i was closer to my mother growing up!love her to pieces,so i just thought id put a thread out there to see who you a.m'ers give your props/respect to.dont get me wrong!my fathers a good guy to.but when it comes to closeness you can say im a mama's BOY..!

Also I saw my dad very little, but I've always trusted/been better understood by him than my mom.

I agree with Steve. I am still best friends with my older sister.

However in terms of parents, when I was young it was my mom, but as I got older I started to see what my dad was saying and grew very close to him till he passed almost 12 years ago

I think most people are closer to the opposite gendered parents. I was closer to my mom, and now I'm closer to my daughter.

I was closer to my mom probably because she was home more than my dad was. My dad put in a lot of overtime at work so my sisters and I could have things. I didn't really understand it back then like I do now. I did look to my dad for advice on tough decisions in life and I went to mom for support. Moms was more of a cool down to earth friend kinda of person and Pops was a strong strict no bull tell it like it is kinda person. Now ask my sister and she'll tell you the opposite.
