That is a very important part to enjoy and make it where it’s still work and still productive to whatever goals one has but enjoying the process.

Think I started with really good numbers to base the percentages off. Things are feeling great. This is hard to describe, feels like I’m finally tuning into more power and drive things seem to be a lot more explosive if that makes any sense at all.

Really excited for this 8 week block.

Also are chickens are laying eggs still got more to come but we have been clocking in about dozen every day now for the last 4 days! So needless to say been eating a lot of eggs.

Sounds like really good news, if you feel you look lean enough to be at a new low, but aren't. That's a pretty good sign you added some muscle.

I think I’ve definitely added some tissue just looking back at old pictures. Not going to really change anything up just going to keep plugging along at what I have been doing!

a couple of our old broody hens past egg years started eating eggs from our new (this years chicks) layers so my wife moved them into the meat bird pen to figure out which one was the egg eater. Now that she's got it dialed down to the two culprits, I suspect they'll be going on a ride in the chicken plucker this weekend 😂

We have solar that runs the lower well for stock tanks.

This is the main well up at the house. Not at this time looking to switch over (electric here is really not that much).

I should rephrase that used the backhoe to dig the trench then hand dug along the concrete and then drilled through to stub the pipe through.

I’m doing 2” pvc into the house and sliding 1” PEX through that will connect for the water. I wanted to do a sleeve just for the rare case something ever happened to the water line, I could pull the pex and replace.

clearly not your first rodeo. when I first pictured that I was like oh crap man, if your pex was to burst how would you ever find it without busting open your PVC, but then I realized your long term plan there. that's actuually pretty genius, wish I had done that when I redid ours a couple summers ago!

Was a late session, by the time I set batter boards and re stringing the pad then ate and took the kids for a walk, well the evening was gone 😂
 
Whew this weekend was brutal. Got some plumbing dug in and dug up the connection to the sewer line so I can come up with fittings to tie in.

Most of the digging was with a pick and shovel. On top 100 degrees each day it was a tot body workout.

Was really hoping to be done with plumbing this weekend but didn’t happen. Also to not I’m a super meticulous so I keep adjusting until it’s perfect, so that adds more time.

Fence posts are no joke man. I about fell over when I saw the price of 3” sch 40 pvc at basically 60$ a stick.

Whew this was a session, body pretty tired from all the regular outdoor work.

Was hoping to get a few other things done this evening but needed to get oil changed on 2 trucks. Compost needed swapping out for a new batch. Then mowed along the road it needed it plus I need the grass clippings to start my other compost pile. Then the chicken coop need a hosing out 😂

Then like that it was evening and the kids wanted to go for a side by ride so we went and had a cruise. 😎


Alsooooo tomorrow is opening day of dove season so pretty excited for that. So tomorrow evening will be all about getting setup for that.
 
Nice workout, especially considering all your chores in addition to. It looks like your wife is giving you a little hint with the shirt that she’s liking your results from your training. 😎👍

good wife, good squats, huge chore day. looking forward to seeing a pile of doves!!
I keep going back and forth between gearing up for duck and deer season... its just getting harder and harder with less and less public land to work (especially for ducks)

My brother in law just came down to visit while mom was here and told me I need to come out to hunt his 40 acres. I asked him about processing the deer, and he was like Dude, we process it at the house, put it in a big cooler, pack it with ice and send it home with you. So now, I might be heading up to Arkansas this year to get some venison, and some other game meats. He just moved there recently from a big place in Ohio he had. So I need to try to take advantage of that, especially if not paying for processing that would end up being some cheap meat!

Dude you absolutely should. I know it can be a bit to do, packing all your **** to head off for a hunt, but its amazingly therapeutic and I don't know what processors charge in TX-Arkansas areas but I know up here being able to do it yourself will save you at least $160-200+.

another thing my wife and I have done is take the fattiest pork butt we can find and grind it in with vension to make some of the most delicious ground venison burgers you could possibly have.... so even if the wife doesn't take to venison steak, ground is always good.

For sure if you can I would take advantage of that. Definitely not to hard to process a deer lots of YouTube videos to at least get a general idea. When processing your self you can also save a lot more meat then taking to processing plant.

On average when we do a deer after it’s already cleaned and skinned and aged. Cutting/grinding/ wrapping-vacuum sealing 2 people we can usually have it done in 4 hours give or take.


Also don’t forget it makes great jerky! You can buy the jerky marinade and then smoke it and worlds best jerky

I fully understand that, when I was living up North I was like this freaking sucks there is little public ground I had no private ground to hunt.


Now being back down south have a rough estimate of probably 10,000 acres of private land to hunt. And then the area is full of Walk in hunting land that opens in November and goes to February. Granted the reason there is so much it’s an incentive from the state they pay farmers to roll there ground in for the winter months for public land.
