Anonymous Section

Anonymous section useful?

It has come up on another board about the utility of such a section. AM has ran fine w/out an anon. section for this long, and I have yet to see anything useful come of it. I find it to only be a playground for trolls that we can't neg.

How do you feel about it?
 
I think its full of knobs who wanna troll but if you don't like it, just don't go into that part of the forum. Simple :)
 
sometimes its funny. it did lead to someone getting banned, which i considered a good thing. most of the time, its a complete waste of time.


EDIT : WTF? how do i turn anonymous back on???? :)
 
anon section is entertaining and it keeps people in line.
i actually think it has cut down on the riff-raff in the main forum because people know they would get called out in the anon forum.

Why wouldn't they get "called out" in a regular forum? Why hide identity? I just don't understand. I mean, we already hide our "real" selves behind "online personalities". Now, we feel the need to hide that, as well?

Yeah, we can.

A "link back" is when an other board posts a URL on their board to a thread on our board. There is a "link back" to their board visible at this board. So if I so desire I can follow it to that board and follow all the drama that ensues.

Both the above can be humorous for a moment or two but do get old and boring.

I knew about that, hence why I like to copy/paste URLs into the address bar instead of click on them. I didn't know they had an actual name for it. Thanks for the clarification. :hammer:
 
The anonymous section is a wonderful thing. Good for laughs, venting, and talking about all the things that we are not supposed to. I love it. One of the best parts of this forum. If I can be completely anonymous and talk total c@cksh!t to strangers, I say OK.

Hey, BTW, I didn't mean to come off as abrasive as I may have.

After you read some of the ridiculous stuff that people post over the years there really is not much to differentiate between the anonymous moron posters and the non-anonymous moron posters...:fart:
