Women paying for the date ?

Since this is probably going to be 99.99999% men reading this, what do you think about if the girl pays for the date ?

Traditionally men always pay, etc, etc....but society is becoming more liberal (think gay marriage).


Do you always pay ? Do you have your girl/date pay ?

I never minded paying but I appreciate when the girl at least offers ... shows that shes not just out for a free meal..

after a few dates, i think they should at least contribute in some way.. back in the 1920's it made sense for the guy to pay all the time because the courtship didnt last years like it does today. after a few dinners, a woman should be expected to at least contribute to the check... why should the guy be responsible for a chicks meals if its pretty likely that they wont marry anyways
 
I think the traditional mindset was back then the guy worked to make money, so it was clear why he should be paying. Women stayed at home and did whatever it is that they do.


Now women are much more prevalent in the workforce and can earn a decent living.


I remember my ex-gf flew off the handle when I asked her if she was takng me out. She then immediately told all her (female) friends about that and they all told her that she needed to break up with me ASAP b/c I even said that. Lovely.
 
First and second date always. Third dinner she better at least offer, I reject. 4th time I find she'll offer (waiting to be rejected) and I'll accept. If shes offended I accepted (even to split it) than thats a major negative point.

I definitely think if your going on 3 or more dinners than they should be paying some of the time (not 1 for 1, but at least 2 for 1)

It also can be situational and if your just friends its changed up a little.

After reading that article I'm not dropping 800 dollars to impress a girl (even if I could afford it.) If you need money to impress a girl its not going to work out imo. Not saying you don't treat a girl friend or someone you like to an occasional treat or something out of the blue but not on the basis of impressing them.
 
I don't mind paying 90% of the time, but I'd atleast like the girl to pick up 10% if not more.

wow i would have dropped her on the spot..

my girl wont always take me out.. but she does cook me gourmet dinners often and takes care of me.. she earns her keep

Yeah, on hindsight that is tremendously good advice. Her and her friends were those 'look hot, but guys must bow to me' type of girls....there was a tremendously high sense of entitlement as well. No wonder her friends thought the same thing, they are like that too.


Another time (despite knowing it would piss her off) I said, 'So are you paying for me this time ?' (in a playful manner)

She said, 'Why would I do that ?'

.....I can feel the love.
 
I'm the other way around -- I never, ever pay for a girl unless 1) I somehow owe her for something, or 2) We're intimately involved (or there is a grand chance that we soon will be)..

Girls take advantage of this WAY too often -- won't ever catch me giving some weasel a free meal.
 
I always pay, but I've had girls argue with me about paying all the time. They like to be able to act independent at times, but I feel bad if I let them pay. I've had no choice in some cases because they just wouldn't let up, so I cave and give in. But I usually pay about 99.9% of the time. If they start a debate over it, then I usually debate with them as I'm reaching into my wallet and pulling my money out.
 
When my wife and I met I had just left everything I owned in Hollywood when I left the band I was in. I had no job, no money, no car, NOTHING. She paid for everything including our wedding rings!!! NOW, it is paying off for her! I got it together and she now has a 2.25ct diamond, new car, 8000 sqft house and Big Daddy!!!! She says it was a wise investment!! LOL
 
I always pay for the first date unless its been stated earlier by her she will pay her way for whatever reason. Now i did have a gf that paid for the first meal without me even knowing it and i swear 90% of the time she pair from there on it. It was awesome! :lol::thumbsup:
 
i like this thread, it definitely peaked my interest. my gf pays just about everytime we go out now. we're both in school, but shes daddy's little princes and has been getting $$$ from her parents and grand parents since she was born (they own a huge Chevy dealership). my parents are definitely set too, but they are old school and think that i'll never appreciate anything if its just given to me, which is untrue but i see their point. my parents give me an allowance to eat ect while at school, but all that money goes towards groceries....so if my gf wants to go out to eat, she knows that i dont have the money for it (because i eat like a horse :bb3:) and she pays. dont get me wrong, i feel like a complete douche when she pays, but i dont have a job and can only live off the little $$ my parents give me.
 
I usually pay but some I have dated insist at times. I'll typically blow it off and say you get the next one. Some remember and want to pay, so I let them. Others do not and I pay without a moments hesitation. Movies and ordering out are up for grabs. Now, if she gives great head and swallows eagerly I never let her pay, :lol:

I typically pay about 70% of the time, but my girl buys me sh1t out of nowhere like new shoes or some fancy metro shirts.
 
I'll pay the first 2 dates and if she doesn't volunteer to pay by the 3rd than I go to my bullpen for other options and I won't call her back. We usually go 50/50 after that. I've been with a chick who was raking in 300-400K a year but she would always give me the sad puppy face trying to get me to foot the bill.

Being traditional is just a fancy way of saying that you're doing what people before your era were doing and this doesn't apply in many of our situations in the 21ST century.
 
I've been lucky to date 2 sugar mamas since I was 17, so I haven't had to pay for nearly as much as I should. That reminds me, I need to find me another one of those...
 
My girl and I live about 3600km away from each other and we have swapped paying for flights. When I pay, she literally payed for anything else - whether I asked or not. She even bought me a few nice hoodies.

It isn't on the pretense that one of us will reciprocate if/when we are affluent, it's just because we like to. I don't see it in terms of tradition or restrictions or really anything else. Money is money - you can make more.
 
I always offer to pay...........once your dating its a different thing, you can split it 50/50....But hey maybe that's why I am single.........LOL
 
I make it obvious that she is the one going after me, most often women buy my drinks without me even asking.

If I actually like her, I will gladly split the bill or pay for it.
 
Man I need to find me some of these girls instead of a bunch of ooo can you buy me a drink. Hey you wanna go out, then you say ya your paying for your food and they go :blink:

One word for you: COUGARS :twisted: Go to the high class bars, work your angles, and enjoy 2-3 free drinks if you know who your target audience is :)

My brother, uncle, best friend, and I would see who could get the most free drinks and my uncle got 8 in a 3 hour span, he's my idol LOL.
 
My current GF pays a lot of the time. She insists and at first it was a bit awkward but since she has the money and feels she needs to pay, i let her. I still pay for the odd meal/date but she pays most of the time. It's nice :)
