Timber's Epi Smash

Epi was a fun compound and you will enjoy it Timber. Had some great strength gains and mood was great....but just be ready for a bit of an emotional roller coaster. Your mood will be all over the place soon. But WILL level off. Sorry if I missed this but do you have anything for lethargy or are you just gonna take it like it is?

I'm dealing with that myself...I definitely feel a little off balance while on it...and what sucks about the lethargy on epi is that it prevents me from being able to sleep during the day. So I'm stuck laying in bed, depressed, tired, and unable to take a nap.

Ya. I'm usually real pissy during the day. Little things set me off...Like today I went out to eat and saw these 4 women sitting at a table downing wine and gossiping...I mean, normally that would annoy me, but today it just really pissed me off.

i almost lost it yesterday. took the kids to see disney's earth. there's a woman 5'7" 220 in front of me - oompa loompa build. she got a extra large tub of popcorn with extra butter - and a diet coke.

dunno why that upset me as much as it did, but boy was i ever mad.

sometimes it's difficutl to understand someone killing them selves with a fork...I understand the frustration.

That sh*t is insane. I feel ur pain. I met a guy around my area who wants to lose 15 lbs, yet i always see him eating muffins, chips, drinking soda. I just shut up and keep pressing.

This is why I have to avoid these compounds....I'm like that 24/7 without them.

At the same restaurant today...

So their chairs are the kind where they don't have 4 legs, but a base that looks like " > " but obviously more U-shaped...Anyways, this real big woman slams herself down in one and I swear the entire bar was about to snap in half...She proceeded to empty the entire bread-basket by herself.

I don't mind fat people continuting to get fat...

I do hate the fat people that give other fat people diet and training advice.

Epi definately had me on edge, but it was nowhere near my anger level on Tren/P-Plex. Little **** had me blow up outta control. I would stay the hell outta your path if you gave Tren a shot. LOL

Back in the day when I used the real gear, man I was a ticking time-bomb. 200mg Test P and 50mg of Tren A every day. I felt great, but man did little things piss me off...I kept it under control pretty well, though.

Isn't the real Tren A basically injectable anger? LOL

The fact that you almost have to squeeze the plate together seems to make a difference for me. I like them a lot better than DB Front Raises and BB Front Raises...both of those exercises just piss me off.

Thanks IC...I'll give em a shot next shoulder workout.

Dfly loves those things and she's got great delts. I use them on and off; I like using them as part of a circuit...I have to say that I despise any delt-raise exercise. Like, they really, REALLY piss me off...Like, if you're near me when I'm doing them, I can't guarantee I won't snap your neck...Like, I just freaking hate raises...I hate them.

hahaha you crazeh! I actually enjoying raises the most out of all exercises :dunno:

I need new exercises to try tho..Im doing a new exercise everytime dealy now

It was a pretty standard shoulder workout to be honest... Legs were still sapped from Friday - so only did 2 mile run as well.

The plate raises have been the best change to my shoulder routine in a long time. I use the 45 and then drop to a 25 after 12-15 reps. Three sets of those and your shoulders are smoking. Just a different feel than the bb and db raise. I've done them all and these are the best so far.

Check them out. Worth a shot.

I quite like cable front raises without the attachment (so you can hold the cable in a neutral grip).

The constant tension really nails the anterior delt for me :)

The constant cable tension is the truth. You do it with your thumb facing upward? Give me a description, I'm a little slow....

I'm always looking for something new. I used to do them with a rope between my legs. Thumbs facing each other. The tension was the killer. Not much weight needed to make it hurt.

if I'm not mistaken, having your thumb up would be "safer" for your shoulder. I do mine with my thumb up and my arm 30 degrees out.

oooo Im tryin that one soon too..some good ideas here!

Bring your good ideas to the smash... That's why were here.

Me and my lifting partner are trying to decide wtf to lift tonight since both of us can still hardly walk.

haha, ill let you know the feeling tomorrow. I plan on beating my legs to absolute hell

LMAO. That is too funny. I hate front raises too. And side raises. I just think they're retarded. I'm starting to lose all interest in exercises like this, preferring to focus instead on heavy compound movements. I figure if I put all my energy into overhead presses, db presses, military presses, etc., I should be straight. I mean, what the hell is a measly front raise really gonna do for me that those heavy compounds won't? Seriously?

Have you guys ever done Reverse Grip DB Front Raises? You lift the DB with your palm facing upwards.

I warm up my shoulders with a ten pound plate and do raises with that for 10 reps. Those are hard as hell! Just with the plate my fronts get hot. I feel like a girlie man while doing it but say its a "warm up" so its OK to do it and feel weak as hell.

Dude, I totally hear you. I was just doing those compunds for the longest time thinking that it would take care of all my shoulder develpoment. The one thing I came to realize is that my shoulders were horribly unbalanced. I was getting pain/problems because the fronts were over developed from pressing while the rear and sides were lacking badly. I talked to my old wrestling coach who was a power lifting champion and he said I needed balance to take the pressure off my shoulders. He said developing the rears would take a lot of stress off the fronts and make me more pain free. He was totally correct and I have had many years of almost pain free shoulders.

So I think do you but be a bit conscious of getting parts too big. Thats my story, for what its worth.

Yeah, you guys are spot on... If you want to develop the shoulders overall, start doing some compounds that tear them up like snatches. Plus, who doesn't want to say they hit 30 reps on the snatch 2 times a week?

I seriously miss abusing my legs. I have been unable to really fukk my legs up since tearing that disk. Last week I did some leg work, but unfortunately instead of my muscles being beaten, it just agrevated the same spots that ache from my back issue.

Damn I miss heavy sqats. :684:

Snatches are extremely underrated! I used to love doing them but my wrist prob keeps me from doing any upright rows ish :(...one day

i can hit snatch more than 30 times twice a week..

Do you belt up on squats?

I bet being in Iraq throws a bit of a damper on that. Wouldn't want to be a girl around you when you get back on US soil... Hello chafing.

I'm scared to try snatches cuz of my back issue. :(

Snatches are probably the easiest exercise to injure yourself on...

My old math teach broke his wrists snatching 405lbs. Dude was a gorilla; I don't mean any racist disrespect by that, but seriously, he was a monstrous black dude...Ex-SF...A few years ago I heard he had a heart attack. I'm curious how he's doing as far as size, weight lifting, etc. The guy had to be on gear back when he was teaching me.
