What is a good men's multivitamin?

I used to take centrum, then one-a-day for men, and I'm running out of GNC's ultra men multi... just seeing what else is out there and why it is the best for a young athlete.

Yup there's lots out there; some are more expensive than others of course, but offers more. If you really work out hard, you might want to spend a bit extra to make sure you've got you're nutrients covered.

Like RR Said, the Invalid Link Removed has been around for over 25+ years, but there are others that are quite popular like Orange Triad, NOW Adam, MVP etc. I used ADAM for a long time, but I have tried many others as well. I personally find it hard to tell the difference.

The new Orange Triad is EXCELLENT and far better than any bb multi on the market in terms of profile and extras. The Pak isn't even close I wouldn't even consider it. This is if you're not into dosing an ACES + B Complex scheme. Go with the new Triad.

one-a-days are pretty good and cheap. Also NOW Adam multis are money. U" can use them for cycle support

right now I'm trying out Applied Nutriceuticals' new multi called Complete-Balance. It's pretty standard, but it is reasonably priced and pretty complete. I agree that Orange Triad is a solid choice, and there are many others too

Curently taking NOW Foods ADAM..been taking for 2 months. w/o any problems...good multi-v for very little money

opti-men is a pretty good vitamin its only 20 bucks for the 180 capsules. I only take two a day and this last about 3 months so its pretty cheap

Man I gotta agree with all those that said Animal Pak. It works great and is not too bad on the wallet you can get it for about 21 bucks.

Another vote for Animal PAK.

I've been on it since early October. I can't really tell why, but I feel better when I take them, plus they help what I'm lacking in nutrient wise in my diet.

Also, you can't really tell if a multi-vitamin is working. It's just like getting a tune up on a new car. You just have to look for the most complete profile in the multi at the best price.

Thanks for the support fellas.

Orange Triad or ON Opti-Men. switch between the two and both of them are excellent and last a pretty good amount of time for the money.

ive been using Pak for 8+ years, and wouldnt get rid of it for anything!

Another for the Pak. I have trouble with pills, but it seems like all the pills in the Pak go down without a problem. I have an easier time taking those 11 (11 pills right?) than 2 fish oil caps.

yeah it's 11 pills. Keep it up brother!

I take twinlab omega 6 : gnc is horrendous - so is centrum - so is one a day- so is twinlab one. Here's a study posted on another board .....

From Christian Thibaudeau:

A document ranked the top multis available based on quality and proper amount of the nutrients (14 different criteria in all). They tested 510 brands and gave a score from 0 to 100% to each of them. Only 8 out of 510 scored higher than 80%:

- USANA essentials - US version: 96.1%
- Douglas labs - Ultra preventive X: 95.4%
- Vitamin Research Products - Extended plus: 93.1%
- Source naturals - Life Force multi: 92.8%
- Source naturals - Elan '> vial: 91.8%
- USANA essentials - Canadian version: 90.2%
- Freelife - Basic mindell plus: 82.3%
- Life extension foundation - life extension mix: 81.4%

The ''Mega men'' by GNC tested out at ... 21.1%
Centrum at 4.7%
One-a-day active at 4.1%
The Twinlab one at 26.4% (although the Mega6 is at 56% ... still way below acceptable)
NOW foods multis range from 23% to 40%

Whitey (UKI).

I just saw a report published that ranked many many multivitamins. Well, if you are taking walmart, centrum, etc....u are basically throwing your money away. Trust me, it hurt to see the article, but it is very legit. It was ranked on 1-400, and 400 being the worst multi. From what i remember, centrum, equate, etc were like 367, 387.

I believe the brand "Lef" was highly ranked. Im not sure if that is the name or not though

USANA has a book called the comparative guide which rates theres #1 and every other brand not so good.

where does Animal pak rate in there? In my book it is number one but what do the scientists think?

That is really interesting thanks for the info. I've tried numerous multi-vitamins and they are just one of those things I take as a form of 'insurance' since you can never really tell if they are working.
Animal Pak is simply too many vitamins for me and too much stuff in them. You don't need all that. Right now I have been using NOW Adam Multi at 2 pills per day and I can't complain.
Of those top vitamin companies you listed I have only heard of 2 of them and know little about those, that is interesting (and kinda worrysome) that those scored so well, and coming from Thibaudeau I feel it is a legit study.

Animal Pack is great but quite a chew. I am good at choking down pills but this takes it to a new level.

Don't chew'em Astro. LOL!
But seriously Pak is where it's at bro. You will not be disappointed but just have a BIG glass of water when you take them. Me taking pak in the mornings is my kids entertainment before school.

The book rated it low because they low dose many things. So even though theres a lot of stuff in it its under dosed according to the book.

USANA has a book called the comparative guide which rates theirs #1 and every other brand not so good.

Well according to Muscle Tech's research and development team (Jay Cutler in a lab coat) Anabolic Halo has a 500% increase on muscle anabolism compared to just 5.5% from Fizogens Blitz Cycle... LOL it's like saying the same thing really. Of course the book you saw was biased if their brand of Multi's are #1.

Don't believe everything you read !

Pak, when it was created back in 1983, was designed for competitive bodybuilders and many of the pros used it in the day. For the average individual, the two packs a day dose is unnecessary. Truth is, Pak ain't for everyone...

I have been known to choke down a Pak or 2 in my day... I have used others too, but none of them seem to get the job done.
