice gym. They had the bare necessities to get a good workout.

That's awesome that you guys are working out during the trip! I love getting workouts in while traveling the country. Normally I take breaks when I'm on vacation, but sometimes I have to travel unexpectedly and end up getting some great workouts in.

Ya, it was good. The trainers were so lame though! Didn't even look like they worked out at all!

Workout:

5x5
Clean and Press: 85, 100, 100, 105, 100

BW Dips to failure: 13+3+2+2, 8+2+2, 6+2+2, 8+2
supersetted w/ 4x6 Lunges: 2 DBS: 30 lbs each

4x6 Negative Pull-Ups: BW-30 lbs

4x15 Hammer Curls: 20 lbs

25 minutes of steady state cardio on the Eliptical

You'll find that this is very common in this industry (we discussed this a while back, too). The last gym I worked at few of the trainers trained at all. It was more about IMAGE and LOOKING fit and healthy, as oppsed to BEING it (which is not cool, but apparently what worked re clients)...Anyways, yep, good seeing you train while away.

Im a member of an LA Fitness. They have got a couple big boys as reps or trainers. Its cool in that it gives you motivation sometimes, but other than that, does anyone actually use one?

Are you talking about the state or the women with mustaches and vanerial diseases?

Both. :p

Finally in TX. Not actually in Dallas, but it is nice to finally be in the state I'll be residing in for at least 5 years.

Worked out in the Hotel fitness room. Not the best workout, but it was decent:

4x15

DB Squats: 30 lb DBs
w/DB Rows: 30 x2, 20, 25 lb DBs

4x8
Step Ups: BW+ 20 lb DBs
w/ DB Bench Press: 35 lbs, 40 lbs, 45 lb x2 DBs

25 minutes on Bicycle

Welcome to Dallas. It will grow on you judging by the rest of the people that move here and never leave. Glad your journey was a safe one.

Thank you! We are going to be moving into our apartment today. I may not have access to the internet over the next few days though. :(

I had a pretty good workout yesterday!

4x6

BB Deadlifts: 185x2, 195x2, 200 for 3 more reps

5x5 Bodyweight Chin-Ups

4x6
Seated DB Shoulder Press: 42.5 lb DBs

Split Squats: 10 BW reps to each leg

It was a great workout! I went to a new gym here in Dallas and it was better than the one in Temecula, CA! I was shocked. It actually had a Dipping Belt available and it was clean with lots of equipment. It was on the top floor of a huge 10 story building, so looking out of the windows one would see awesome buildings against a beautiful blue sky. Somehow they managed to keep it extremely cool up there! The woman's bathroom had complimentary body spray, lotion and hair spray. < If you haven't noticed already, I LOVE this gym! :D

Anyway, I've been out of Reverse for 2 weeks now. :( I should be getting some more soon, but as for now I can certainly tell that I haven't been taking the stuff. I want it back!:17:
