TALES FROM THE ABYSS!!

BACK

OVERHAND LAT PULLDOWNS

310 X 9-5-3 = 17 total reps!! (Up 5 lbs. and 3 reps!)
Immediate drop to 230 X 14

I took this workout to Drop Set City this morning!! It's time to up the intensity!! Just because your muscles hit total failure at a given weight, doesn't mean you can't lower the weight and crank out some more!! More pain equals more gain!!

UNDERHAND CLOSE-GRIP PULLDOWNS

290 x 10 (UP 10 LBS.)
Immediate drop to 210 X 7

I only rested long enough to get up and change the pin on the weight stack. Maybe 5 seconds tops. Grueling shizzle up in this hizzle!!

REVERSE-GRIP BENTOVER ROWS

315 X 8 (up 1 rep)
Immediate drop to 205 X 10

My faith was unwavering this morning. I felt like there was nothing I couldn't accomplish. I had the wind in my sails. The lightening in my veins. And the thunder in my voice!! :aargh:

ONE-ARM DB ROWS

ONE-ARM DB SHRUGS

110 x 16 (UP 1 REP)

I still think I may rename these concentration shrugs!! LOL I can lower the DB very low and then shrug it up so very high. Incredible contractions. My traps were really cramping up on these. Growing pains.

BICEPS

MACHINE PREACHER CURLS

200 X 10 (up 10 lbs.)
Immediate drop to 110 X 13

What a pump. Blew 'em up like 2 big footballs. They were so swollen, it was hard to even flex afterwards.

STANDING CLOSE-GRIP CABLE BAR CURLS

150 X 14
Immediate drop to 110 X 12

These drops are just what I needed to up the effort and up the intensity. I may even go to triple drops next week. Getting freaking crazy now!!

ONE-ARM HERCULES CURLS

75 X 12

BENTOVER DB CONCENTRATION CURLS (ala Arnold)

75 X 12

These were straight sets. But they felt oh so good!! I took my mind to a different place. Blocking out all doubt, all fear, and all pain!!

FOREARMS

ONE-ARM CABLE HAMMER CURLS

90 X 10!!
Immediate drop to 75 X 8

You know that since they're called "hammer" curls, that I would love 'em!! And I do. One of my most favorite exercises of all. I get down and dirty with these mutha's!!

And that was a rap!! This was truly one of the very best workouts of my entire life!! No exaggeration at all. I was more than just "in the zone". I went way beyond the zone this morning!! No stopping me now!! I've gone freaking crazy!! :fool2:

Great stuff TG, thats some weights you used here, well done, you are keeping your strength up, and at the same time burning through the vicerol fat deposits, using them to fuel your recomp.
Good work, keep going.

Yea Thunda! What a freakin workout!

Here is some more motivation for your next battle with the Iron!

To be honest whenever this song comes on on my ipod and I am working out I seem to think about you and the rest of the old Doom Crew... it helps me with the heavy stuff. I wish you guys could be standing behind me screaming at me to get that last rep... I'll have to settle for jamie jasta in my earphones for now.

I downloaded the album last year, well in 2007 that is... :D

I had it cranked out over my tricked out home stereo and everyone was loving it! Good times.

Hahaaaa.. nah, not a Colts fan (don't hate me, my fellow Hoosiers)..

The way I see it, the Colts are transplanted anyway. Altho I guess they have been here now for 25 yrs. or so..

Actually (and this is even worse to say these days :(), I'm a 49ers diehard.. grew up watching Joe Montana & the boys.

I don't blame ya. I lived for Joe and Jerry in the old glory days. I was just a young pup, but they were my first football heroes.

Question??

I have a question that I was wondering if some one could be so kind as to help me with. Without totally giving my next cycle away, I will say that I will be using an epithio in the stack. I bought a gram of Epithio powder from ZSUPPS a while back before they started capping it. I also have EST Methyl-E and Juggernaut E-Max. But I'm wanting to use up the Epithio powder first.

I plan on dosing it in an olive oil suspension. I don't have a capping kit. This method works very well, by the way. I dose my ATD powder like this. When I mix it up, I put the ATD powder and olive oil in a baby food jar without the lid and place it in a pre-heated 275 degree oven for 20 minutes. I got this advice from a good source. And it works great.

But here's my question. Since the Epithio is methylated, will heating the mixture harm the actives in the Epithio in any way? Should I just mix it up and forego the heating it in an oven?

I know with all the great minds we have here at AM, that someone will have an answer for me!! Thanks guys!! :head:

LMD did some testing on exposing methylepitiostanol the heat and said it did indeed breakdown. I'm not sure on the temp, but I thought I would let you know.

Personally, I would not subject methylepitiostanol to heated oil.

Hmmm...I'd recommend heating up some water in a pot, but only a small bit, and then setting the jar with OO/Epithio in the water just to warm up the oil, and then shake it up for a while.

When I made TrenA, that's what I did and it worked great.

Thanks Iron!! There's one vote against heating it. Something told me to ask before I decided to mix this stuff up.

Agreed.

Warm is one thing, but heated is another. I definitely think if you just warmed it up a bit you'd be okay.

Uh-oh! Now we have a another opinion. ha ha I'm guessing a little hot water bath wouldn't hurt it. I just want to be sure. I don't like leaving anything to chance.
Would mixing it up cold be a bad idea? I know that a slight amount of heat would help it go into solution. I just don't want to harm the actives.

Keep the opinions coming guys. That's why I asked. I've got to head out to work right now (graveyards) so forgive me for my asking and running off. I'll be back in the wee hours of the morning to check back on the answers. You guys are the greatest!! :head:

CARDIO UPDATE

Evening Cardio: 1 hour walk

Morning Fasted HIIT Cardio: 25 minutes
20 intervals of 30 seconds all-out intensity followed by 30 seconds moderate intensity.

ABS

3 TRI-SETS OF CABLE CRUNCHES/LYING LEG RAISES/REVERSE CRUNCHES

I performed all 3 tri-sets back to back with no rest between them. So it was really like one big Giant-Set. As the God of Thunder, I have always taken pleasure in slaying giants. Whether they be frost-giants or rock giants. And I really slew this Giant-Set of ab exercises!! :hammer:

I love my long late evening walks. Very relaxing. I have always done my best thinking while walking. It clears my mind of distractions and allows me to focus on the important things in life. I grew up in the country on a dairy farm and would often take long walks through the fields and woods. Some things never change.

This morning's HIIT cardio session was awesome. I had great energy, stamina, and endurance. The ReCreate had me sweating bullets!! I was soaked.

I took my supps upon waking and then 15 minutes later, I had 15 grams of BCAA's with water. Then I hit up the ol' exer-cycle. And wore it out!! :head: I then went immediately into my ab work. A great way to start the day!!

Does everyone remember Sunday when I trained I said I went to Drop Set City for that intense workout? Well, I'm in a new location this morning. I am right in the nastiest section of downtown DOMS City!! Oh, the humanity!!! LOL

My lats, traps, biceps, and forearms are really aching now. They were yesterday as well. It's just really intensified this morning. I usually don't get sore the very next day from training, hence why it's called DOMS=Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. In all honesty, my legs and calves are still hurtin' from Friday's grueling workout. I took that 1 hour walk late Friday afternoon in the hopes of negating some of the ensuing soreness. All in vain! ha ha Yesterday morning's HIIT session had my quads aching oh so well.

I don't mind the pain. Never have. Pain has been my constant companion in this life. I was birthed in pain. I came out with a primal scream. I shall go out with another. Pain has always let me know that I'm still alive. Our most vivid memories are associated with pain of some sort. Whether physical, mental, or emotional. Pain seems to leave deeper grooves and scars in our psyche than pleasure does. Memories such as injuries, deep cuts, broken bones, or torn muscles stand out. So, as twisted and sick as it may sound, I lift and love for pain.
Pain=Gain and that brings me pleasure!!

"I guess it's my destiny to be the King Of Pain!!"

Ahh, hearing you say that you don't mind the pain make me want to whip out my Danzig. :D

Hel to the Yeah!! I'm glad you whipped that thang out this morning!!

I was actually trying to find a video of KISS's song Sweet Pain off their Destroyer album. No luck. The second verse says,

"And pain has got its reason.
You find it pleasin', yes you do. Yes you do.
And I'm going to show you around.
You get your loving anyhow. Anyhow.
And..you'll get to love me,
And my sweet pain.
My love will drive you insane!"

I've been a KISS freak since junior high. I loved that song. :smite:

I'm still trying to figure out if my legs are in DOMS city from the split-squats 2 days ago or if I actually pulled something; I'm leaning towards the latter because I had to stop my sets because of it, but it really feels like instant-DOMS. I still did my Clean&Press, Deads and Sprints yesterday

I would wager that it's only a mild strain or "instant" DOMS. Even though instant DOMS would be an oxymoron, I still know what you mean.
If you could perform clean/presses and deads followed by some sprints......it's not an all-out injury. And that's a good thing.

Is the anabolic pump really neccessary? Especially if you are taking in a P-Slin before you take in your post workout carbs.

I'm guessing that if you have the P-Slin, but no Anabolic Pump, then you could use the P-Slin before and after the workout. Or the other way around. But I'm new to this in all honesty Aussie.
I'm only a hammer-weilding/weight-tossing Thundergod!! :hammer::lol:

NO!! :nono:

AP is suitable for this purpose due to the additon of Phelledendron (berberine, induces fat oxidization); Pslin REQUIRES a large carb load to work..

Pressed for time to add addtl explanation right now.. just DON'T try Pslin w/o a large carb load following!

I've used AP quite a lot in the past. I found it rather useless if I didnt ingest some carbs 15-30 after taking it hence why i thought taking it pre workout without any carbs was a bit of a waste. Wouldnt be the first time ive been wrong though TG :D

AP in fasted state induces expenditure thru energy systems.. Pslin does not.

AP very suitable for this purpose..

The solution I was discussing with Mullet if I only had Pslin what I might do if I wanted to do fasted is take my first Pslin hours before my workout with carbs and then After again with a carb shake. I am a nutrient partitioning virgin so I don't know how practical this would be.

I don't mess with AP or Pslin w/out carbs... hypoglycemia is not fun, and it hits me FAST... learned it on AP once, never doing it again. It was like my body turned to slow motion all of a sudden. I had NO energy. I have heard of people using lower carbs than I did for more of a recomp effect, but I have yet to try it. AP is going to be a staple for my supplements during my upcoming cut for summer.

Oh and TG, you know I love the pain... read my sig!

What activity followed your dosing? Fasted training w/ AP works because the body is catabolic [energy producing] not anabolic [energy consuming] during a workout, which is a common misconception. I often hear people say, "Working out for X minutes causes catabolism" when, in reality, catabolism is what you want/need to happen! During a workout your body inhibits anabolic processes [such as protein synthesis which require glucose metabolism and therefore take energy from the system], and increases catabolic processes [such as glycolysis which puts energy into the system] in order to stay in energy homeostasis.

So, what does this mean re: AP and your hypoglycemia issue? Taken in a sedentary state the body is anabolic state, and therefore cells are [let's say for brevity] in a receptive state; fasted, they are in a [again, for brevity] in a productive state: Oxidizing their own stores of glycogen and/or fatty acids in order to place glucose into the system.

Training w/ AP fasted and just taking it and doing regular activities are a whole different ballgame!

I got to enjoy P-Slin for a brief time. What would be your advice if I pick some up as far as timing. I'll be using a competition diet to lean out for the Arnold.
