Lately ive been thinking of stepping away from the do it all multi and going to seperate vitas and taking the following everyday

Vit A
B complex
Vita E
Zinc

What say you? Any kind of absortation issues going on there if i took all them together?

1 pill versus 5 or 6? why wanting to change? plus most multi's have far more essientals than that and cover more than just the basics

Apples to semis here......no comparison.

Pretty much for potentcy issues, the amount of vita A and E and zinc in most multis isn't very much.

Im trying to boost up my immune system for the cold season also. I don't really need vitamin D or C as i get plenty from milk, cheese, fruit, juice daily.

So i figure if i get a solo A, E, b complex and zinc. I'll be getting a large dose of all the basic essentials.

I do this actually.

Vit A&D- I get from Cod Liver Oil
Vit C- Acerola Powder
Vit B- Dessicated Liver
Vit E- Wheat Germ Oil

These are concentrated sources of these vitamins along with alot of other goodies too.

i personally do both....i take a normal multi vitamin/mineral twice per day...and take extra of the other nutrients that i may need like vitamin c, b complex, zma...

Bad idea. Taking just seperate vitamins can cause deficiencies and imbalances. Stick with a multi but supplement with others like C Bs etc. Also you high doses of fat soluble vitamins are a bad news

It helps to switch your multi around on regular basis, the chances of you getting a vitamin deficient related illness is very low. I think the less pills in number you actually take the better.

I'm one for a custom vitamin plan. An annual nutrition test like SpectraCell will show what you need more/less of. You will never get enough of certain vitamins from a multi... like C, calcium, magnesium.. these I take in a powder. Everything else I take optimal forms. Zinc separately from copper. For vitamin E I take TOCO 8 :)

Can you say more about the Spectracell? The T8 is a great choice in my opinion.

Thanks for posting that, I want to reiterate that the less pills you have to take the better in my mind, and that switching formulas or alternating seems to be helpful. Taking time off all supplements is also helpful.JMO
