I have a variety of things going on while training. Half the time it is talk radio or fast music whether it be dance or heavy metal or industrial stuff. I don't do ipods because usually when I am in the middle of pumping it out I don't hear anything around me. I am too focused on working the muscle and pushed it to its end that I don't hear anything til the end.

I have never put the ear plugs in with loud music while training.

System of a Down, some Ministry tracks, Metallica, harder Ween tracks (Gonna be a Long Night, Johnny On the Spot, You Fu**ed Up, Piss Up A Rope, Put the Coke on my ****, sure I missed some but oh f**ing well), Nirvana (Bleach, mostly), Pixies

And, if anybody wants to know who is the baddest mf'er ever to live:

Nothing beats some good hard dance music, tiesto,Carl Cox,Paul Oakenfold ;-)

Agreed ^^^^ I prefer old school house music (80s-early 90s) but some of the more recent dance tracks and newer remixes are awesome.

Can't wait for Ibiza now...2 weeks of clubbing, gym, sun and sea :)

Never got into that stuff for lifting, guess i need something angry so i can get angry at the weights haha.

Haha, I have to admit it's an aquired taste ;) I used to listen to a lot of heavy metal, death metal, etc. when I trained but I seem to lift better when I'm 'happy' as opposed to 'angry' if that makes any sense...:) Maybe it helps fight off the pain...

Yeah dance music is the best when doing any sort of rhythmic work (i.e. steady state cardio) since there's a constant beat and it's really uplifting :)

I don't think its weird, just not for me. I get strange looks in my gym for what i listen to haha.

Lol, it's not as bad as me when I forget there are other people in the gym and start dancing! The girls love it though...;)

It's honestly gotten pretty rare for me to listen to music on my mp3 player when I'm working out... nowadays i'm more than likely listening to a podcast of some sort.

Parkway Drive, I Killed the Prom Queen, It Dies Today, As I Lay Dying, Heaven Shall Burn, Slayer, Unearth just to name a few.

A Perfect Circle is all i've been listening to lately :D

I used to break dance to that song as a kid.... it always gets me hyped up.

rap music is were it's at, heavy metal gives me headaches, old school rock n roll is to slow, and i never got into techno

I still haven't run into a better song than this to get me in the mood to put up weight:

"don't pull that thang out unless u plan 2 bang,
don't even bang unless u plan 2 hit somethang!"

All I ever seem to hear is the crappy pop **** my gym plays with my partner grunting very loudly over some light weight... :raincloud::dunno::raincloud:

Just get an ipod mate, turn it up loud ;)

I'm lucky though, my gym owner's into house, dance all that sort of music, so I just plug my ipod into his beast of a sound system when he's in and play to my heart's content!

Btw, does anyone else get ridiculously distracted by this music video in the gym? (maybe it's only out in the UK atm)

:D If the airforce was actually like this I'd have signed up a while ago!

Metallica (Before the LOAD album)
Slipknot's first 2 albums
Avenged sevenfold
Korn (before david and the guitar player left)
Mudvayne
Iron maiden
Pantera (WALK-right before going to the gym)

For cardio, i use a mix of trance and techno, fast BPM stuff

duuuuude....that air force vid reminds me of tarantino somehow...

hell, I wish I could do that....I think I will start learning that dance lo!

I couldn't imagine having the energy to bust out a 6 step after doing some squats hehehe..

Zero V, that Xstep is a bastardized version of the cryp walk...just a bit of uprocking, not too hard to learn, just takes some dedication and practice and basic principles

I usually listen to just about any metal band when I weight train. When I do cardio, I just put the ipod on shuffle.
